B and I have been talking about trying desserts in Paris. I am big on desserts. So we stumbled into…read moreLe Stube. Then we found out that this place specializes in German pastries and cakes. B got a double espresso and the Sachertorte and I got the lemon meringue tart. My lemon meringue tart was delicious. B liked his sachertorte. Food wise would be 4 stars. So you ask why 2 stars. When the server bought the double espresso she spilled it allover the floor and B's white shirt. Coffee stains are super hard to remove. It was early in the day and B was left with a dirty shirt. She gave 5 euro off our food but she also got the coffee on my pants and shoe as well. Luckily my shoe is black and my pants were jeans. So it was not as visible as B's white shirt. She also got it on the guy sitting beside us. The carelessness really took the stars out of everything. It is embarrassing for B to walk around with a stained shirt. It was everywhere. Also the server didn't really know how to react quickly. she did try her best to clean it up quickly. I found it funny how she asked if she got the spill over our cloths. B shirt was obviously stained and can be seen with the naked eyes.

EVERYTHING was delicious. The bread was warm, and soft, and you could tell it was just freshly made. They even whip their own cream. Just Amazing! Can't give enough credit on their service too. They had no more whipped cream, and noticed we were sad about it and went to buy some for us. Besides that, every employee greeted us and treated us incredibly nice. The ambiance was really nice. Small, yet wonderful location, with enough room to serve my party of 5, immediately, and had plenty other customers enjoying the food. If I could give more then 5 stars I would.

Date of visit: 12 September 2022…read more My very French-averse husband wanted a place where he could have an English-language menu that also met his particular palate. After reviewing all of the options at Disney Village, he decided that King Ludwig's Castle fit the bill the best, but it was an ultimately disappointing meal all-around. We were seated promptly but given French menus. Not a big deal, we were able to figure out what we needed to. But it took an eternity to be visited by the server. I actually was ready to leave and find something else but we stayed and the server was very friendly, if not very good. I ordered the Prince combo meal of the braised pork and creme brulee, but it wasn't priced correctly on the check. Given how long the meal took, I just let it go and ate the $4. The pork was not very good at all, though the mashed potatoes that came with it were fantastic. The creme brulee was decent, but disappointing in that it was a bit watery, and less flan/custardy as it should have been. The biggest disappointment was that this was my husband's first taste of creme brulee.

After just an okay experience visiting both Disney Paris parks, we definitely didn't want to eat…read moreinside the park. (The food was horrendous!) We walked around the area to take in more of Disney atmosphere. It was important for us to eat something that we couldn't get back in the US. For a split second we thought of going to Rainforest Cafe, but we have those back home. Since there aren't a lot of German offerings in San Diego, we figured we should give King Ludwig's a try. (I'll admit, the castle caught my eye.) For our appetizer/snack we got a pretzel. I have to say, I was a little bit disappointed. It was kind of dry on the inside. I was in a princess/castle mood, so I went with the pink princess colada. It was very refreshing and absolutely delish! Ordering off the prix fixe menu, I got the caesar salad and pork shank with sauerkraut. The caesar salad had awesome French cheese, which really made the salad shine. The pork shank with sauerkraut was a hearty meal. I'm thinking that the amount of sauerkraut probably was equal to the weight of the meat. To be honest, I'm not too familiar with German food, so I don't really know how to judge the authenticity or quality of the pork shank. It was tasty and that's what mattered the most to me. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous! You really do feel like you're eating in a castle. The waitstaff was also top notch. In conclusion, I recommend eating here, and leave the tasteless hamburger or chicken sandwich in the park.
