Tuna and sweetcorn on olive bread, with carrot ginger soup
    Ellen M.

I'm happy to give five stars to this coffehouse/restaurant. My friends and I went for lunch today, and everything was excellent. The soup du jour was carrot ginger, non-dairy. Delicious, and the four of us all agreed. Also enjoyed was the tuna and sweetcorn sandwich with thinly sliced picked cucumbers on olive bread, a sun blushed tomato and greens, and a bacon and brie with cranberries. All sandwiches come with tender greens on the side. One friend got an espresso, which she rated "A+." The service was very nice and friendly. Very casual and comfortable. Oh yes, free wifi. My first non-U.S. review!

Cafe Class is a nice, no frills wee cafe in the Tollcross area of Edinburgh. It serves up cheap cups of tea and coffee, panini's generously packed with the filling of your choice and full Scottish breakfasts for under a fiver. The decor is welcoming and pleasant - nothing too fancy but that's ideal if you're just stopping by for a nice cup of tea. It's clean, fresh and the food is good. There are a few tables but it's equally as good for a take away. But the best thing about Cafe Class is they are open later into the evening than most diners of this description, making it perfect for grabbing a quick bite to eat before the pub or a visit to the nearby Cameo cinema. It lives up to its name, and is class indeed if you're looking for a quick snack.

The cafe is small, but they have good food and coffee. I had the morning roll and a vanilla latte. Both were amazing and very tasteful. Don't let the morning roll fool you because it will fill you up. The only bad thing was that it open late by maybe 5 minutes, but it was well worth the wait. Highly recommend.

    Baked potato, cheese and beans!

Sopping wet, I sought refuge in this little place. Whilst the deluge of rain continued outside, I plonked myself on at one of their little tables, wary of soaking my neighbours like a wet dog. After I was settled, I didn't feel cramped at all. This place is one of the few places that have a great chai tea latte (from a bag/leaf, instead of a powder). Warm, spicy and with a drizzle of honey, perfect. If nothing else, I will be returning here for that! I also ordered a baked potato with cheese and beans, expecting the generic fare offered by most places. I can honestly say I was taken aback (in a good way) by the presentation. I'll see if I can upload a picture, for I fear that my words will not do it justice. But it tasted excellent - and that's the important bit right?

Chill vibes for coffee-drinkers and foodies alike. Staff is friendly and sweet. I was greeted by a welcoming atmosphere of warm lights, eclectic decor, and laid-back Spanish music. Menu is good for brunch, lunch, or snack time, and it speaks to a variety of tastes. I had hot tea served in a small teapot with a (huge) yummy bagel topped with egg and avocado. Great spot for reading and conversation. Not the place to be if in a hurry. At the counter, you can order a coffee or food to go if you do not want to sit but I suggest you do!

Lentil and tomato soup with olive bread

I've had the chance to stop by Cafe Class a few times as my good friend works across the street and it's a very convenient place for us to go to for lunch. The cafe has very welcoming decor and friendly service. I've had their soups a number of times and have never been disappointed. Their sandwiches are good and I enjoyed the club sandwich, especially with the tasty bean pate. They do a really good olive bread with hummus, which I recommend. I keep telling myself that one day I'm going to have some cake from there... they all look extremely tempting, but I somehow run out of time... one day.

The best thing about Cafe Class is that there is no class. Wholesome sausage butties, cheesy melt paninis and other builder's favourites are all here within the guise of a very ordinary cafe. Assuming you don't accidentally wander into the owners living quarter on your way to the loo, pay up for the cheap eats and hand back the HP sauce, you'll be in for a satisfying no-frills eat.

    Nice literary art.

The Edinburgh Larder was the answer. We arrived right at opening. We were seated immediately and the place is casual clean and welcoming. The service was excellent and I got the traditional Scottish breakfast. Haggis and all and it was excellent, filing and worth walking in the light mist. The Mushroom Toast was very tasty according to my wife. The place is small and part of the larger establishment next door but still the same great food. You want authentic Scottish breakfast hot up the Edinburgh Larder and you will not be disappointed!

Once one area is full they will sit u to the other area! I was sitting right by the window and it was lovely. The decor is cozy and homie! The server is very friendly and I ordered full Scottish breakfast to try out everything and chai latte. It came fairly fast and it was a very full dish. I tried all the food and they are all yummy. The blood pudding is not quite my favorite. And the bean with the red sauce is a little too spicy for me. But overall it is very good. Chai latte is super yummy and not overly sweet!

Scotland's weather is basically all season daily. You never know what you'll get...lol... Of course the rain started and we happened to be right here. Just to get warm as well, this place seemed very cozy. Inside you feel the warm homey cottage feel. Fresh baked cakes, smell of coffee and tea. They also serve food as well. There's the main dining area along the entrance with the cakes on full display for everyone to see. A small room in the back as well as a loft and downstairs. Of course restrooms are downstairs. All the staff were amazing and very friendly. All so welcoming. The cakes were amazing and paired very well with a coffee or tea. I'm not sure if it's baked in house but the selections they offered, it was amazing. So many too chose from. It's not a crazy big place but the warm cozy feeling right when you walk in was amazing. I came pretty close to the opening and was able to select my choice for seats. I picked a table near the window for natural lighting. They have a table of a lot of tasty treats and while I didn't get a chance to try them all, I can attest to the scone being very tasty! I ordered the Cream Tea (I think I ordered the Lemon and Elderflower) which comes with a freshly baked homemade scone (I chose a fruit one), and a cup of tea €6.80. I decided to upgrade to a pot of tea (€7.75) and added a bowl of porridge (€5.50) with jam as I usually prefer savory breakfasts. This was more than enough to eat for one, but I just enjoy trying different items - does anyone else have this problem? lol I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here as the ambiance, food and tea were homey and intimate. Food was great, coffee hit the spot, and service was excellent. Even with the chaos they keep the place clean. Also, BEWARE they do not have hot sauce here LOL.
