    Hot chocolate and cream

Small cafe. Good hot chocolate that is on the thick side. They give you warm bread on the side to dip it in

Cute cafe right next to Casa Batllo. Apparently it is a chain in Spain - I tried this in Madrid as well but this location had better food quality. We got a panini, a salad bowl, two freshly squeezed fruit juices, and a red velvete cake. Everything tasted so fresh and healthy!

Easiest morning meal in Spain. Easy, delicious, fresh and inexpensive. Coffee and toast w/ tomato is perfect.

Perfectly located next to Casa Batlo allowed us to swing in and have a quick bite, without long detours and lengthy waits. The food was ok, nothing to write home about, but the hot chocolate was amazing, and just watching it melt and churn was a delight. Freshly squeezed juices were good. Try to sit outdoors, there is a table with a swing for a seat - very cute. Bathroom access code is printed on the receipt, so make sure to keep it.

Chocolate made from the original conquistador recipe

This was the first stop on our historical chocolate tour of Barcelona since this is also the first chocolate house in the region all the way back in the Middle Ages. They boast the original recipe that the conquistadors brought back from the Americas! Turns out, it was delicious then and delicious now! Well worth the visit, not just to check a historical box, but to enjoy a scrumptious bread and chocolate treat!

We stumbled upon this cafe after consuming some free chocolate nearby. My travel bud ordered the vita matcha that had fresh oj as the base and I ordered the matcha latte. Both lacked the matcha taste and we weren't happy campers paying for a glass of oj and milk.

Tassa de Xocolata aka Gods gift to the world

It's all about the CHOCOLATE here. Try the Tassa de Xocolata. It's this amazing, thick, rich hot chocolate that is basically melted chocolate. Kinda like when you are baking and melt chocolate and you eat it. But better. They serve it with a bread for dipping and a spoon. Cause you will want to eat the rest. If you loved it as much as we do, their chocolate shop sells it and it's pretty cheap. We bought a few for us and the rest make great gifts. Also got some other chocolates that make great gifts (to myself and others). Their packaging is beautiful, with many saying "Barcelona." Definitely beats any generic Barcelona gift. I was able to try the Cava chocolate and the Orange one. They were both amazing. With Cava, you could taste liqour but I was pretty surprise how good the orange one was. This place was so good, we came a few times. On one of our trips, we also had a chocolate cake (obviously). The portion was huge and it was delicious. Airy, light, but rich chocolate flavor. They said it was homemade. The shop/store itself it's a great place to come relax after a day of walking and sight seeing. It's located next to Casa Batllo and the building it is housed in (Casa Amatller) is beautiful in its own. It has this really cool flat facade with qaint windows and geometric designs. Or something like that. I am not an architect. But it is beautiful. It looks like they also have tours, though we always came in a bit late. The inside of the shop is comfortable, had ample sitting, and many outlets to recharge or work.

Excellent hot chocolate. Well worth a taste. We also tried their salad lunch meal with a shake which was also decent. Worth a visit.

One of the bests hot chocolates in Barcelona

4 stars just for one of the best chocolates in Barcelona. It's a touristy place, but the setting is cool and the hot chocolate is well worth a stop.

Yummy sandwiches and salads with outdoor seating. Appreciated the gluten free options. The fresh juices we got were yummy as well.

The hot chocolate heavily beat my expectations. I had the salmon wrap which was decent. Wished it had more salmon.

Well all the "gushing" and praising is highly deserved! My husband and I were in Barcelona for a short 33 hours to attend an FC Barcelona match at Camp Nou, and thanks to Yelp, discovered Flax & Kale. After the Sunday night match, we dined at the Tallers location, and the next day we found our way here! It was a perfect stop on our walk from La Sagrada Familia to El Born! The feel-good vibes and delicious, healthy eats continued to flow into day 2 of our short visit, and at this F&K, they have their very own Kombucha Bar in the back that looks like a very interesting chemistry lab with neon lights. Overall such a beautiful, artsy space from the white pillars to the exposed brick walls, metal vents, and sleek wooden tables and accents! We tried a few menu items that were completely different than what we ordered the day before. Every single thing was tasty, fresh & had us questioning, "Is there any room in my belly to try something else on the menu?!" Oh yes, it's that good! Highlights of the day were: * Matcha Latte with their fresh Almond Cashew Milk * Green Love cold-pressed juice * Plant-based "cheddar" Kale Chips * Paleo Bread with their Marcona Almond & Coconut Butter * Gluten-free Focaccia Bread Gorgeous food (that's good for your body, soul & tastebuds), friendly service, great music, and well...we just can't wait to come back!

This is my second Flax & Kale experience, and I must say it was better than the Tallers location. I…read morethink it comes down to personal preference - the Passage shop is much cozier, with a smaller space and warmer tones. As a party of four, we were seated in one of their booths, which can be completely private as they have sliding doors. I had a lovely view of fresh pizza being made, with the chefs assembling each pizza by hand (with love). For a Sunday afternoon, it was surprisingly not too busy. For the main, I ordered the salmon sushi sandwich. I loved the classic Japanese flavours presented in a non-traditional format. It wasn't super filling, so I opted for their toasted hazelnut ice cream, which came with a delicious combination of mangoes, grapes, and a cocoa cookie. Note that it was a grainier than ordinary ice cream, and the flavour was quite potent. Overall, we were very satisfied with our meals. Also super impressed that EVERYTHING is gluten-free. I highly recommend a visit even if you do not have dietary restrictions!
