STOP!!!
The atmosphere initially was pleasant, especially given the historic nature of the area. However, I do NOT recommend anyone stay here.
I'm a student and stuck here for 48 hours because they charged my cc as soon as I arrived ... you have a management controlled air conditioning and heating system- there's no way to cool:heat anything - the hotel solution-they delivered a fan and literally... a bucket of ICE water! Then trying to order from the restaurant I found a notice that said something about NOT DRINKING THE WATER and to either call or literally PAY for bottled water! You call, you will get a bucket of water with ice. Don't bother asking because I spoke with the owner after walking 1/4 a mile to buy bottled water ... doesn't really know why we
can't drink the water-- or what's in it ---apparently that's just what people say in Ireland...seriously! I asked why and when they tested it and the OWNER said he did not know! I'm a Chef AND a doctor and this makes absolutely NO sense! Keep away from the hotel and drinking anything here!! Anyone who claims to own a hotel- and doesn't know everything about his own hotel history and potential water contamination should NOT be allowed to own a hotel! In an old folder, he joked about in our conversation, that I thought was for room service that says they strongly recommend NOT drinking the water! This should be on the advisory for the hotel upon booking a reservation-period! I am appalled that I had to walk to get water because anything bottled was for SALE - NOT for the guests! I was explicitly told this more than once. Stay away! This is NOT safe nor acceptable! I will post a follow up upon my departure!
