Had a meeting with my manager and we came here for coffee. Just nice. They have great Italian coffee and yes Spanish Latte is the signature coffee here. This location is located in the Shell building. Lots of seating. I have tried the Caffe Artigiano in Vancouver. Very consistent. I personally like Caffe Artigiano either in Calgary or Vancouver. Great for meeting here. Its not too noisy and not too busy. They do pretty good coffee / latte artwork here. read more

This cafe is BUSTLING with people. Seriously, it's a full house during lunch time on a weekday afternoon. I usually get the latte but they had something called the Spanish latte so I decided to give it a try. The Barista told me it is a sweeter, creamier latte. I'm Sold. it was good. not sugary sweet but mild like melted sweet cream in your latte. The beans were fairly strong so that's a plus. I would need to go back and sample my usual drink to see if I love this place or not. And I'll probably go at a quieter time next time so I can get a seat . Also note, it's rather dark here and overflowing with conversations so not good for studying. There's also no wifi so not good for surfing the web. read more

Artigiano is doing a lot of things right. Great drinks, good hours, and excellent beans. I bought a pound of their espresso blend (which come out fresh every Thursday, so go late in the week if you're buying beans), and theirs are one of my favourites (along with Black Cat and 49th Parallel). Oh, what a tasty, tasty coffee shop this is. It's a loud yet comfortable and energetic atmosphere with the hustle and bustle of Calgary's downtown corporate crew. You can still hear the conversations with the people you came with, but it would definitely not be my first pick for a place to choose for an important meeting or to get some work done. During the week it seems like a friendly gathering of coworkers, talking water cooler gossip around Artigiano's superb espresso By typical standards it was still breakfast, but I went with the lamb sandwich (panino) and it hit the spot. Lots of tasty fresh tasting thin cut lamb and a total abundance of fresh basil. So much basil! There's no wifi in Artigiano, but you can grab a delicious Spanish latte to go and take it upstairs if you need internet and a quieter place to work. That said, the University guest wifi can be a little slow. read more

Try going for coffee downtown early on a Sunday morning. Place after place is closed because downtown isn't actually the place to be in Calgary on a Sunday morning. Except Caffe Artigiano. Not only is it one of a few places to go, but it's also a good place to go. Plenty of seating, friendly staff, yummy lattes and tasty treats, Caffe Artigiano offered an excellent place to sit down and catch up with friends. Finally a coffee house that hits the balance between cozy and elegant. Located in the downtown core, it's a great place to go on weekends because it's so slow in that area. The decor is nice and welcoming with a deep, warm atmosphere. tables of varying sizes are scattered throughout, including one big family style table right when you walk in. Despite there being a good amount of seating, it isn't a huge place and that helps with the atmosphere. The staff are qualified and know their coffee. I just wanted a decent medium roast, and without knowing the blends they had I put my faith in one of the staff members. They done good. This is a nice place that delivers quality coffee in a nice environment without being pretentious. What more can you ask for? read more

Woohoo! Finally found the time to stop here after hearing about how great it is too many times from those who work downtown and have easy access. Imagine my joy when I checked their website and saw that they are open on weekends - so I definitely had to stop by when I was making a trek from the south to the north by transit. This cafe is a place that I would love to spend time in, the atmosphere on the weekend was inviting and relaxing. When I approached the counter I informed the young man that it was my first time there and that I was excited and he was quite pleased. He asked what brought me there and even suggested the best drink for my first time (spanish latte), but unfortunately I could not have it due to being lactose intolerant. So, he told me the next best thing would be the almond milk vanilla latte - sold! The latte was very delicious and the service was super friendly, can't beat that.. I even made it back again 2 days later... uhoh, I'm hooked! read more

It's been years since I've been to a cafe artigiano. On a lazy Friday at work a few of us decided to make the trek to this location. I remember it being really good. And a nice change from Starbucks. And it was! I didn't go my usual chai tea latte, I went for a hot chocolate with almond milk. It was delish! So nice to have a real cocoa not fake crap. And with the almond milk was perfect. Nice and light, not to heavy or gross stuff in the bottom. They are a little pricey, even more so than Starbucks, but it's good java. I wish there was one closer to my office. read more

If it was legal and/or appropriate to be in a relationship with a coffee, I'd be setting my Facebook status to "In a Relationship with Spanish Latte" in a heartbeat. In case that wasn't a clear hint, their Spanish lattes are really, really, REALLY good. As is pretty much everything else they make, particularly the almond croissants. I love how big the space is. Very rarely can you ever find a place to sit in a coffee shop during the busy times, but here doesn't run much risk since there seems to be space for everyone. It's not cramped or choked with Metro papers and ACAD brochures all over the place; just chill, high class and enjoyable. read more

I'm typically not a coffee drinker, however whenever I meet up with friends and they suggest Caffe, I never hesitate to order a latte. It's made perfectly so it's not bitter and crafty coffee art always makes me smile. Seating can be limited depending on what time you go, but you're never a stone's throw away from a food court or seating area within walking distance. read more

I love what CA is bringing to Calgary and love their sandwiches, but the last three visits have been disappointing and all for the same reason: Too-long, too-hot espressos. Cup full to TWICE the "duo" line on the porcelain and it felt too busy to complain so I choked down the burning hot concoction. With Kawa and DeVille outperforming CA on the espresso front, they'd better redouble their efforts. I wish them success, I do, but this less than competent espresso is getting annoying. read more

Who doesn't love a pretty latte with a design on top? Artigiano might make one of the better cups of coffee in town. And I'm talking about REAL Italian coffee. It is pretty strong, so limit yourself to one cup a day. I once made the mistake of having one after 2 shots of espresso in the morning - I spent the entire day with the shakes and heart palpitations. So if you need an extra pick-me-up and Starbucks won't cut it, make the trip to Artigiano! read more

I like Caffe Artigiano a lot - it's one of my favourite places to grab a latte or machiato. I used to work a little too far to visit often but now that it's closer to my new workplace I visit once a week or so. The pastries are a little 'meh' however, which is why I can't give it more stars. But I do appreciate that when I was sick, I had a coughing fit, and when I asked for a glass of water, instead of pointing to the counter next to me and saying "You can get it there, duh!" the guy behind the counter took a minute of his day to pour me the glass of water. So I consider myself a coffee lover in fact I would have a very hard time living without it, I am not to picky and can even enjoy some brew from the neighborhood 7/11 from time to time, but if you want a latte or cappuccino or just an espresso shot made exactly the right way with extremely high quality beans that are roasted just right, I highly recommend you try this place. I have travelled all over Europe and yes, overall they really do make better coffee (especially in Italy) . Heck, even their coin slot automatic coffee machines make better coffee than any second cup I have ever been to, and thats no joke! In short Caffe Artigiano has the same illusive high quality coffee taste! It really comes down to one thing, their magical coffee beans( I dont know where they source them from but those beans got the jelly!). It's really that last 10% of coffee detail that most common places don't deliver. That smooth caramel flavor with a very subtle thickness to it. Not to bitter or acidic well balanced but with some mojo and complexity. I cant explain it fully, but lets just call it bean magic. This place has that magic in spades! and I have been to pretty well all the other "hot coffee" joints in calgary and while many of them come close this place still has the sharpest edge, at least thats what my taste buds tell me. I like coffee, but I don't think my coffee palate has reached the stage of a Kenny or a Wendy or one of them other fancy coffee drinkers. I just know what I like, and I don't like. Calgary has a lot of great cafes, and I like coffee at the good ones. Artigiano is one of the good ones. Location is awful. Gosh, I hate the Core, and it somehow seems more expensive than other places, but it is probably the only decent coffee shop in the TD area, so worth a visit. read more

This little cafe has won me over and I will never consider meeting anyone for coffee downtown at a Starbucks (and I like Starbucks). I am a huge fan of the nicely decorated interior and the polite and friendly staff. They also have some food available but I did not try any of it. Cute little coffee shop in Calgary my friend Sarah took me to when I was visiting a couple of weekends ago. It's got a great interior, a bit classier than some places, the staff were insanely friendly, and best of all, they're experts in coffee art! Who doesn't like coffee art? I was first introduced to Artigiano in Vancouver, I believe I reviewed the place already but because their coffee is so good, I'll review it for Calgary too! The perfect golden crown on their espresso and the silky heavenly foam in their latte is delightful! I love to stroll down - or drive during winter- on a late sunday morning and sip a cup to enjoy my free day before the start of a busy week. It is such an 'Ahhhh' moment. read more

Today I got my usual drink as I always do here at this location as it is close to my work. Every time I get it, it tastes great! Until today. I got the same as usual but the drink was heavily watered down with no taste to it. I took the drink back with my coworker (I bought 3 of them for my coworkers) and informed the barista that it was watered down and doesn't taste the same. The barista challenged my opinion on this and ultimately decided to add sweetener to adjust the taste level. This created a very sweet/overwhelming drink. My coworker had to take the drinks back a second time and had to ask for them to remake the drink which they were hesitating to do. I've never had this issue with other cafes where they've gladly offered to remake drinks that aren't up to par. Won't be coming back to this location again. read more

The only thing this Caffe Artigiano has in common with the ones in Vancouver is the spelling of the name. What horrible coffee! I love and adore Caffe Artigiano in Vancouver, but when I ordered my regular Misto, I had to add cream because it tasted like they hadn't cleaned out the machine in the last year. And where I typically have a leaf, heart, and the occassional bunny rabbit decorating the foam on my coffee, I had a coffee speckled blob as my treat today. Yay. I would not go back and I certainly hope Calgarians don't hold this location against the rest of the chain. read more

My low rating is for indifference and a general do not care attitude towards customers, and dismal communications, not their coffee. They change managers like I change socks. Griping aside, they sell fabulous coffee, among the finest anywhere. Update - The COE coffee program is taking on the appearance of becoming a cash grab rather than promotion for the best in coffee. All coffee sold under the COE banner can be found, with judges notes, on the COE website. Now the COE want you to pay to get the information on the products you wish to buy. Varietals, tasting notes, production information is now only available to members at a cost of $250 a year. COE coffee should be boycotted until the program makes the information that every consumer should no public. CAFFE ARTIGIANO HAS NOT UPDATED THEIR WEBSITE FOR PRODUCT OFFERINGS IN OVER EIGHT MONTHS. WHAT IS ON LINE IS MOSTLY INACCURATE. I have to downgrade my rating, but not for the coffee quality that remains stellar and you will not be disappointed there. If they corrected their abysmal communications practices I would give them a five hands down. If their coffee wasn't so good I would give them a zero. My problem is communications are not important to the owner and district manager. The owner and district manager never return phone calls when advised that their product listings on their website are over five months out of date, the last time I made an attempt. What you buy in their stores is not what they advertise. When asked Todd Pollack, district manager, what coffees are available said the information is on our website, a grossly inaccurate website. Owner, Willie Mounzer, is not of any help either as he choses to ignore the issue entirely. I want to know what is available not what used to be available. Two months ago they changed their hours without updating their website, they have now, but I had to fight to be served when I went to store during their advertised hours of opening. Their Brazil Chapadao de Ferre, Sidamo Ksara, and Guatemala Pacamara are all 90 pointer coffees and the Brazilian has wonderful body laden with chocolate overtones. They charge too much for COE coffee and even the above coffees are a bit overpriced but still worth spending your money on. You will get incredible coffee regardless. read more

It's no secret I go out of my way for Artigiano. Love the coffee! Hard to find a table at peak hours and gets very noisy, but you'll know why if you are a coffee lover. I was so happy to find this coffee place open on a holiday. Their Spanish latte is the signature coffee and they can make it half-sweet for you if you don't like your coffee too sweet. The ambiance is somewhere in-between modern and European. They have decorations here and there, making the store pretty. Very nice place to come in for a coffee for a break and enjoy some time in downtown Calgary! read more

Lovely little downtown coffee cafe! Came here for a business meeting and thought the staff were lovely and the coffee was great! The cafe seems a little dark, so next time I might opt to sit outside. If you are coming for the lunch hour I recommend getting here even 15 minutes before noon because there sure is a line once it hits 12 o'clock! Although I didn't have any the food looked really good and I definitely can't wait to come back and try some! read more
