While this behavior wasn't the restaurant's fault, the seating arrangement certainly was. We were given chips and salsa. The chips started stale but the salsa was great. The food was underwhelming: the rice was hard, the mole was mediocre, and the sopa azteca was unimpressive. The sopa de tortilla, however, was excellent. Felt there were some discrepancies because some people who barely arrived and asked about the wait times somehow got sat immediately. How are you sure the people you call are the actual people? There were numerous times when someone's name gets called and no one responds, but the people who suddenly arrive say that they are them. Getting sat down once you are called and ordering was quick, but getting the check took a while. TIP: Make sure to look at the digital menu while waiting to get seated. I was disappointed with the Birria Chilaquiles. Felt like it was missing something I just can't pinpoint it. Mango soda was pretty good just make sure to give it a good swirl. Made a pit stop to this place while in Tijuana and it did not disappoint. It's a popular place so we had to wait about 40 minutes for a table. Staff is very attentive and friendly. I had their Cafe De La Flor which had too much milk for my taste. They have other coffees too so I'll likely give a different one a try next time. Their chilaquiles verdes are the reason we came. They came with a side of house potatoes and frijoles topped with queso fresco. This alone was very filling, especially if you top with egg or get the chilaquiles especiales that come with chorizo. Their Nutella pancakes were delicious. We asked for a small side of syrup and it was the perfect sweet after having chilaquiles. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. read more

They managed to mess up both my order and my friend's. My pasta was missing the chicken, so I had to send it back for them to add the chicken. Instead of a crêpe, my friend was delivered a torta which also had to be sent back. We were short on time, and their lack of efficiency cost us another half an hour. I am hoping that was an anomaly and not the norm. It was very hard to get the attention of our server when we needed him. I did enjoy the food once I got it. But I was so hungry by then I probably would've been happy with just about anything. The prices are fair for the kind of restaurant it is. We came here to have lunch one weekend. The drive was not far from our hotel, and we found parking along the street. This cafe is clean, nicely decorated, and quite charming. The other patrons were well dressed and nice folks. The host and the waiters were friendly and very attentive. We were shown to our table almost immediately. Our waiter wasted no time in getting out drinks while we perused the menu. To start off, I went with a tortilla soup. The soup was delicious, and amazingly well made. This was a good intro to what was to come: my enchilada dish. The food was a firestorm of flavor, and left me very satisfied but not comatose. The agua fresca that I ordered was flavorful, and not something that would give me a sugar crash afterward. I was very impressed by this cafe. It is now in my radar for my next trip to baja. There is street parking or valet parking. We ordered two La Flor Slam that came with potatoes and onions; beans with queso fresco and chilaquiles. We had the chilaquiles in red salsa and in green salsa. We also ordered Chilaquiles de Birria that also came with beans and queso fresco; and potatoes with onions. Overall the food was great. The potatoes were a little bland. The beans were average in flavor. They tasted like they were out of a can versus homemade. We noticed several tables around us had a plate of pan dulce (conchas); however, we did not nor am I sure if it was an added cost. We were not offered a plate of pan dulce. Since we had ordered La Flor Slam it also came with dessert. We chose strawberry cheesecake and Vanilla cake. It was good. not pictured. After years of procrastinating, I've finally tried them for the very first time. I did buy a cake to go at one point but that's it and it was quite delicious. My visit on the other hand is way far from just a delicious feedback. I came in with wife and grand parents, we noticed there was a wait line but indeed accepted the wait. Fifteen to twenty minutes pass and my name was called. After being seated, my wife ordered a peach tea and was told "they were out of purified water" she was offered sparking water for the tea instead and she agreed. Wife again orders a cream of corn and again "out of stock" Long story short, 4 items were out of stock. I ask from the appetizer menu the "champiñones al ajillo" (garlic mushrooms) I specifically said it was for the center. While the kitchen is prepping our food the server brings small plates for us to share the mushrooms. However our main dishes start arriving and soon everyone has their plate. Server acknowledges we are missing the appetizer and runs back to grab it, returns to the table, realizing there is no open spot on our table, tryies to directly hand me the appetizer instead clearing the table to place the appetizer in the center as I requested but I assume he forgot and since I was the one placing the order, he assumed they were for myself. I had ordered a cola drink and later asked for another cola but after a while he returned, apologizing as they ran out of coke. He assured they were going to remedy the Coke inventory in a matter of seconds to minutes. Chips and salsa were actually good and the Italian panini I had was ok. The minestrone soup was not bad and as for the mushrooms, honestly I didn't even want try them any more, I lost my interest but grandma sure did ask for a box to go. I think she liked them because I did se her give them a try. Grandma had an American coffee which she said she liked and asked for more. This place is in a convenient location just a few miles away from the border. There is street parking. I came for breakfast on a Monday. It was not too crowded. The space itself is nice and clean. It has a great ambiance. I got a cappuccino with the plate of fruit. They were both so good!!! I highly recommend the coffee. The staff were also very nice and attentive. Café de la Flor is located in Plaza Rio mall and if you are coming from the US is about a fifteen minute walk or you can take an Uber. When you first enter you should type in your name and phone number into the tablet as opposed to talking to a host or hostess. Once your table is ready a text will be sent to you. Also be prepared for a text a few hours after your visit to review your dining experience. We first entered at around eight o'clock on a Saturday night and it took around ten minutes to get our table. The menu features enough entrees to please even picky eaters. There were probably close to around a dozen different pasta options. I had the fettucine alfredo and it was delicious. Just to give you an idea of the portion you will receive, we came here because I was hungry and I had to take a to-go box. The fettucine alfredo, and possibly other pasta dishes, come with a two slices of bread. There are quite a few different beverage options such as wines and espresso drinks.
