For mains the lobster pasta was one of the best I have ever had. They do a full lobster with the best linguine. The sauce on the pasta is so good I wish I could jar it and bring it home. La Palme d'Or is named after the most famous award for the Cannes Film Festival and is inside the Hotel Martinez. It's honestly a beautiful spot and a tribute to the festival as a whole. I think in 2024 they lost their two michelin stars (couldn't find it on the guide), but in previous years, it was two michelin star place and the way they treat their food is uppercase F fancy. We got the 3 course tasting menu (~$120 euros) which was definitely enough food. I will say, once again also not super wowed which is hilarious that someone else wrote this, especially compared to some other places that I've eaten that are also Michelin quality. The staff is REALLY kind and I will say the dining experience is definitely one of a kind (really fancy, the menus are typeset like scripts, it's just really beautiful). If you're in Cannes and want an uppercase E experience, I definitely recommend (and also booking a reservation in advance) but other than that, if you're someone who loves traveling and good food you can miss it. We started with the Burrata and truffle salad and the homemade foie gras. Both had wonderful flavours and and textures. As our mains we had the grilled Veal with potatoes and gravy and the Le Tigre qui Pleure: recette Thai. The latter dish apparently translates to "Weeping Tiger" and it was so tasty, we could have cried. The steak was perfectly cooked with delicious sauce and spices and a came with a hearty side of sautéed vegetables. My veal was the best I've ever had. The meat was so tender and paired well with the mashed potatoes and jus. Delicious. To finish the evening we decided to split the Speculoos Tiramisu. It was light and creamy and disappeared way too easily. Only thing I wouldn't recommend was the La Poussie Sancerre, which is the strangest red wine I have ever had. We ordered shaved truffle fries, chicken breast roasted with thyme and home made mashed potatoes and fresh spaghetti with tomatoes and burratina. Everything we ordered tasted was solid so no complaints there. I especially loved the shaved truffle fries, they were perfectly cooked and so indulgent with the shaved truffle. With chillout electronic music, white leather chairs, cooling water mist above us and cool photographic artwork it was nice to relax and soak up the scene. I like how in Europe you're allowed to bring your dog everywhere and I ended up sitting next to an adorable puppy who was cooling off from the heat on the marble floor.
