My son was a student there for 1 year and in his experience, he has developed a hatred for school, learning, homework...etc. That should have been my first indication there was a serious issue at the school. I tried working with the teachers, the directors, I even met with occupational therapists and behavioral therapists. My child was not the problem. The teachers told me my son was "unteachable", diagnosed him with ADHD (without having a degree in psychology), and said he has a "chemical imbalance and needs medication." In the time he was present at the school his father deployed for the military. His therapist tried to work with the school due to his "trauma" and adjustment disorder. The staff wasn't understanding or supportive of this change. I had a therapist do an evaluation of my child at the school and the report was absolutely heartbreaking. My child was bullied by the teachers and other students. The only time they gave my son attention was when it was negative. The verbiage used by teachers was inappropriate and they never gave him any positive reinforcement. If your child has any "challenges" don't bother sending your child here. They won't be supported. read more

my children went here for 2 1/2 years and my son cries to go back to this daycare. Viki was an amazing Director. She made us feel at home as if we were part of a family. It's very disappointing that she no longer works there because of that I would not bring my children back to this daycare. All the teachers that were previously there before seem to not work there anymore and all the new teachers that they are hiring are not as good as the ones before. We started at cadence due to its close proximity to our house but we stayed because of the quality teachers. My daughter is 15 months and absolutely loves her time there. Every day different activities are offered and the teachers email updates and pictures throughout the day. The teachers take the time to get to know each child and personalize teaching to that child. We feel comfortable to start our newborn at Cadence in a few weeks. read more

Please do not take your children here. Listen, I'm not one of those people that feels like their kid can do no wrong, but I do expect a child care center to work with me. Tell me what's happening, work with me to help correct the child's behavior, and implement strategies that we come. Up with through meetings. Rogy's did none of this. Our little guy was being aggressive as many 4 year old boys tend to do and we have been attempting to address it in every way we could because he doesn't exhibit these behaviors anywhere but Rogy's. They gave us reports to sign, no copies were given to us, no corrective actions were discussed. We asked for advice and what we could do and were given little or nothing. They had us go to Valley View school district to "get a plan that Rogy's could work with" and then summarily expelled our child. Valley View sent representatives, material, and assets to Rogy's to help and they basically said that they weren't going to work with the district. Their director is sweet as pie one minute and a nasty dismissive woman the next. I tried my best to be nice and find the positive side but there were so many days she was just incredibly rude. The teachers here aren't required to have higher education or even multiple certifications. The Director Vicki holds an associate degree. Our boy did great in the toddler room. But once her started with the 4 year old. Program we had nothing but trouble. The 4 year old lead teacher, Mrs. Q who has posted false reviews to boost their rating is possibly the laziest most dismissive individual I have ever encountered. Not once did she have a thorough conversation with me about my child and I was barely acknowledged when picking him up. Whenever we came into the room she would be sitting on the ground while her assistants ran around doing all the work. Please do not get me wrong there are some wonderfully kind and caring people at this facility. Sophie the assistant director is one, Mrs Carrie is another. But the leadership and choice in some of their teachers borders on ludicrous. Please save you and your child some heartache and find somewhere else. These are our kids and they deserve better care than what this facility provides. I understand daycare is stressful and hard to do and I have the utmost respect for the good people who do it well. Unfortunately Rogy's just isn't one of those places overall. Valley View school district is a wonderful program and our child has not had ANY of the issues there. No aggression what so ever and he doesn't come home saying that his teachers said he was a bad person. If you have any doubts call and speak to Vicki yourself... If you catch her on an off day she will be curt... nasty... and dismissive as if you were a child. read more

This is absolutely the WORST preschool I have ever encountered. They are emotionally abusive to the children. Two teachers told my 4 yr old godchild he was going to get coal for Christmas, continuously that he was a bad child, he came home crying saying he was told "he is so bad he doesn't deserve presents and Santa will skip his house". He asked why the teacher didn't like him. He got kicked out 30 minutes after the start of school because they refuse to redirect children- when dropped off, all the kids are still unruly and he definitely needs redirecting- but they won't even try. And then the lead teacher posts positive reviews on this daycare she works at- a conflict of interest. NO video recording inside, so if any abuse happens, how can it be investigated? Some of us do not have to luxury of staying home with our children all time, so I am glad there is a place like this here to help me out. When I was looking for childcare, I looked at almost every option in the area and this was the best option. Everyone that works here is nice and my son loves his teachers. When I have had issues the staff has been nothing but helpful, even the corporate office when I have had to deal with them. I feel completely safe leaving my son here. The building is locked with keypads to get in and out and there are cameras in all of the classrooms. Much of the staff here is young, but they all know and seem to care about the children. One of the main reasons I picked this place is the atmosphere. Rogys seems a lot more warm and caring than a lot of the other places I looked at. They seem to genuinely care about the well being of your kids, and not just how much they can wring out of you. They also didn't require a chicken pox vaccine for my son, which was a huge plus for me. A day here does have structure as well. At the end of the day I get a little report saying what he ate, how training is going, what he played with and what kind of art project they did. He has learned a lot. I highly recommend Rogys to anyone looking for childcare. I wouldn't take my son anywhere else. read more

When leaving your child there early there are only 2 employees there for about 2 hours by themselves with about 15 children or more. If you have different start times at work they are not so accommodating, when you call to inform them your on your way for the bus they say they can not inform bus driver. I am a single mother of 4. I had problems with them from the start. The director was wiling to work with me on her terms only. I get paid every 2 weeks. Now there are new owners and things overwhelming. I was angry with them because they wanted me to go over my bill with them to find where they went wrong. Nobody could add the 2 weeks together and subtract what was already paid to what I really owe. It was really frustrating to deal with. The staff there does not keep each other in the loop of what is going on most times. When you make them aware is when they then want to inform other employees. At 6 a.m. there is only on teacher in 1 classroom to drop off children. Yes, I tried being this up to them but, they kept getting angry with me. First let me say I have a great deal of respect for child care workers. They have a very difficult job. What I found with this location is things are great if you have a child who marches to the same drum as everyone else but if you have a child who likes to rock out to "Shout"(you know who you are) there are some teachers here who just don't know what to do. It would be great if all children fit in the same mold but this isn't the place for those who don't. I guess the best way to sum it up is what do you say to a little one who wants to know why his teachers don't like him. My experiences at Cadence Academy, Romeoville have been nothing but positive. The facility is warm and inviting and the classrooms are child focused and centered around learning. The staff are friendly and always have smiles on their faces. They take the time to greet me, update me when needed and have always been open to any discussions or concerns I may have. They go out of their way to make me feel like I am involved and I am truly grateful for this. The Director and Assistant Director have always been helpful and are always available to answer any questions. Being able to stop and talk to them openly, about anything, is extremely comforting. The dedication, hard work, and comfort this Center has provided will not soon be forgotten. Highly recommend. read more

The staff at this school is the worst! They are rude, disrespectful to the parents and embarrass them. I lost my debit card over the weekend in the city. I called to tell them that I had to wait until 10:00 am for the bank to open so that I could get the tuition monies out, so I would be late. When I arrived at 10:00 am, mind you I was already late for work, they refused to take my child saying it was after 10:00 even thought I had tuition in hand. They went so far as to say "why can't her dad watch her". I have NEVER heard anything more inappropriate than that! After 10 minutes of arguing with them, they finally let my daughter stay! NO one should have to put up with that kind of treatment. They have made many, many other inappropriate comments in the past as well! read more

Don't let the name Academy fool you. This is no place to bring your kids to! The director is unprofessional, and walks around with a sour attitude most of the time, and I question if she should be around children. She lacks communication skills with her staff, and while most of her staff is great there are a few members who could really use an attitude adjustment and remember that it is small children that they are dealing as they pick up everything they hear. Ever since my child entered into the 4 year old room they have been coming home saying that they are a bad kid and that they are no good. Who tells a child that? When we would go pick them up they would be off on their own in a corner away from the group doing their own thing and not a part of the group. No effort appear to be made to include them or explanation as to why they were not a part of the group just that they did not want to participate. It was like they were ignoring him. This was not a once in a while thing, this was a daily occurrence. When behavior had escalated they would send my child home, to the point that they learned that they could just act out of control and get sent home whenever they wanted. When asked of the lead teacher of the 4 year old room, was any redirection done, to help correct the behavior, she cut me off and said yes we did all that but no further explanation or detail as to what was done was provided. There were no meetings to discuss what we could do together to help mitigate the problems even though we would ask for their help. They just told us to go to the school district or they would suspend my child. Once my child was enrolled, the school district had offed resources/help at my request and the director flat out refused any help from the school district and advised she wanted my child out of the her daycare. The lead teach who is with him most of the day could not advise on what caused/triggered the escalated behavior issues which further leads me to believe she ignores certain children in the room; she also hardly ever says anything to the parents who come in to pick up their children, or smile, and when she does its nothing but negative this and negative that. The center appear to be understaffed and run by an un-nurturing individual who clearly leads by crabby example and that is the issue, as my child has not had any issues with the new facility they are at. They have not had the same behavioral issues that they had while they attended Cadence academy, and has never been left to their own devices and we always get a daily report from their teacher as to their behavior and daily activities. This facility should not be in charge of young impressionable kids simple as that. read more

I have had a wonderful experience at Rogys so far. The director Vicki and Assistant Director Sophie have been very nice to myself and my child Myah J. They always acknowledge me and are always smiling. They have accommodated me and my child's needs thus far. The prices are affordable, the facility is clean, and all of the staff that work with my daughter have been amazing!!!! My daughter LOVES it here!! My child enrolled in Cadence Preschool in February 2019. I cannot be more pleased with how much she has grown in their program. The first day she cried of course but when I picked her up that same day she didn't want to leave. The sense of family and community is second to none. The administrative staff to include Ms. Vicky and Ms. Sophie are very attentive and made sure she was enrolled and all set up. I've never had a question or concern that they didn't handle abruptly and compassionately. She did not talk very well upon enrollment but her teachers Ms. Tina and Ms. Kelly have been phenomenal with working with her and now she's a talking machine. I cannot be happier with her growth and I look forward to her continued growth here at Cadence! read more

I've honestly never been treated with such disrespect and unkindness from a person in a professional setting in my life. I wasn't even worth as much of an introduction, handshake or a hello from the director. Being a single mom, desperate for care is hard enough. To have to listen to inconsiderate whispering, attitude and push back just to enroll my child isn't what I had expected for a first experience with this director. The assistant was pretty nice, but I noticed the dynamic of the morale wasn't much different than how I was treated. I needed more information than what was brought in, to my understanding but I am an adult and was talked to as a child and to be honest, cried like one after dealing with this woman. Mortifying honestly. I'm just as guilty of not taking into consideration what someone is going through before catching an attitude, etc however maybe that experience would help the director reflect on how she approaches and treats people. We had a horrible experience with this place and we were treated horribly. My wife was hired on the spot after a job interview. Then came the scramble to find child care for our daughter. We searched the web for different ones and came across this one. It was close to our house so after a walk through of the facility we decided to go with this place. My wife was hired on a Friday and started work on Monday. After receiving the paperwork for enrollment we did everything we needed to do and turned all the papers in on Monday( I felt that the director of the daycare was giving me attitude but my wife said it was all in my head) I took a couple of days off of work to care for our daughter so my wife could start work. We expressed how we needs her to be enrolled as soon as possible and they said they would try to get her in by Wednesday. So Wednesday rolled around and we still hadn't heard from them. After getting out of work me and my wife decided to go there to see if there was an issue. When we get there the director treated us horribly and said we were missing some paperwork, mind you that the day we turned all the paperwork in they didn't mention any problem to us. So here we were with no childcare for our daughter because we never received a call from this place. The communication was bad and the way we were treated us was humiliating. We ended up going to kiddie academy on Thursday and they made the process to easy and stress free. read more

My experience has been very poor at Rogy's Romeoville location. My initial visit to check out the facility was great! I was greeted by the new assistant director and she immediately came off energetic and friendly. Everything from there went downhill on my next visit when I met the director Victoria Bellucci. Her attitude is EXTREMELY unpleasant. She is very short with you and will try to talk to you like an adolescent attending the facility. The 1st two encounters with her I gave her the benefit of the doubt and assumed she was having a long day. Wrong! That's her everyday attitude. Despite the negative reviews she has on yelp and Facebook I thought that I would still give this place a try since the facility Is close to my home. I even had a coworker who took her child out the facility just after a short 2 weeks (because of Vicki's attitude) warn me and I still had to see things 1st hand. I honestly never have been treated so rudely by an individual who directs a child care facility. She seems to be incapable of talking to parents with respect. The staff who actually interacts with the kids are great, my daughter really loves them all. Unfortunately I will not allow my child to continue attending this facility where the director can't even display good customer service. I hope this review gets to the regional director because Victoria Bellucci needs to be reevaluated as director. read more
