    Chocolate (comes with Churros)

At 9:30pm on a Thursday night, we were craving some Spanish churros, as we had surprisingly not sampled any yet on our trip to Spain! This churrería lies in the middle of a charming city square reminiscent of Paris, lined with cute cafes with plenty of outdoor seating. You simply grab a table, and a server will shortly come out to take your order. When we had passed by this cafe earlier in the day, it was absolutely packed, both inside and outside, since it's very popular (right up there behind the famous Cafe Fútbol), but later at night, it cleared up, and we easily found a table. The interior of the cafe looks very charming and old-timey, with lacquered wood furniture and a counter reminiscent of a 1950s soda fountain. Service was friendly and efficient, and our server recommended getting Churros con Chocolate, which came with five churros and a cup of Spanish hot chocolate on the side. The churros came out warm within five minutes of ordering them! Don't think that these are your regular old churros that you would get as an accompaniment to a school lunch back in elementary school - instead of being greasy, ridged cake-donut-like sticks coated in cinnamon sugar, these are more like an unflavored cruller with just a tiny hint of sweetness. They're not overly greasy, with the perfect amount of crunch on the edges and a pillowy interior, and they're fried to a golden perfection! The hot chocolate is, well, "hot chocolate" in every sense of the term - if you're used to watery Swiss Miss packets, you'll be very surprised by this, as it's essentially rich, melted chocolate in a cup...but it's not overly sweet or cloying, and its thick texture is perfect to use as a dipping sauce for the churros. The price of five churros with chocolate came out to €5,50, which I think is completely reasonable for a plate of fairly large churros and a cup of hot chocolate (which looks small, but in reality, we couldn't finish it). This is such a cute cafe in a great location, with friendly service and great churros - I'd definitely come back to sample some of their other food options!

They are not CHURROS ! These are Porras and are larger than churros and have a lighter dough full of air pockets. Not as crispy as churros, they have a softer, lighter texture. So if you start of with that information in your head , you would not be as disappointed as I was when I had them. The coffee was good but I wasnt a fan of the Porras and ended up not eating 80% of them.

Just know if you're expecting the cinnamon sugar coated churros we have in the US, you won't find them in Granada. The churros here are very long and curved, served plain with a cup of chocolate sauce to dip in. I'm definitely no Spanish churro expert, this is just my opinion. The churros were crispy and relatively light but they're pretty bland. I like that they aren't overly sweet but they didn't offer much by way of flavor. The woman running the shop was very nice and friendly and made it easy for us to order, even though we don't speak much Spanish. Still a nice treat to share while strolling around the square.

QUICKIE REVIEW Different style of churros than what you get in America. FOOD This is what I tried: Churros w/ chocolate First introduction to churros like this. Have to say it was an interesting take having churros that was not sweet but instead a little bitter with the chocolate. The fresh fried churros do go well with the chocolate as it is light and crispy. I recommend people give it a shot, especially if you are used to having it in the US. It is something different and should NOT expect for it to take the same. PARKING No. SERVICE You're only coming here for one thing really and they know what it is. Service was quick and good. PRICE Less than $10 TIP/OTHER THOUGHTS This is a nice place to visit late night after dinner for dessert.

    Churros con chocolate and cappuccino

Churros with chocolate were great--not too sweet. It was quite busy but we got a table outdid quickly and the service was good and the waiters were nice. The ambiance outside wasn't anything special--but it is in a busy square so it's fun and lively

We came here for the churros but had 2 simple pasta dish since we didn't want anything fried , they were not bad, nothing special though and they were about 10-12 Euro, expensive. So our 4 star review is for the churros. Thick dark chocolate and light churros. The outdoor section is nice but we ate inside since we wanted to avoid smoking folks . Clean bathroom at the end of the bar area but a guy came out of the Women's Time was 2-3 pm .

The churros has a perfect crunch on the exterior and it's very soft and chewy inside. The chocolate sauce was perfect. It was creamy and thick and not too sweet! Very delicious overall.

Wow...the best churros I have had in a long time. This place is in the most touristy area but well worth the visit for the delicious churros and the hot chocolate to dip thin into. The hot chocolate was more like hot chocolate pudding...not the liquify stuff we Americans drink back home....this was thick and it stuck to the churros. My mouth is watering just thinking about this snack. The order was huge...three of us ordered two serving...that means 10 churos! Apparently you can order half portions but of course the server did not tell us that. Regardless.....just go there to eat those churros! You won't regret it.
