My young daughter had a technician come out... who said her thermostat was broke. Okay he replaced it and got it running. Thermostat was only a year old, but how can you prove it worked, you have to trust the technician especially when there's no air conditioning and you just want it running. While out checking the unit he noticed a corner bent and started telling her a stupid scenario of a dog rubbing up on the unit and peed all over it and to get it cleaned out it would be somewhere over $1,000. Come on, what lengths of lies you sales people go to. I told her to stay away from you guys and would recommend someone else. I would not recommend Anderson at all. It's hard to find honest heating and cooling technicians. Anderson is not one of them. read more

Every employee and service technician went above and beyond. My son's basement flooded so we had to get a new sump pump, a new thermostat and fuse installed , and a brand new hot water heater. The technicians could have definitely told us the furnace was damaged and we need a new one but instead they found the fuse and replaced that. Kudos to all!!! read more

I couldn't get the shower handle to work... the shower works...all you have to do is pull out the handle and the water comes on (it's an old design and I couldn't figure it out!) a different plumber came here and showed me, he even had a hard time, figuring it out... but then he he did. Great service in replacing my two hot water heaters. Fast, dependable, great quality job on removal and installation!

When you are a homeowner, there are many sentences that people do not like to hear. One of them is "it is taking a long time to get hot water". It might be common when you are a big family and/or when someone just took a hot shower. However, when no one has touched any water for a few hours... that is not a good statement. At first, I tried to troubleshoot the water heater myself. And since the manual did not help, I decided to go on Yelp where I learned about Andersen Plumbing which is local and has a lot of great reviews. I called them up around 430pm for help. The person who picked up the phone was very helpful. I explained what was going on and she was very kind and understanding. She did state that I am calling after 4pm so it is considered off hours so the rate would be higher. However, if I can wait... they did have an opening right in the morning. I do appreciate having options! They do a lot of their work online. She asked me to send pictures of the water heater and other questions so they can be prepared and find parts for it. The next morning, Nate showed up bright and early. He was very nice and very friendly. Was explaining his troubleshooting and mental list of things to check to ensure my system is working the best that it can. I appreciate that and I liked how I was able to ask some questions and he happily answered them all. In the end, my heater needed a new gas valve. From start to finish, he was all done in ~2 hours or so. He checked again to ensure everything was working properly before he left. He went above and beyond! Overall, I would recommend this company. I had them repair a leak in my basement. The valve leading to my refrigerator was leaking. They said they won't move the refrigerator themselves in order to access the water line connection. They asked if I could help move it. One of the plumbers and I moved the refrigerator causing my hardwood floors to be extremely scratched . Charged me 663 dollars for the refrigerator water line. Plumbers were really friendly and professional. I didn't realize the damage until I cleaned up the area after they left. But my complaint is that this company shouldn't even agree to do a refrigerator water line if they don't have the capability to move the refrigerator themselves. If they offer this service, then they should really invest in a furniture/appliance dolly. Now my hardwood floors are ruined in my kitchen area. read more

Starting with Melissa answering the phone, I was pleasantly surprised and appreciative of the customer service provided to me from start to finish. Melissa, our technician Joey, the design consultant Scott, and the install guys Jeremy and Jacob "had time for me." Each of them were relaxed, friendly, and patient. Not only did they answer my many questions, they encouraged me to ask them and made me feel like it was genuinely important that I felt informed and comfortable. They were not trying to jump in and answer the question as I was asking or rush to their next call. I make such a big deal out of that because, in this day and age, customer service is all but non-existent. Those at Andersen came across as good people and they are good at what they do. Below are details from my experiences with Andersen from the initial phone call to about two weeks post-install. Melissa was great. She was happy to answer my questions about the process and the service membership that Andersen offers. She set up a technician visit for me, and followed up within 30 minutes to let me know that Joey was on his way. That call could have a text, but it was a friendly follow-up phone call. Joey was polite and professional. He was patient with my questions and did not appear to mind me popping in to ask him questions, look at system performance measurements, and look at his video feed inside the furnace. I am aware of how irritating it is to have someone watch you work, and I appreciate that he walked me through the details of what he was seeing and what his recommendations were. On his way out, Joey told me he'd get the information back to the office and get Scott lined up for me. He did just that - within an hour I received a call from Scott, letting me know he was on his was over. I was impressed by how coordinated their operation is. Scott is good at what he does. Fundamentally, his role is to sell equipment, and he does it in a way that is understanding, informative, and not at all pushy. He acknowledges the fact that needing to buy a new furnace is not a position people are thrilled to be in and it's not going to be cheap. His job is to understand your needs: how is your current setup working for you, what functionality do you want, etc. He boiled things down to three options. We walked through each of those options, answering questions along the way, and made a decision on what I felt was really the only option for me. It was an easy sales process. I knew I was being sold a new furnace, but I felt informed, comfortable, and happy about the decision. At one point I apologized for the number of questions I had, and he said, "my job right now is to be here talking to you. Whenever we're done, I'll get to my next family." Our conversation wrapped up after 5:00 on a Friday, and he had the job set up for Monday morning. I had a couple questions about the proposal over the weekend, and was surprised to get almost immediate responses from Scott. I enjoyed getting to know him and cannot stress enough the accessible customer service provided by Andersen. Jeremy and Jacob showed up on Monday morning and it was more of the same in the best way possible: polite, professional, patient, regular guys. These two worked nonstop from the time they walked in. It was honestly fun talking to them, getting to know them, and seeing the project come together. Jeremy's attention to detail is excellent. He clearly takes pride in his work and does not cut corners. Questions I had were answered with what is in the manual, what is to code, his experience, etc. When it was time to test, a couple measurements weren't exactly right, and Jeremy made slight adjustments so it was perfect. I appreciated this dynamic duo. Both of them in and out of the house between the truck and basement, AC and furnace. Jacob made sure the details of the final invoice were exactly right, walked me through it, and made a note of what they will follow up on in the spring. They both offered probably three times to vacuum the basement and, at that point, I felt like they had done enough for us. Hope to see these guys in spring. Three things happened after install. First, got an email from Lennox saying the equipment had been registered. I didn't do a single thing, so I'm assuming someone took care of that for me. The 10-year parts and labor warranty on this furnace and AC were a big part of my comfort pulling the trigger on an expensive purchase. Second, I got a card in the mail from Andersen. A pre-printed card, yes, but with a couple hand-written sentences and a thank you at the top. Nice touch. Lastly, I was signed up for their annual service membership. Their 24/7 service is for their members only. I'm sure that's not a small number of people, but based on the customer service I have experienced thus far I feel confident that I will receive service quickly should I find myself in the unfortunate position of needing after hours help. read more

In 2021 I had an entirely new sewerline installed by Permaseal which passed the village inspection and has a lifetime warranty. Since then, I have been working with Andersen for one year. One clean out of my sewer line was done in August 2024 and everything went fine. After my annual clean out August 2025 - the technician told me there was a shift in the pipe near the clean out check valve. The technician said I needed 10 ft of pipe replaced and the cost would be $8,638. Beware of up-selling with this company. read more

Andersen came through for me again, in a very big way this time. I continually use this HVAC and Plumbing company because of their quality of work, great communication, and friendliness of staff from the owner and office staff to the service technicians. I had an air conditioner that went out in one of our investment properties in Forest Park. Even though Andersen does not service this area, they made an exception and went out there for me. Cody came out and did a diagnostic and quote, and then talked to my husband and I. He was very thorough in his explanation. The very next day John, Alex and Danny went to the property to install a new air conditioning unit and also a new furnace. Andersen's pricing was very competitive. This wasn't an easy job as the men had to get up into the attic to replace a unit. I initially went with a company in the Forest Park area and something just told me I needed to call Andersen before making a decision. I'm so glad I did! For Andersen to go out of their way to a town not in their service area, quickly respond giving us a quote and then installing two units the very next day, I had peace of mind knowing I was using a reliable company that has serviced many of our investment properties, as well as coming to the rescue a few times at my elderly mom's house in Woodridge. They even send out Mario each time to my mom's house because she's 94yo and comfortable with letting him in the house because now she knows him. Every time I call Andersen, they respond quickly, and that is important when dealing with tenants because you don't want them to go without. I had them here in August to check my air conditioner and they tried to turn it into a new furnace because of a cracked heat exchanger that meant my furnace had to be condemned and the gas line sealed. I had someone else look at it and there was no heat exchanger issues. Then just recently we were contacted about having a "complementary plumbing inspection." Stay away from these guys. Put new flame sensors 2 months back for making sure heat reaches to required temperatures. Same issue again within 2 months. My AC went out as have probably a bunch of other people at the same time. I get that. But I contacted Anderson over Yelp at 7AM to hopefully get something scheduled today. Erin contacted me within the hour and had me booked from 11-2 noting that it had to be broad range due to how booked up they were. That was fine. I sat home boiling in the heat and humidity and hadn't received any message from Anderson by 2PM. By 2:15 I was already working with other companies to get on their schedule. I finally get a message from Erin that the tech is on the way and won't arrive until 3. No "sorry we never contacted you" or anything. Again, I understand that they're busy, but they have my Yelp contact, phone number, and email and all of those would take less than a minute to just send me a heads up that they're behind. I asked what their normal working hours were because I don't need someone charging me $80 just to say they need to come back the next day, but Erin didn't answer my question and just asked me if I wanted to keep the appt. Seeing that they're hours behind schedule at this point, I didn't feel confident in that non-answer and the lack of communication in general so I canceled. I wasted a whole day on these guys and it's doubtful I'll get anyone here until early next week. At the very least, maybe they'll be on time for the appt after mine. Edit: I guess all the negative reviews saying the owner is a jerk are true. Clearly reading comprehension isn't one of your skills. I started off recognizing you're busy dealing with many of the same complaints, so you respond telling me I'm not understanding you've had many of the same complaints? But it was worth it knowing my money wasn't going to Chad who thinks missing an appointment without notice and leaving customers in the dark is "no reason". Even after all that, I gave this place a second chance by asking if there was a possibility it would still get fixed the same day and couldn't get any commitment to even that. If they could have at least done that, the bare minimum, I would have canceled on finding someone else and I'd be writing a 5 star review instead of 1. But nope. Times are tough these days and I'm going to be selective and choose to give my hard earned money to someone who respects me and my time even if it means waiting a little longer. We have an annual service contract with Andersen. Last Friday, a pipe started leaking and sent water dripping from our ceiling. Andersen sent Gabriel over that afternoon. He quickly assessed the situation and found and repaired the leak quickly. He did so with removing only the amount of ceiling drywall necessary. He also cut clean edges and long joists; this will help with repairs. Gabriel was great. He explained what he needed to do and clarified pricing up front and before starting actual repairs. The downside was with the office team. My wife called Andersen when she saw the leak in the morning; she explained we have a service contract (which means we get priority scheduling). Andersen's phone person said nobody was available until Monday. My wife was able to reach me about an hour later. I called Andersen and explained the situation and said waiting 3+ days while we had an active leak was unacceptable -- especially given that we have a service contract. Andersen was able to send Gabriel; he arrived around 4 pm. This should not have required two phone calls. Is this the classic case of the company not listening to a woman? That part of the experience was disappointing. read more

We had an emergency plumbing situation last night and I am so glad that I called Anderson Plumbing. I called the number at about 8pm and no one answered so I was about ready to call another company. However about a minute later, I received a text to inform me that someone would be returning my call as soon as possible...immediately after I received a call from Gabriel who was able to come out and assess the situation. He really saved the day and very expediently fixed the problem. He also mentioned that Anderson provides HVAC services and that he is also an experienced HVAC tech. While talking to him, it was clear that this guy really knows his stuff and it was such a relief to find him and this company. My water softener starting dripping so I turned the shutoff valve. The shutoff valve started spraying water everywhere. I called Anderson Plumbing & Heating and got an appointment scheduled. Gabe came out. He was so nice and professional, explained what I needed and gave me a quote. He fixed the issue and assured me it was ok. I cannot recommend them enough. Since I found Andersen via Yelp, I should sing their praises here as well. I called them late Tuesday afternoon our upstairs AC stopped blowing cold air. Gabriel was here the next morning and exhausted all possible issues before determining it was the compressor, which didn't surprise me since the unit is 20+ years old. He quoted a fair price for a new 2.5 ton unit, which he returned the next day with another tech to install (not easy in our hot attic). Less than 48 hours after my initial call, we were back up and running with a new Lennox system. No more camping in the basement!
