A great location which is worth checking out simply for the hidden gem aspect. Further, the food is quite good and you can sit up front in the "loungy" bar area or in the fancier restaurant section left of the entrance. The service is very nice and was quick to respond. Yet, this is probably because not much was going on. We were practically alone when we came and it wasn't much fuller when we left. The night may have been off but I can't imagine that this place has been "found" by many people yet. This may be a benefit or a curse. It remains to be seen what the case is. Finally, parking in the area is on the street and if you come at a bad time, you may have to look around if arriving by car. Definately a place to check out if just for drinks and to see it or to have dinner. Price-wise a bit higher up the ladder but definately also up there in regards to ambiance when it comes to Mannheim.

They serve freshly made rice, curry and lentil dishes, wraps and a delicious Mango Lassi. If you're a vegetarian Mondo Deli can make a nice change from salad. But, I'm always a bit disappointed in the pudding menu. You can sit out in the summer, but it can get very busy at lunch time, you can always order a take out to eat at your desk though.

The restaurant is rather quaint when considering the seating, it has a rustic feel and added closeness with your neighboring tables. We went for dinner, so we missed the view of the city, but other photos look fantastic. Of note, winter months and dinner mean darkness and no views. The food was interesting and was plated in a quite appealing manner. It was hot upon arrival and looked delicious. It was a bit of a letdown as the flavors just weren't there. The chicken was good; moist and had some smokey flavor, the veggies lacked flavor. The pasta was a miss. Surf and turf lacked finesse and pizazz that I'd expect from an over €20 meal. I had a great view of the pass where food was final prepped for delivery. There was a man working there that I watched lick his thumb twice. There was no hand washing afterwards and he continued to plate food and add to plates with his hands. Quite a turn off, especially for what I considered to be an upscale restaurant.
