Stopped here for drinks with a friend while walking around the neighborhood. We were drawn in by the excitement of the restaurant. It was packed and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We asked to sit at the bar which we were kindly told we could do. I ended up getting a martini which was delicious. A block from the Musée Orsay, this quaint café/bar features excellent food at reasonable prices. My wife and I shared a steak and frittes. Steak was tender and flavorful with its garlic based sauce and the frittes were hand cut and generously served. We noticed that the local lunch crowd favored the burgers, which did look very good, so big that most of the people cut them up. read more

A great visit to the Museé d'Orsay, all the impressionist masters. Then, starving and ready to get off our aching feet, we chanced on this cafe nearby, with good ratings and further from the madding crowds. The croque monsieur was exactly what I wanted, after googling and understanding 'melted ham and cheese sandwich.' Also French onion soup. In France. Very good, satisfying, just what we needed for a pick-me-up before we were off to the Museé Carnavalet. Also recommended. read more

While we knew this restaurant was more geared towards tourists wanting to try classic French dishes, we wanted to experience the hype built around the restaurants located on this street (close to the Jardin sea Tuileries and the Louvre Museum). [Ambiance] The vibes here were cozy, leaning towards the modern side (less bistro-y and more quirky, 21st Century decor). There were a lot of people but it didn't feel too crowded. [Service] The service was great! Our waiter was attentive and kind. We didn't feel rushed and well taken care of. [Food] We got a glass of Bordeaux each, which we enjoyed with our meal. We also got the duck breast, beef bourguinon, and roasted chicken. We also got the 6-piece snail/escargot. We finished off with profiteroles. The escargot was amazing -- super flavorful but not overpowering. Would get again. The duck breast was also great. It was a little on the tough side, but the flavor was good. It came with sweet potato mash/purée. Would get again as well. The beef bourguinon was solid. If you really like the flavor of beef, you'd enjoy this. We dipped some mashed potatoes that came with the roasted duck and the combination was amazing. Would get again as well. The roasted chicken was a little hard to eat and parts of it looked a bit undercooked. There also wasn't that much meat, despite it being a whole (albeit small) chicken! The mashed potato it came with was tasty -- chunky yet creamy. Would skip this one but maybe get the potatoes on the side? We liked the dessert. It was nothing super new, but it was great to finish off our meal with something sweet. We liked that it came with a heated chocolate sauce that we could pour over the profiteroles. Had a wonderful late lunch here around 2 pm and man this place was busy and filled with plenty of people in here. It's quite a small space but it fits a ton of people. We waited in line for a bit but got seated inside with these cute wooden chairs and small round tables. Ordered a French onion soup, I love my French onion soup when I'm in Paris. I seem to always order it if it is on the menu! It's large and able to share. The onions are plenty and the cheese is amazing! Ordered a duck foie gras which was so good! I love the taste and rich creamy texture. Also ordered some snails that were eaten in seconds. For the main got a roasted chicken which was so tasty and crispy! I enjoy roast chicken when in Europe they know how to make it good and flavorful! Also, a rib-eye steak was cooked perfectly. I am very sorry to give this restaurant a bad review since we have been coming here since it opened. We spend the month of May in Paris every year and usually ate here twice a week. Today, we brought a friend visiting from the US and I was bragging about how good the food is. We ordered octopus which I have had many times here over the years. Today, the portion was so small that it wasn't even the size of an appetizer and this was the full plate dinner at 28 Euros. We both left hungry. My partner also ordered a cheeseburger with fries and all of the fries were broken into small pieces indicating that they were from the bottom of a pan. I was very upset and after we paid the bill, I went to speak to the manager. He apologized but never offered anything in return. I feel totally taken advantage of and will not go back again. read more

We didn't love the ambiance for a hot summer day as it was dark and hot inside but I could see why my friend who came during a cooler month enjoyed it. We chose to sit outside facing the street and had cockerel which is a whole small chicken which was great. We also ordered the french onion soup which my sister loved but I thought it was okay. Lastly we had the grilled octopus that was very tasty but they gave us such a small portion. The one thing that rubbed me the wrong way is that when the check came the waiter actually looked at us and said, "service is included, but would you like to leave a tip?" I understand that service charges are not a separate charge on the bill (as they are in London) but the way he put us on the spot made it very awkward and close to impossible to not leave something. But if service is included then why would I feel obliged to leave a tip? Because of how he handled that situation which made us extremely uncomfortable I would not recommend this place. read more

I'm not entirely sure that the staff wanted us to be here. They sat us down in the back corner when we arrived and we did not see anyone for another 20 minutes. Service improved after we ordered, but it shouldn't take that long for anyone to acknowledge us. The food here was alright. I was not blown away and for the €15+ price tags of even the most basic items, I hardly found it worthwhile. You're paying for the location, although when you're inside in the back you hardly notice it. Additionally, it is very hot inside. Air circulates very poorly, so on a warm summer day it feels warmer inside than out. I think I sweat more inside the restaurant than I did the entire rest of my day combined. read more

Amazing meal here for our last night in Paris. So glad we wandered past a few other bistros on the street to get here. Excellent wine, salad, and a ridiculously decadent cheeseburger - which might sound like a basic choice, but with so much competition their bistro burger stands above the crowd. We wished we had seen the specials sign before we ordered because they had an amazing looking roast chicken on the menu this night as well. We had a creme brûlée for dessert - because why not? - and it was very good as well. Tasted like it was made from scratch as opposed to something that was pre-made and plated for us, which many other bistros seem to do. On our list to go back to the next time we're staying in Paris, a great way to close out our trip. read more

Bistro in the Saint Germain area of Paris' 7th Arrondissement. Walked by this restaurant on the way to our hotel each day and finally decided to come in for a between meals snack and a few drinks. The place is quaint with an old feel, cozy decor and a small bar oozing with character. The waiter we had was excellent, spoke great English and would eventually engage me in some great European football conversation, while providing great service. Great wines are recommended here and were highly enjoyed, especially after coming in from the cold. We ordered the escargot and a cheese plate with multiple cheeses and cold meats. Everything was excellent, particularly the cheeses, and we wished we were hungrier and able to try more of what looked like some delicious menu items. Definitely wish we'd had more time to re visit this restaurant as it was great in all aspects. read more

Prefect spot! We were walking back from Joel Robuchon and wanted to get some coffee and a digestiv. Michel was working the door and beckoned us in. A couple of digestivs later we were heading out to watch the PSG - Dijon match on Michel's advice. Tickets online were over $200, we had a choice from $60 at the stadium. Came back afterwards for a nightcap. Service is exemplary, just had bar food which was great by Parisenne standards and a great location. Next time I am in Paris i will definitely drop by! read more
