It is made with a buttery hazelnut crust and currants. Not raspberries like I have always seen on the knock-offs. (Although admittedly, those are pretty good too....no harm, no foul......they just aren't really what linzer tortes really are.) Anyhow, it's a busy little shop and we had a private section upstairs to enjoy our coffee. Our guide told us to put the little chocolate in the coffee too. Even though I usually like my coffee black, I obliged. When in Rome..... My only regret is not buying one to take home with me. I heard they travel and keep very well.

We took a cup to go (I know, very American of me). I ordered the Latte Macchiato with Oat Milk while my wife ordered a Moka (not realizing it is completely different than what she orders in America). I drank mine, and hers, and was very pleased with it. Jindrak has a large selection of baked goods. I was half heartedly checking things out when I saw a chocolate and strawberry pastry with a little vegan flag stuck in it. Excellent addition, from my perspective, so that I didn't have to inquire about the ingredients in everything. I took a pastry to go. Loved the texture and flavor of the dessert. Jindrak's service, vegan options and coffee all make it a worthwhile visit. The lack of vegan choices (only one during our visit) is the only thing holding it back from five stars.

Even the pre-made sandwiches at the little cafés looked as if they were made fresh daily. We only ordered a frankfurter plate and a couple of pizzas, but the food was good and came out very quickly. Here we are in one of the oldest shops in Linz with the original built in benches woodwork, pale blue paint and continuous decorations that represent over a 100 years of culture and life! I was met at the counter by a young woman who not only spoke English but took such care of me. Truly was concerned that I was going to receive the great coffees we ordered along with the Linz famous Tart they are known for! The coffee and pastries arrived quickly and with a biscotti alongside as well. If you are Linz do not miss out on this treasure of a location!

We needed a break on a cold cloudy Sunday in Linz. Most everything was closed and we wanted to to…read moremove away from the main tourist area. Luckily we found the Aquarium Cafe Bar. We enjoyed our drinks in a warm, cozy atmosphere. Nothing fancy but the cocktails were good and service friendly. Just a nice spot to relax and watch the world go by. Two drinks came to €12,90. I was about to give up on Linz until I found this street lined with cafes and little tables with…read moreoutdoor seating. The coffee shop was unexpectedly large. There's indoor seating at two big tables, chairs set around a table, and bar seating. They offer coffee and tea as well as some baked goods, none of which I really fancied. I ordered regular coffee and it was strong, as is all that is offered in Austria I've realized. The employee working there was very friendly. The patrons were mostly young 20-30 year olds. While it's a very modern space, it fits into this seemingly historic pedestrian street.
