I still like the vibe, and walk around and see and talk to people. I did get dumplings because I love Red Dragon. I wasn't even hungry. But I didn't want to miss out. The dumplings are 6 for $12.00 but they threw in an extra dumpling for me, which I appreciated. I got the pork dumplings. They were fresh, hot and steamy. I found a place to sit in the sun at a picnic table. Plugged in my head phone, cranked some music and enjoy my dumplings. Gorgeous day to be out in the sun. Nice breeze, and warm temps. Perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

There's a great variety of stands to explore -- everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to homemade salsas, pastries (with both gluten and gluten-free options), bao buns, matcha, wines, and more. It feels like there's something for everyone! The owners are so friendly too and very welcoming. What I really appreciate is how convenient the parking is. There are plenty of garage spots available, so you don't have to stress about finding a place to park. And since it's located right at The Domain, you can make a whole day out of it -- shop, eat, and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun and laid-back weekend outing!

A few notes: -Plenty of parking but the entrance is steep! Be careful leaving so you don't scrape your car. -The automatic front door is finicky. If it doesn't open, that doesn't mean they're closed; back up and approach again. -Cash only for purchases under $10. It seems like most people go for the prepared foods, but I was in it for the ewa oloyin, egusi, and red palm oil. Fantastic success on all three points. It's really hard to find African staples, even shopping online, so I'm glad we have this shop as a resource in town!

Even after asking a worker to assist, he kindly did so but also missed it. He probably didn't realize that the container had changed either but just as we gave up, I noticed it on a lower shelf. Hopefully, this "new" pepper performs as anticipated. It is a small stored with a reasonable variety of cultural finds. I have no idea why I was surprised to find a restaurant in the back - a pleasant surprise no less. Perhaps I may order when I next pass through. The ok review is only because I have yet to try anything from the store, however, they were willing to assist, checkout was fast and easy, and I was able to purchase what I was looking for.

I rate this place a 3 because there is some work to be done to get this market ramped up and really stocked with goodies. I visited during the weekly Saturday 9 am to 1 pm hours to find a small handful of vendors. There were several arts and crafts stands, a masseuse, and a couple of jelly/preserves sellers. There were a few produce vendors, but selection was pretty limited. I did get some nice locally grown squash. I'm not sure how much the limited selection had to do with the horrific summer we've had or if it was the newness of the market. My favorite vendor was Richardson Farms. They were offering free range eggs, chicken, pork products (including fresh uncured bacon), and grass fed beef. The eggs and pork we bought were reasonably priced and freaking delicious. This isn't yet a major farmer's market, so some visitors might be a bit disappointed with the selection. It is my hope that this one will pick up momentum and draw more shoppers and vendors.

There was only about 9 vendors there but there was enough stuff to make a few meals all around. Fresh baked breads and organic pastas, fresh veggies such as squash, maters, taters, and onions, jellies, salsas, farm raised meats, and even cupcakes for dessert! Not to mention some jewelry, honey and pralines. Living out in the hinterlands of Cedar Park, I was super stoked to find out about this (thanks Chris S!). I haven't found any CSA's to deliver to my house, but I can now order from some of these folks online and then pick up on Saturdays here. And it beats the hell outta getting up early Saturdays and driving all the way to San Antonio (aka Sunset Valley). Richardson Farms provides grass fed beef and pork and chicken, and another stall had what's called "design your dine" with pre-frozen fresh organic dinners that you just thaw out and cook and they say each one is only about 500 calories. Came home with some zukes, some pasta, a coupla pork chops and some fanfreakintasticly fresh pico de gallo from Kala's Kuisine, which apparently has won 2 years in a row now at the Hot Sauce Festival (and I can see why). I would encourage all my fellow Northerners to check this out.....but I still wanna keep it my own private farmers market. Enigma.

Guests stroll the gorgeous grounds of Barr Mansion while enjoying live music, nibbling on locally sourced cuisine and sipping adult beverages. This year it was great seeing so many local beverages provided by Argus Cidery, Glazers, Hops & Grain, Independence Brewing Co., Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Tipsy Texan, and Zhi Tea. From savory to sweet the chefs prepared creative cuisine to share with guests. The portions are small enough to sample many of what the restaurants are serving yet large enough that one's appetite is satisfied as the event comes to an end. Some of my favorites dishes were: Italic - walnut olive oil cake with mascarpone and blackberry. I loved that this dessert was more savory vs sweet. Lick Ice Cream - Roasted beet & mint Ice cream with honey cream, goat cheese and chocolate waffle. Delysia Chocolate - Raspberry truffle; potato, smoked cheese, bacon and chive truffle. I don't know how chocolatier Nicole Pitel comes up with these flavors but she's a genius! The Bribery Bakery - strawberry lime brown butter blondie. This was my first time trying Jodi Elliot's sweets and I was incredibly impressed. Eden East - Hay smoked red fish with pickled garlic chip, lemon confit, dill kennebec potato pancake and crispy fish skin. Bonneville - savory Korean style braised lamb steamed buns. Their nationally recognized Happy Kitchen program is a cooking and nutrition education program that helps grows skills in food selection and preparation. SFC also has a Farm Direct program which brings together local growers, schools, urban residents, and institutional food service operations worksites in demand of fresh produce through weekly SFC Farmers' Markets and direct marketing projects, such as farm-to-cafeteria, farm-to-school, and farm-to-work. We're talking ten years folks and just a couple of interactions. Still, super sweet lady. Her kiddos Max and Cosmo even spent some time with then little Rooster back in the day. My review is purely based on her creations. Been wanting to try A.K.A Mixology forever. Thing is the farmers market locations she chose to sell at were far away from my ranch in Driftwood. Enter recently founded Desert Door Distillery that's actually on my street in Driftwood. After a couple of weeks of visiting and sampling the drinks I went ahead and suggested AKA without ever trying the mixers. Alicia dropped by the distillery and picked up a bottle of sotol to match flavors. When she returned...OMG...I can't even imagine the thought process in creating what she produced. Immediate fave being the tamarind which was introduced to our continent in the 16th century. Heavily popular in Mexico and South America it was a perfect match. Next fave would be the hurricane mixer eventually called "Desert Storm" at the distillery. Heck, all of her offerings were top notch! Austin bars and restaurants take notice! Just like y'all head to the farmers market for local veggies; take a moment and stop by AKA's booth and consider her for the front of house libations. Personally, glad my tenure in Yelp land could make this happen. I combined a business that I'd always wanted to try with a new neighborhood venture that I'm a regular at. I'll drive wherever AKA is selling it's wares!
