I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich specifically with avocado and bacon add-ons( which I paid extra for ) via uber eats and what I received was a paper thin grilled chicken sandwich with cheese, lettuce and tomato ?? All things I specifically did NOT choose because I'm allergic to them. I will never order from this place again. I don't understand what the purpose is in allowing us to customize a sandwich if they're gonna send you whatever they want anyway. I went by the store and got a egg and cheese sandwich and a chicken Caesar salad. The sandwich was okay but the caesar salad was horrible. Had to throw the whole thing away. That's 10 USD down the drain people. The lettuce was wilted. The lettuce was shredded! I don't what they put in it but it was just inedible. I was at first glance impressed by the cleanliness of the place. There was a open air kitchen with a small mixture of tables and a counter to sit at. While I waited for my food the staff was enjoying a batch of fried plantains behind the counter, not only was this the first thing that turned me off but it did frustrate me to watch as they ate the food I was waiting for. Once I had gotten my order (that took 15 minutes longer than the time they had told me) I dug in. The fried plantains were not seasoned at all, the steak was dry and chewy and the limo lettuce underneath served as little more than a waste of space. My wife had chosen the mofongo which was also served basically dry. I had hoped for the quick pick up Spanish food I love but got little more than a flashy sign, not so good food and bad service. I've come here a couple of times. I've not yet seen another customer though. It's a small place with perhaps 5 small tables and 5 seats at a counter by the window. I've had the North 8th Steak Roll and I've had the Veggie Omelet and Berry Explosion smoothie. Everything was great. There is a television perched on top of a cold beverage refrigerator but I was entertained by residents across the street trying to control an out of control lawn umbrella on a windy day. read more

I went there for lunch and really liked the beautiful, colorful menu with all of the options. I had the Bomberito which was AMAZING. I've lived in the small town of Prospect Park my entire life and to be quite honest the best restaurant we've ever had is the rundown Chinese spot up the street from Cafecito. Cafecito serves to change that and to hopefully breathe new life into a town that has had fewer and fewer businesses every year. Cafecito is quaint and homey, but it gets the job done. Their sandwiches are to die for and the smoothies are delightful. Their coffee is both rich flavor and filled with a Spanish punch. I am giving it 4 stars and not 5 simply because I ordered "philly cheesesteak with fries" I didn't know it already came with fries. Therefore, I was charged for an extra order of fries. Great place. The person in charge is always upbeat and cheerful. The chimi lured me in, however I didn't set any high hopes or expectations. I knew this wasn't a 5 star restaurant and let the food speak for itself. It did just that. If you're looking for a good spot for lunch, great prices and a nice cup of coffee (or country club soda), this is the spot for you. My husband and I discovered this place on Grubhub and loved it the first time so we continued to order from here, well every single time after that there has been a mistake with the food, they usually take about an hour to arrive which is pretty normal with Grubhub but half the time we've ordered it has taken about 2 hours to arrive and then the food is cold because they insist on sending their only delivery guy out with 5-6 orders at a time (yeap the girl on the phone told me herself when I called questioning where my food was). Well today I've had it, my chicken avocado salad was missing the bacon, the eggs were overcooked, and the amount of chicken was just sad. I called Grubhub and they gave me a $5 credit themselves but the restaurant refuses to give me a refund for the mistake they made. Ridiculous! I literally never leave reviews but this made me so upset I just had to. The food itself is decent but it's freaking Russian roulette with these people, you never know if your meal will arrive cold, incomplete, overcooked, late, or if it'll arrive at all. It's just not worth the headaches, we've decided to never order from here again. read more
