Then we were walked back to the far end of the restaurant to the section that the waitress was working. We walked past several empty tables to get there. Our table had been bussed but not cleaned. We waited for it to be wiped down. It was left real wet so we used our napkins to dry it. Then had to ask twice for extra napkins. I have had the turkey dinner multiple times at other Perkins. My meal was terrible. The dressing was very salty and yellow colored. The potatoes looked like they were squeezed out of a tube. Looked like 2 egg rolls. The turkey was very dry and salty. The broccoli was very good. Perkins has always had good broccoli. All of the food except the broccoli was room temperature. Wife had the salmon. She said it was pretty good. Wait staff was under-worked and not very competent. Good thing they were not busy. All of this was at 6 P.M. at night. They used to be packed at this time. Something needs to change.

West Concord is a very small farm community between Owatonna and Rochester. It's not the kind of place that you'd assume could support a brunch buffet like this. I was probably the only first timer there, but the place had a very comfy and friendly feel. The two ladies working the tables made me feel like I was a one of the regulars. From outside it looks like every little small town cafe. Once inside you see the framed prints covering the wall. Booths line the left and right walls. The interior is filled with tables to maximize seating in this small place. The L-shaped buffet appears small, but somehow they fit everything. This place is special. The most enjoyable dining experience I've had in a long time. No frills, just great food and outstanding service. They weren't being so friendly because it was their job. It was genuine.
