What should I begin with because overall this place is EPIC!!!!! From the location to Whiteface moutain, the internet connection although I'd rather not be on my phone it's a great addition. The staff is amazing, grab a good breakfast bite and this place takes bikes which are originally are plan of being here is cycling. Super quiet great vibes and awesome night life by the fire place. This place has a outdoor grill as well which add to this awesome experience. The rooms were super clean and super comfortable bed. Well onto the pictures.

My husband and I worked with the Cadence Lodge to secure room blocks for our wedding in July 2018. We met the owners, Shelley and Don, last winter to arrange the blocks and learned that they were in the process of renovating all the rooms of the cozy, U-shaped motel in the heart of Wilmington. By July, the cute (though outdated) rooms had undergone gorgeous renovations, including updated rustic modern decor, complete bathroom remodels, and new everything. For those looking for where to stay in the area, let me tell you that we were wowed by our experience and the quality of accommodations at the Cadence. So were our wedding guests, who repeatedly commented on everything from the comfortable beds to the cleanliness to the friendly owners to the awesome outdoor pavilion (with BYOB bar, fireplace, seating, TVs and board games). This is an adorable, NEW, CLEAN, comfortable, convenient boutique motel in the Adirondacks that is extremely family-oriented, accommodating, and responsive to guests. Shelley's cell phone number is even on the welcome handout in each room ...seriously, who does that? The Cadence does! The room rates are reasonable and affordable. The complimentary breakfast spread is above-and-beyond what you'd expect (check out the awesome tables made with maps of the Adks!). There's a small community kitchen available to guests - extremely convenient for group get-togethers outside or in the pavilion. And the motel is perfect for families, bicyclists, couples, reunions, or a quiet getaway. Lastly I have to mention how very grateful we are for all that Shelley and Don did to ensure our wedding went smoothly. Shelley saved our butts a few times when we were stuck with flower delivery issues and a lost laptop, and never batted an eye. We were so fortunate to have discovered the Cadence, and we can confidently recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for a place to stay. These people know how to run a business, and it's clear that they love and take pride in what they do. Stay here once and you'll be surprised and delighted by the lovely Cadence Lodge. Thank you Shelley and Don, Sincerely, Eli & Steve Conklin

We stayed New Year's weekend 2022 into 2023 and the accommodations were excellent: Our room was renovated and clean, and the made-to-order breakfast was so good it was hard to believe it was complimentary. The owners and staff were very hospitable and friendly, and quickly took care of a few small requests we had. Additionally, they went above and beyond with a not-so-small request: we had a car issue (nail in tire) and one of the owners was willing to pick us up if we ran into trouble on our way into town to have the tire patched (fortunately, that was not needed). It was an unforgettable weekend in Wilmington/Lake Placid--thank you, Cadence Lodge!!!

Plus, we were attending the Whiteface Oktoberfest and it was a perfect location in the little town of Wilmington just a short drive from our point of our interest. Before hitting the road, we called the owner to make sure he was expecting us because we knew we'd be arriving late. It wasn't a problem, he even told us to drive carefully and not to hurry. He was very comforting saying our room will be ready and waiting for our arrival. He gave us the room's number, so we could focus only on getting to our destination and not worry about anything else. After arriving I was deeply touched. Our room was not only ready for us, but with warm lights, a quiet TV on, and a slowly spinning ceiling fan. We felt extremely invited. The atmosphere was homey and cozy. After many hours on the road it was exactly what we needed and even more. Our accommodations were clean and pretty. Even the shower had a new curtain for us. Breakfast was basic, but I don't have bagels often and it was like a treat, toasted with butter and cream cheese, yum! There was more stuff to eat but I remember the delicious bagels the most and hard boil eggs of which I'm a big fan. I met the owner and shared my appreciation for his hospitality. He has a dog. The dog looked like a statue at first, but he was just chilling and it was easy to take picture of him. This unusual looking fellow was seated perfectly still for my photo and got little bit excited around my breakfast, but so was I, so it was totally understandable. After that I knew he was alright. The breakfast area was a great spot for having a morning meal or coffee during the day or just relaxing reading paper etc. Our room wasn't with 'a view' like I expected, but honestly I didn't know what to expect. The biggest window was in the front, a typical motel style setting. During the day, being located closer to the road could be little bit annoying because of the traffic noise. The nights were super quiet. It was good place to stay.

Every day, a portion was set aside where I just sat on the deck or in the jacuzzi & stared at Whiteface Mountain. The view could not be beat in my opinion....until we actually went up to the peak of Whiteface Mountain! Wow!!!! As is Adirondack Chocolates! We came to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of my husband's passing. When ever my husband & I traveled, one thing we did was find a chocolatier & he would spoil me! We had the privilege of staying in the 100 Acres section of the campground for a few nights in July and loved everything about our stay. The campground consists of two sections; the Resort section and the 100 Acre woods section (just 50 yards down the road). The resort section is located near the office and is a nice, more open, but spacious RV camping area. The 100-acre section is a wooded campground beautifully arranged and maintained. We stayed in the 100 Acres area and were very impressed with the layout of the sites, which were staggered/angled to put the most space between each site. We felt very secluded even though there were other sites around us. Our site was level, spotlessly clean and manicured, and had good water pressure and hookups. The combination restrooms/bathrooms were clean and conveyed a sense of regular maintenance being provided to them. Customer service is top notch and the staff prides themselves on welcoming guests as family. We overheard a current employee talking to a new employee stating that even if the campsite wasn't used prior to a new guest arriving, they always do a thorough check of the site to ensure everything is perfect! This impressed us and aligned with the overall sense of pride shown at NP campground. The camp store is probably one of the best stocked stores we have visited. Additionally, they had growler fills from 3 craft beers of tap right in the camp store!! We loved our stay at North Pole Resorts, which raised the bar pretty high for other campgrounds to live up to!

When we first got to the motel, there is a sign on the driveway that says "no U-turn in driveway." When I got to the front desk, there was another sign, that said, "no directions. Motel guests only.". I assume it was the same guy over the phone that checked me in, because he was again extremely brusque. I tried to make friendly conversation. We were up for a special event, I told him why we were up, and he simply said, "that's nice, sign here...". Also, inside the room, there was a sign that said bicycles are not allowed inside the rooms. You are expected to keep your bicycles out in the open overnight. Oh.....That could go well... Now here's where we get to the good part... He quoted me $140 over the phone. I booked with him over the phone because there was only a couple of dollars more than they were asking on Booking.com. The next day, when I checked my credit card, he had charged me $190! When I called him to ask about it, at first, he said, "let me look into it." And then, just like that, he said, oh, yes. I remember you. I quoted you 169, not 140, And I told you that there would be a credit card service charge. However, you didn't bother to listen. And then, he hung up on me. Now, I am going to have to dispute this with my credit card company, and it's probably going to be a he said,/ he said situation. Stay away from this place, you will get ripped off.
