I spoke to someone working out the front who directed me to the manager who was more than happy to talk to me about the farm and what they grow there. You can buy vegetables on-site or they also sell their produce at a farmers' market. He was preparing for a meeting at the time but offered to show me around the farm if I was able to come another time. As well as a range of organic vegetables they also have free range eggs and lamb. I have also since found out that Hamlin Farm provides work opportunities for people who have experienced mental illness and assisting their transition into the workforce. Awesome.

This recent visit I tried some rice wrapped in a banana leaf with banana and coconut cream/milk from a lady from Laos; it was delicious! Thankyou lady from Laos... and for you pre-made dried spice and herb pack and sesame balls I bought too:) Yummo! Stall holders are well representative of the bounty our region offers, organic breads, organic butchers, fresh fruits and vegetables, cheeses, olive oils and preserves. And there are plenty of yummy treats to taste whilst here because shopping for all of this delicious fresh food makes you hungry. If we are early enough there is street parking, or you can park on the facility for a tiny fee. Next door is Artisan Wines and their gorgeous restaurant.

My kitchen counter is proudly displaying a big bowl of micro-green radish sprouts & I feel healthier every time I look at them! But Boric also has: a fresh fish counter, butchery, deli, icecream by the scoop, coffee, homemade cakes, dinners & salads, a kids' playground AND a boutique selection of homewares & the finest artisan products. And friendly staff. And a great wine, beer & cider selection. And I've probably missed something out. This is the kind of place that you could easily wander around for ages, progressively filling up that trolley more & more. I can see that will quickly become my new hobby!

Parking was an issue. Great variety of vendors. My first day in NZ (flew in overnight) and when I passed the donut vendor, she was taking pictures of her wares and I remarked, what a good idea, they're lovely and I took a picture too, and slavered over them a bit more, but thought about the calories and started to move on, and an old man called me out saying you shouldn't take a picture unless you're going to buy something. I wasn't sure how to respond, but the vendor was super nice and said no worries. So, the picture is attached here to make you salivate too! :-)

I was also very happy to see one of my favourite Auckland market stalls present - 'House of Harem', with Aeryn selling her famous harem pants, silk skirts, glittery bags and all the other usual gorgeous things.

But having said that- lots of colourful, pretty, interesting things to look at as you go around. Beautiful stalls in both the indoor hall and outside. Great friendly stallholders with their home-made talent whether in their able to grow fresh produces and plants, make arts and crafts, sew clothing, create jewellery, bake breads and cook food etc. Cool as dogs are allowed on the Village Green. Great folk music on the steps up to the Coatesville Settlers Hall and parking off the side streets and allocated park spaces further down the road. Definitely child friendly and a good family day out weekend activity. A gorgeous setting when the weather is good and the field is dry- must see.

The best value stuff is the fruit and veg and, to be honest, really the only thing worth going out of your way for. If you want cheap tools, cheap toys, cheap knock-off speakers, cheap shirts, etc this is where to come. In fact it's really a big grotty, crowded outdoor dollar store! There is a wide variety of ethnicities there and - to be blunt - if you are of the Caucasian persuasion you will feel like you are in Apia or Nuku'alofa. Only difference being that the people are not as friendly at the Manurewa market as they are in the islands, and you may not want to linger; if you get my drift. All that said... well that's about it really!

Very large, it comes out like a pizza, with 8 substantial size slices. Next we shared some fabulous calamari, cooked to perfection; and deep friend camembert, AMAZING! Our mains did not fail to live up to our starter and entrees. The mains were massive meals that all came with potatoes and veges. This restaurant has a wonderful feel about it. The staff are incredibly accommodating and really want to make sure you're getting the dining experience you deserve. I have to rate this place a solid 5 out of 5!
