EVERYTHING was delicious. The bread was warm, and soft, and you could tell it was just freshly made. They even whip their own cream. Just Amazing! Can't give enough credit on their service too. They had no more whipped cream, and noticed we were sad about it and went to buy some for us. Besides that, every employee greeted us and treated us incredibly nice. The ambiance was really nice. Small, yet wonderful location, with enough room to serve my party of 5, immediately, and had plenty other customers enjoying the food. If I could give more then 5 stars I would.

B got a double espresso and the Sachertorte and I got the lemon meringue tart. My lemon meringue tart was delicious. B liked his sachertorte. Food wise would be 4 stars. So you ask why 2 stars. When the server bought the double espresso she spilled it allover the floor and B's white shirt. Coffee stains are super hard to remove. It was early in the day and B was left with a dirty shirt. She gave 5 euro off our food but she also got the coffee on my pants and shoe as well. Luckily my shoe is black and my pants were jeans. So it was not as visible as B's white shirt. She also got it on the guy sitting beside us. The carelessness really took the stars out of everything. It is embarrassing for B to walk around with a stained shirt. It was everywhere. Also the server didn't really know how to react quickly. she did try her best to clean it up quickly. I found it funny how she asked if she got the spill over our cloths. B shirt was obviously stained and can be seen with the naked eyes.

My husband and I recently dined at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon on a quiet Wednesday night in Paris. We have been here before and enjoyed our evenings, but recent reviews made me wonder if we had made a mistake returning. We were delighted to discover the restaurant to still be as welcoming as ever, with top notch food. We wisely stuck to the specials recommended by our waiter. We shared a dish of spaghetti literally drowning in black truffles. It was superb, not to be missed if you are a fan of truffles (which we definitely are). Our shared main was the Dover sole, an entree we've had at lunch, but not in the evening. As ever, it was expertly prepared, and served with the justly famous potato puree with enough butter to make a cardiologist faint. For dessert we shared a lemon dome with marscapone and ice cream that was superb. We shared a lovely bottle of wine recommended by the very cordial sommelier. Perhaps we were just fortunate to have come on a night with a particularly winning special plat, but it seemed to us that L'Atelier Joel Robuchon is still providing an excellent dining experience. It is not an inexpensive meal, but we regret nothing!

In most restaurants the server would ask you if you'd like another glass. If i had purchased a bottle? i'm sure i would have been pouring my own wine. after we watched the back of our waiter's head for 20 minutes enjoying his conversation with another guest. Meanwhile the room only had 10 other guests, tops . we started to loose it. then waiting for the check while our waiter started another conversation across the restaurant. That was another 20 minutes. I literally had to get up and walk to the hostess and demand my check so we could leave. 7:30 reservation. we left at 10:30 If i had to rate the service overall? i would give it a 3. that's unacceptable for these prices. what a shame. Ambiance was great at 1st until everyone cleared out and we felt like we weren't appreciated or that important. i guess it's fair to say we won't be going back. What a shame . great food. horrible service. Chef Robuchon is the real deal.

However, the Astroblonde (blonde pils) and Atomique (brunette) were very good. (BTW, I have never heard of a pilsner described as blonde, but the website and a different restaurant's server described it this way. I am going with it.) Bar Demory has draught beers. It features a long, narrow casual bar seating area and bar tables. In the back, there is space for private parties and for a DJ. Interestingly, they have a decibels meter above the DJ platform. Downstairs is a kitchen, free pinball machine, and the bathrooms. Those bathrooms were quite nice for a bar! Happy Hour ends around 8pm or so. At any point in time, you can order food here. They specialize in sausages and have a number of flavors. You can order them in a sandwich (like a hotdog, sort of) or two to a plate with a side of your choice (potatoes and cheese or delicious lentils). My plus one and I shared the plate: La Coquette d'Asia (chicken-based, Thai basil, ginger, citron served with a sweet spicy sauce) and Peggy des montagnes (ham and cheese). He loved the Asian one, and I loved the Peggy. Go figure. Order upstairs at the bar. Within so many minutes (10 for us), the food is ready for pick-up downstairs. Tables are hard to find during happy hour. UPDATE: Two months later, my guy and I are still missing the food, beer, and pinball machine. It's worth the visit!
