What a genius idea it was to name this flower shop after the classic 70s broken-hearted ballad! I doubt there is any better way to guilt people in to a shop than letting the words of Neil Diamond float around their heads for a while. If you don't bring your loved one flowers then 1) shame on you and 2) maybe you should visit this shop. It's not just flowers in here but a whole range of gifts and cakes. There is a small cafe at the back of the shop too where you can reward yourself after buying your loved one a nice present. Tea is served in beautiful china pots and their cakes are delicious. The flowers themselves are range from the very exotic to the more well known varieties and are all wrapped beautifully. Maybe it would be worth suggesting to my boyfriend that we move to Lewisham for him to get the hint and buy me something from here!

Prettily miniature in size, 'Flowers consists of a little window for sitting and gossiping, a marvellous display of beautiful blooms, a counter laden with cakey goodness, some divine little tables towards the back and an upstairs room, complete with tiny terrace. Every single little corner is a dream and a masterpiece no more can be described, a visit is due. Sample the best-in-a-very-very-large-radius coffee, nibble the cakes, grab a croissant if you're an early bird, have a sandwich, sip some soup heck stay there all day if you have to, I am yet to find something I don't like about this place. It was quiet, there were plenty of seats (including some comfy sofas) and provided an escape from the busy street outside. I was a little sceptical about how nice a coffee bar would do in Welling as Starbucks and the other usual suspects have seen fit not to open branches there. But this one worked. It was calm and relaxing with some local radio providing the soundtrack and was also very welled priced. My tea was only £1 which is much cheaper than its High Street rivals. I wasn't hungry but fresh sandwiches and baps were on offer which looked quite appetising. The staff were really pleasant, smiling and made sure I was comfortable. The toilets were also impressively clean. It's not far from Welling station and if you are on your way to or from work, it is worth popping into to unwind.

I would go to the Bakery any day of the week over all the high street chain "fake" bakeries that lay around town. Their bread is so fresh and tasty, and i am a sucker for their farmhouse loaf. Their fresh cream cakes are to die for, as well as the remaining of the cakes they have to offer. Also, warm cups of tea and coffee can be found here. The Bakery is a prime example of why traditional family bakeries are better than chain bakeries and a reason you should continue getting your fresh bread from here.
