This relatively small farmer's market allows for a leisurely stroll by the vendors. Round Rock Farmer's market features jewelry, clothing, and of course, fruits and vegetables. We sampled one dessert and meat. One vendor was giving away cute little cloth hearts with thoughtful inscriptions...super kind and generous. The Austin Wildflower Honey vendor was super knowledgeable about local honey production and the benefits of honey. I ended up buying some of the honey. Since it was July 4th, the amount of foot traffic was lite. It allowed us concentrated time with the vendors to ask questions and experience their wares.

Speaking of eggs, ample egg vendors. Found 3 at different price points ($6, $7, $9). Unfortunately, the $6 eggs were some of the worst I've ever purchased at a farmer's market (flavorless, barely yellow yolk). Other than that, they had bread, some produce, beef jerky, sweet treats, and some other miscellaneous vendors. Oh and Tong's Dumpling Bar is a star attraction. It's in a large strip mall so parking is easy. That mall also features one of my personal favorites -- JuiceLand -- so it's an excuse to grab a smoothie!

The Brushy Creek Farmers Market is a new fledgling market in Round Rock that could use some…read moresupport. I rate this place a 3 because there is some work to be done to get this market ramped up and really stocked with goodies. I visited during the weekly Saturday 9 am to 1 pm hours to find a small handful of vendors. There were several arts and crafts stands, a masseuse, and a couple of jelly/preserves sellers. There were a few produce vendors, but selection was pretty limited. I did get some nice locally grown squash. I'm not sure how much the limited selection had to do with the horrific summer we've had or if it was the newness of the market. My favorite vendor was Richardson Farms. They were offering free range eggs, chicken, pork products (including fresh uncured bacon), and grass fed beef. The eggs and pork we bought were reasonably priced and freaking delicious. This isn't yet a major farmer's market, so some visitors might be a bit disappointed with the selection. It is my hope that this one will pick up momentum and draw more shoppers and vendors.

There was only about 9 vendors there but there was enough stuff to make a few meals all around. Fresh baked breads and organic pastas, fresh veggies such as squash, maters, taters, and onions, jellies, salsas, farm raised meats, and even cupcakes for dessert! Not to mention some jewelry, honey and pralines. Living out in the hinterlands of Cedar Park, I was super stoked to find out about this (thanks Chris S!). I haven't found any CSA's to deliver to my house, but I can now order from some of these folks online and then pick up on Saturdays here. And it beats the hell outta getting up early Saturdays and driving all the way to San Antonio (aka Sunset Valley). Richardson Farms provides grass fed beef and pork and chicken, and another stall had what's called "design your dine" with pre-frozen fresh organic dinners that you just thaw out and cook and they say each one is only about 500 calories. Came home with some zukes, some pasta, a coupla pork chops and some fanfreakintasticly fresh pico de gallo from Kala's Kuisine, which apparently has won 2 years in a row now at the Hot Sauce Festival (and I can see why). I would encourage all my fellow Northerners to check this out.....but I still wanna keep it my own private farmers market. Enigma.

There's a nice playground a couple of great food options. I went with the Chinese food today and had this amazing Chinese pancake feel like it was served to me by a father and son duo very nice service and it was really good! I came here looking for something good for lunch that was different and that's exactly what I found . I also bought some gluten-free bread and cauliflower tortillas. I can't wait to try them! And a lemon bar for later!

I don't know the history here, and perhaps it's a new market and just getting off the ground. Clear weather the day I went, so the sparse crowd was not due to weather. The free wine day was one vendor from a place I've not heard of. Not a local winery. Was told they purchase grapes locally and vinify at their production facility. Cabernet and three sweet wines. Had a quick taste from a little plastic cup and wandered on. No different than wine a samples at the grocery store, and one indistinct vendor with prosaic selections. Went with a couple of lively friends. Fairly quick stroll through. Pleasant enough but forgettable. Photos are from the surrounding Co-Op District.

Braved the visible haze of juniper pollen to visit the farmers market at Lakeline mall and all was good when I had an ample cup of Nita's hot chocolate and a tasty breakfast taco. Best hot chocolate that I've had, should have purchased a jar of fixins... I believe Nita melts chunks of Belgian chocolate and adds some white choc for sweetness and smoothing the edges. Took home some pork and green chile stew to consume on one of our upcoming chilly nights. I have made a similar veg version in the past and it's great on brown rice or for poaching an egg or two... Nita's version has tomatillo and poblanos... Got a bag of ginger snaps to have with afternoon tea... a good traditional g-snap anyway, I'm thrilled that Nita is doing the cooking for me

Her Roasted Red Pepper Hummus is so amazing and helps me make one of the best roasted veggie sandwich I have ever tasted at home. Her yummy Frittata is also not to be missed!

I don't want to be a hater, but this Farmers Market doesn't seem to be trending in the right…read moredirection. There aren't many vendors left. Some vendors (like Talisman Coffee) aren't here any more, despite being advertised. My last visit, I got a bad jar of pickles (at $10) from one vendor. In general, there's not much at this market, and what is there is very expensive.

There is a lot of parking available, and it isn't on a too-busy street, yet convenient to major avenues nearby. Vendors range from fused glass jewelry and delicate pottery to honey and bee products, children's handmade clothing, paper works of art, ballcaps, bow ties and scarves for your stylish pets, Indian style bedspreads and tablecloths, and more. We sampled it as soon as we got home and... oh so good! I haven't had pomegranate jelly since I was a kid and my grandma was making it. Our next purchase was Spicy Sauerkraut and a Red Sauerkraut that we sampled on site. I had to get a jar of each. Next stop was HEB for Texas made sausage and red potatoes to go with the sauerkraut for dinner. I hope there are more produce vendors in the future but there are several local artisans selling there craft of soaps, candles, fresh floral arrangements and much more as well. I also heard that local ranchers usually sell fresh meats.
