Visiting friends in High Point, we went to Cagney's Kitchen for Saturday mornings breakfast. We had no trouble getting in at 9 am but I will say business picked up quite a bit soon after we were seated to the point that there was a wait. The inside is pretty big though, with a lot of seating. Our waitress was excellent!! High five to Lilliana!! Food came out as ordered and as far as regular breakfast food goes it was good. Straight forward. Nothing fancy. Definitely recommend you giving them a try.

Came here for dinner. Ordered chicken souvlaki platter w/greek salad and house-made chips (forgot to take pictures), husband wanted pork tenderloin & eggs, but opted for 3 meat platter, children ordered bananas foster and a kids (1/2) Belgian waffle. While the server was friendly & attentive, the food was okay. The chicken souvlaki was tender and tasty, however, the house-made greek dressing was good, but very salty (advised waitress & was told a similar complaint by another customers--why isn't anyone tasting the dressing after it's made?!?!?!). The breaded tenderloin portion was disappointing and the ham was tough (not sure if overcooked or just a bad slice--he switched ham out for more sausage). Children didn't have any complaints with their meals. While we have visited for breakfast, we found our dinner selections somewhat disappointing. Not sure if it was an off-night or whether we'd try dinner service again.

I've never visited Cagney's in any of their other triad locations. I wanted to try breakfast before another meals. Azita was assigned to our table and is absolutely wonderful. She's very personable and makes sure you have everything you need. The food did not take long to be prepared. My husband ordered an iced latte and it was almost gone before his food came. He enjoyed it so much! His meal was the meat & 2 egg breakfast with sausage links. The links are good! Son had Farmer's omelette and said it was very good (full of veggies). I had the fried pork tenderloin breakfast. I won't get it again. The tenderloin was just meh. No flavor or seasoning. It's also pre -formed & possibly comes frozen like that. Eggs/buttered toast/hashbrowns were good. Their lunch/dinner menu is pretty extensive. I'm wondering if the sides are fresh veggies or frozen/canned. Way too many options for a place like that. I'd return for breakfast if I sat in Azita's section and ordered the meat & 2 egg breakfast.

Staff is friendly and very attentive to the needs of the customers. This was my second time eating here since Texas and Shirley's closed. Our dine in experience was nice. Today I ordered take out breakfast. I ordered a corned beef hash omelet. When I opened the box. My omelet was sitting in a pool of oil. I am a cook and I understand the grease in corned beef hash. But this was excessive so I drained some of the oil. I still wasn't ok eating from the container so I transferred onto several paper plates. It was way too greasy. Felt nauseated. My wife's order also came with very greasy hash browns. I will hope the kitchen doesn't do this again to us. This used to be our weekend d breakfast spot. We will give it one more try. I hope we don't get disappointed again. If we do, it will be our last visit.

First time trying Cagney's and I decided to try the meatloaf. They have quite an extensive menu with lots of options for sides as well. The meatloaf was pretty good and went well with the mashed potatoes and green beans. The inside of the restaurant has been updated really nicely as it used to be the old Tex and Shirley's. We will definitely be back to try other things!

My whole table ordered salads. Look how delicious they look. Greek salad with chx and beef strip salad with huge chunks of flavorful steak

I got the sliced beef sandwich combo with slaw, okra, and sweet tea. My mom just wanted peach cobbler and okra, and we added potato salad and banana pudding for ourselves. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. The pulled pork was tender and not dry. My sliced beef was juicy and seasoned well. The hushpuppies were good, crispy outside, soft inside. The fried okra was cooked right and not greasy. The potato salad surprised me in a good way, it had slices of bacon in it, which was different but actually really good. The banana pudding was good and creamy, and the peach cobbler was good too. Portions are generous. It's a lot of food for the price and definitely worth it. Service was good,we were in and out. I remember trying - and liking - BBQ Joe's not long after moving to High Point, which makes it…read morepuzzling that I haven't been a more frequent visitor. Like most self-respecting barbecue joints, BBQ Joe's lets the food do the talking: the dining area is strictly utilitarian. They keep busy here, but the staff are very efficient, and you won't be waiting long for anything. While BBQ Joe's serves up the chopped or pulled pork that is synonymous with the Tarheel State, don't go looking for the classic Lexington-style experience. They have a variety of sauces as well as ribs, chicken, smoked turkey, and brisket. Stop in before 11, and you can feast on a variety of biscuits. For my most recent visit, I picked up a chopped brisket sandwich with white slaw, a side of hushpuppies, and a banana pudding. The food was prepped quickly and brought out with a smile. The brisket couldn't touch what I had in Texas, but for High Point, it was definitely respectable. Though not as smokey as I would have hoped for, the meat was tender, and the sandwich held plenty of it. That said, the house Joe's sauce runs a bit sweet, and you might want to add a dash of something spicier. While the ring-shaped hushpuppies were addictively crispy and delicious, the banana pudding rated as tasty but unremarkable. BBQ Joe's is a reliable option for good food and fast service. You can find better barbecue if you're inclined to travel, but for High Point proper, this is it.

There's a nice selection of a variety of food vendors, nothing is duplicated and it's all super unique to the others. We sampled four of the vendors and all of the food was amazing! There was nothing going on at the park so it was relatively slow for business which we thought would make our visit easy without a lot of waiting in line (which there were none) or waiting for our food. The reason for the 4 stars is the wait time and friendliness of the vendors. They all looked very tired and dare I say grumpy?! No greetings, no smiles, no interaction other than taking the order and pointing to the pay scan. The orders took absolutely forever! One sushi roll took about 15 minutes and the birria bites took about 25 minutes! Crazy wait times for such a small crowd. We will definitely return for B3 Smokehouse and probably some sushi, they were both phenomenal, just wish the vibe was a little more friendly and fun.

It closed in early February for what were supposed to be renovations, only to reopen months later with a new name and a new concept, trading slightly upscale Southern for more upscale Italian. In some regards, this makes sense - it fills a void created by the closure of Lulu and Blu - but in other ways, it's a massive gamble. My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner, and while it was an overall pleasant experience, it also made us miss Magnolia. The higher price point is the chief culprit. Otto and Blue offers pastas in the $20s and entrees starting in the $30s, bread and olive oil not included. While we were celebrating an occasion that merited such a splurge, it's hard to imagine the restaurant remaining competitive at those prices once the sheen of newness wears off. Look past that, however, and Otto and Blue shines in both ambiance and service. It's classy without being stuffy, and the dark turquoise tones suit it well. Allison, a Magnolia Blue mainstay, was personable and attentive and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Otto and Blue's menu offers apps, salads, pastas, and entrees. It's predominantly Italian albeit with a few options for the steak-and-potatoes crowd. The dishes range from recognizably classic (rigatoni Bolognese) to conspicuously elevated (halibut piccatta). After mulling over several offerings, we went with the bread service, tagliatelle, and duck cacciatore. The food ranged from fairly good to outstanding. While $9 for bread is a tough pill to swallow, they executed it as well as they possibly could have: a hot, fresh ciabatta with tasty herb butter, olive relish, and a quality olive oil-balsamic combo as accompaniments. The cacciatore boasted a pair of duck legs confit, and while I'm usually no fan of dark meat poultry, these were prepared well with crispy skin and plenty of meat. For a typically hearty dish, the sauce seemed light (and a bit subdued), but that could be a consequence of serving atop polenta (more absorbent) rather than pasta. Speaking of pastas and sauces, the tagliatelle hit a nice balance of creamy and zesty without swimming in its white wine lemon sauce. Surprisingly, the highlight of the meal ended up being the dessert that Otto and Blue kindly offered as an anniversary gift. A scoop of vanilla bean gelato came adorned with a Biscoff cookie, a drizzle of olive oil, and a dash of salt. If salt and especially olive oil on ice cream seem vaguely blasphemous, don't knock it until you try it. Each bite was thoroughly delicious. It's a given that good food doesn't come cheap, but even so, Otto and Blue has no margin for error to justify what it charges. On food alone, it was close but not quite there. However, the overall experience made it worthwhile, and I have no regrets about dining here.

Between excellent service, from the host to the kitchen staff, and being a bright, cheery place decorated in a modern farmhouse feel (only complaint is the HARD seating), we love this place. The food is always delicious and seasoned perfectly with FLAVOR. For the appetizer, the Salad Pizza is absolutely scrumptious and was recommended by our server our first visit here last year. Honestly, it keeps bringing us back. The flavors are incredible. It has feta, mozzarella, topped with organic greens, shaved onions, tossed in a lemon/dijon dressing with shaved parmesan. It's a flavor bomb in the mouth. The meatloaf, is to die for. If you're a meatloaf eater this is for you. It's so tender and juicy and perfectly seasoned. Melts in your mouth and the sauce on top is the perfect blend of sweet and savory to top it off. For my two sides this time I chose the fried brussels sprouts and the greens. The greens are always seasoned perfectly and the brussels sprouts were crispy and full of flavor. They tasted even better dipped in my meatloaf sauce so that was a win-win. My boyfriend had the special which was short ribs. For his two sides, he had greens and green beans. The short rib was perfectly tender and absolutely delicious full of flavor and moist for him. The green beans and the greens were also perfect as well full of flavor, just enough fat and butter. It's a great little date spot or a family dinner. They also have outdoor seating covered with umbrellas. There's a bar inside with a TV if you choose to go watch sports and the food here is always on point full of flavor and makes you want to come back and try more things on the menu.
