I know I look like an uncultured American by ordering a burger but desperate times call for desperate measures. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality. I just wish the burger had some more sauce. The fries were cooked well and I enjoyed the Mayo dip. Service was very quick for French standards and there was no wait.

Delicious coffee, apple juice, and breakfasts with great staff. Apricot jam was really good, eggs Benedict was delightfully full of flavor, and pain au chocolat was thoroughly enjoyed.

This review is way late but better late than never. We ate here while visiting Paris in the summer and it was delicious. A cute little quaint Paris cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. The coke soda in France is on another level let's just get that out of the way first, it hits different. I had the mushroom and onion risotto and it was delicious. See for yourself. It's a pet friendly place by the way too!

First time here I had the pepper steak (veritable steak) and wow that was delicious French fries were great. The chicken on the Cesar salad was tasteful and delicious I give the steak a 9/10. Delicious. Highly recommend it.

First time dining and had a fantastic time! Came towards the later part of the night but had an amazing steak frites, creme brulee and a coke! Service was fast and friendly! Definitely recommended !

Came here for breakfast and had the eggs Benedict. It was good. Eggs were nicely poached, bacon was large and crisp and the hollandaise sauce was good - not too thick. Great if you're looking for more than just pastries for breakfast.

This sidewalk café in Le Marais is where you go to see and be seen. It was packed both inside and out, but we were able to snag a table right outside, situated on their bustling corner with perfect people-watching views. I went with a carafe of passionfruit juice, while my friend a couple beers on tap. The service was friendly and we were attended to by a few waiters. I love that in Paris you're never rushed to give up your seat, taking as much time as you want, even if you're simply mulling over drinks. The chic gals next to us were downing bottomless bowls of salads that looked quite tasty too.

We popped in here for lunch specifically because it looked way more busy than any of the surrounding cafes, which to me just screams that it's a favorite for the locals. That being said, both the hostess and waiter spoke English and were more than happy to answer our questions. Even though it was packed, we only waited about 10 minutes to get a seat. Service: friendly wait staff though very slow to take orders. One thing I've noticed about Paris in general is that if you don't order your food at the same time they take your drink order, then you may not see your waiter for another 20 minutes. We eventually just flagged ours down to bring him back to our table to take our order. The food: delicious! We got the Madame burger and the croque jeune fille. I had ordered the burger medium well and although it came to our table cooked medium, I was happy for it. The meat was very fresh and juicy and tasty all the way through. The croque was equally delicious and way bigger than what we expected! One of the other reviewers had described it as being "anorexic" but I don't know what the heck she was talking about. One order would have been enough to feed both of us even if we hadn't ordered the burger. read more

Expensive but so worth it! All brasseries in Paris look the same but this one reigns supreme!

It gets crowded. But the ambience is lively and the food very good. You are also in front of Le Marche Des Enfants Rouges, which is a must see when in Paris. read more

Cafe Charlot was very close to the apartment I stayed in in Paris, and was one of the few restaurants open early enough for North American tourists who want an early start to the day. Great coffee and breakfast items for a reasonable price, and what I consider the best croissants that I found during my stay. If you're going for brunch, it must be on a Sunday from noon to 2PM; my girlfriend and I made the mistake of arriving around 11AM, and missed out on our only chance to try it. I tried the beef tartar during one visit, and it was both substantial and delicious. I recommend this place for anyone who visits Paris, and is in the neighborhood. read more

Cafe Charlot was the best restaurant we found in the Marais. It's a little pricey, but the food is fantastic and the wait staff are all super friendly (and speak good English, too). We went here twice (breakfast and lunch) during our week here, and I just left our last dinner in Paris wishing we had gone back to Cafe Charlot instead. read more

I had a late lunch here over the weekend, and it was quite good for for the price. I had salmon with a pasta/cream sauce. In particular, I really enjoyed the pasta. Overall, it was a place that would make my list of restaurants to go back to in Paris. read more

Round the corner from where I live so have been going regularly since the place opened. I tend to go through periods of thinking that it's great -- and then going off the place. First thing to say is that it is not a typical Paris bistrot. The place reminds me of Disneyland. Built for tourists to feel like they're in the typical Paris place. Watiers well dressed in uniform, efficient staff -- who can be rude if you don't put them back in their place -- it's smaller than you might expect. Average morning -- customers are a mix of locals -- generally having coffee at the bar, as if you stand up it's less than half price -- and tourists who'll sit and order "café au lait" in poor French with a thick accent. It's one of the only places in the neghborhood where you'll be able to order a hot breakfast. In the evenings, gets lively. Lunch time on a weekend best to avoid -- just too crowded for the tiny place available. read more

taste like shit. one side of the chop was entirely overcooked and burned black. it was too crowed. What's more, way too expensive. There are many good cafes in Paris and this one would be your very last choice. read more
