We had porse snaps (berry flavored, good) and honey snaps (not good!). Then we tried various dishes! The Frederik VI herring was delicious with onion and capers. If you're not sure how to eat herring the traditional way, grab a slice of the tasty black bread, slather on the goose fat (or the butter if you don't want it super traditional), then add the herring and pile the toppings on top of that. Take a big bite to get it all in and enjoy! We also tried the curry herring which comes in a little dish with apples soaking in a curry sauce - yum! Port herring was very sweet, but still tasty. My friend also ordered the persian beef for himself which is like a cooked steak tartare with a raw egg yolk, beets, red onion, and capers. It makes for a super tasty bite all together, but it is a mouthful! The staff here was friendly, I loved getting to sit out on the sidewalk and enjoy the view of the street and watch all the bikes go by. The burgers are big and they're pretty different from other burgers, but they're also not as juicy as they could be. Or tasty for that matter. Despite all the exciting things inside the burger, they just don't hammer through the taste buds as I'd expect them to. The people working there, though, are super friendly and always has been, no matter which branch you walk into.

A refill was impossible because the wait staff never returned to the table after the food was delivered. They hung around the kitchen area and register at the entrance and NEVER came to where 100% of the customers were unless they were dropping off food. My glass and my partners coke glass was completely dry. Also, they do not have any complimentary ketchup or mayonnaise. They only offer the ones they make and charge for it. It's not very good ketchup! In fact, it does not taste like any ketchup I have had before, more like a pasta sauce. The burgers are OK but nothing special. Be warned that some are open faced meaning they do not have a top bun on them, only a bottom bun. The waitress was very friendly in her tone...but a friendly tone of voice does not make bad service better. I will not be returning to Halifax. The terrible service and the fact that they charge for water when a customer is paying 400kr makes me want to spend my money somewhere else.

But the amounts were tiny I couldn't really taste much more than the bread. When you cannot feel the taste of blue cheese... something has been definitely done wrong. And the extra BBQ sauce I asked for extra 10kr was only a barely visible film (not layer) on the patty. Overall, the place and the concept are great, but if I had to rate the food alone, 2 start whould be generous for this price.
