Convenient, easy location to find with a cozy interior. Service was amazing. Waiter was very helpful when I asked questions about dishes and when I ordered something, he made sure I knew what I was ordering. I ordered the Short Rib Agnolotti.. Think of a really soft piece of short rib in a pasta shell, very similar to ravioli. We also ordered the bruschetta, spaghetti, and risotto and those options are also really great, but that Agnolotti was the star of the show. Keep in mind, this is a pre COVID-19 review and I still cannot get over how delicious this meal was. I absolutely cannot wait to go back and introduce more friends to the best pasta of my life. read more

Great spot. Cozy, well decorated to be cute and warm. Nora Jones and Jack Johnson playing quietly in the background. Food is excellent with well-balanced plates. Duck fat fries, what's not to love?! Roast rump of lamb delivered perfectly medium rare with beans and olive tapenade (could have done without the olive). Wife called this her best bite of lamb in New Zealand, and trust me. She tried them all! Rocket salad, great. Fresh pears, nice vinaigrette dressing. Great palette cleanser. Too full for dessert. Will come back tomorrow. read more

Food was adequate. Nothing was spectacular, or even worth eating again. We were a group of 8 with a reservation. We were seated in a back room that we had to ourselves, but it so secluded that it had none of the atmosphere of the front of the restaurant. The server wasn't familiar with the menu, nor was he a native English speaker, so ordering was a bit of a chore to the point where we were all certain something was going to come out wrong. To his credit, the food all came out correctly. The other negative, it took probably an hour and a half to get our mains. Not sure why pasta and pizza should take that long. The risotto with prawns was probably the best main. The pizzas were also well-received. The pastas were disappointing, though. They just weren't memorable, weren't that flavorful, and the sauce was more like a broth, which was unexpected. Overall, the experience would be 3-star for the food, but the very long wait, lack of atmosphere, etc makes it closer to 2-stars. If we had it to do over again, we would try the Oyster Inn instead. read more

What a gem! I've eaten a lot of pizza - probably a bit too much in my life(!) - but this was among the best pizzas I've had. I ordered the Salsiccia Di Maiale - it was perfect. Delicious sausage and bacon , a crispy crust, and just the right amount of cheese to sauce ratio. The olive appetizer is also a must have. This is a cozy spot, with great service. Only having 2 nights on the island and so many appealing restaurants, we chose here. We had not booked, so when we walked in and saw it was pretty much full it looked doubtful we would get an indoors table, still a bit chilly to sit outside. The selection of dishes was not vast (excluding the pizza), which is someways made it easier, but me being a fussy eater, it was harder. In the end, I had Mushroom ricotta ravioli, and my wife had the fish of the day. Our meals were not too long in winging they way out to us. We both enjoyed them and thought the pricing was about average for our dishes. I think in the summer months, booking ahead would be a very wise choice. I did like the small cozy atmosphere, the staff were quite friendly. read more

Unfortunately had a disappointing breakfast experience at Café Fenice on Waiheke last weekend. The place wasn't particularly busy but we were ignored for the first 15 minutes, having to get our own menus, water, and then request for someone to take our order. When it came out, my meal was fine, but my dining partner's was not - they'd forgotten the bacon and butter, there was a tiny slice of bread, the $5 extra mushroom side was just three miniscule ones, and so the meal was mainly just a big bowl of baked beans. When he went to complain, they offered to take the bacon off the bill... which is rubbish compensation when the bacon never eventuated! In the end when we said we weren't paying for the meal, they agreed and apologised. It was a shame because the café itself is lovely, and I have had a nice lunch there before. I'm willing to give the place another chance though, so I'll write a new review if that happens - I have heard good things about dinner. I may have to take a different dining partner though as my breakfast companion is not too keen to go back! read more

Our last meal at this beautiful Waiheke Island Italian restaurant was a special treat and most definitely falls into the category of degustation. Our two families took up a long table and first to come out were the house marinated olives, Bruschetta and the platter of salami, prosciutto, mortadella, fruit chutney dill pickles, caperberries and roasted tomatoes, all quickly devoured by the hungry beach-goers. Between us we went through the mains menu and all was delicious. I got the pan fried fish, others had sirloin, Pizzas, Fettuccine Marinara and Ragu, the Risotto was a little too adventurous for a teenager but promptly devoured by others. To finish, desserts of Limone, Tiramisu and Gelato & Sorbetto to share. Highly recommended. read more

Stopped in for a slice of pizza and a salad. We asked for a special order of pizza and they made it, with a smile, exactly as we liked. Had two salads. Both were excellent. Was accompanied by a toddler who drank too much lemonade. He urinated on their floor. They were totally cool with it and even took and washed and dried his shorts while we waited! Great service, delicious food, and Sahazam-worthy music played not too loud in the background. A great experience. read more

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. The atmosphere was cozy and quiet and the wait staff was very friendly. They had a decent wine selection and the food was beyond good. We started our meal with the Bruschetta which we shared, I had the Pappardelle (which blew my mind) - my wife had the prosciutto pizza (also incredible).
