Lisa and her team did an amazing job catering the reception at my dad's recent memorial. Big time recommend recommend! On a day that no one in the family was able to manage an event, they handled everything. From keeping the DELICIOUS apps buffet stocked and looking good, to working the room to keep everything in order. They then cleaned up and sent us home with the leftovers so we could take care of family and friends that stayed longer. In planning the event, Lisa was responsive and really helpful in advising us what to order and even not to order too much food. Lisa and Jim recently catered an event for our club. The venue was the beautiful Four Sisters Winery. They brought their mobile pizza oven and we enjoyed a nonstop array of freshly wood fired pizza. They provided at least six varieties, all delicious. We also had a lovely green salad and fresh fruit salad. To top it off we had their fabulous cheesecakes. We have used Cahoots for other events and the food is always excellent. They are an outstanding caterer. read more

This is a hard review to write, but business is business. Let's start with the positives. The food was amazing. There are no two ways about it, Cahoots makes some of the most delicious meals on the Central Coast. They are so good I even bought their cookbook. Tri-tip practically melted in your mouth and the Turkey was soooo flavorful. Our guests could not rave enough about everything. Could not be happier with the meal. The negative; communications. We started communicating through email and was assured that they would meet our needs for a September 11th Firefighters meal. On September 6th I reached out to see about adding some deserts to our order. Suddenly no responses at all. I left at least 3 phone calls, and an equal number of emails and nothing. By 11am on September 8th I was in full panic mode and looking for any last minute options. Shortly after I receive an email saying they have been out of town without internet service but are still ready to help us out. GREAT!!! On Saturday I get a phone call clarifying what I want finalizing with an agreement for them to arrive at 5:30pm as our service was at 6:00pm and there was prep work that needed to be completed. Ok. All is good. Now comes event day, all guests including 3 city fire departments are all in attendance waiting on dinner. 5:30 comes and goes and nothing. I start making phone calls and sending emails and nothing. Around 5:50 we were graced by their arrival. When I told the gentleman I was in a panic, I told him you said you'd be here at 5:30 and you're late. With a straight face he looks at me and says what time is it, and I say 5:50 and we are serving at 6:00. He just says oh, and gets frustrated with me. At that point I walked away and asked my wife to handle the rest. I'm VERY disappointed in their customer service. Communications and punctuality goes a long way especially in high visibility and stressful situations. If their team could work on better communications Cahoots could be the premier caterer on the Central Coast. Sadly for me, I will not use their services for any of our events again even though I know in my heart that we will be missing out on their delicious meals, but customer service is equally as important and in that capacity they fall well short of all expectations. read more

I'm very impressed with Cahoots service and food. As a co-planner of a recent gathering at a local campground, I worked with Cahoots to plan the food for the event. There were a number of changes leading up to the event and Cahoots handled all of them without complaint. They delivered the food exactly on time. The food quality was excellent. The vegetarian lasagna was so good that even non-vegetarians were going back for a round of the veggie lasagna. I highly recommend Cahoots for your event in the Paso Robles area and especially at one of the local campgrounds if you are planning an even there. We made an order for our Christmas lunch. We were going to have it delivered but once we found out how much the delivery fees were going to be ($175) we called them and informed them, that we would pick up instead. We'll they called and left a voicemail stating that they had canceled our order. Why? We didn't change the date or time, only because we decided to save money on the delivery fees. Who does that?? Paso Robles' Best Kept Secret Once upon a time there was a little restaurant in downtown Paso Robles called Cahoots. It was owned by the cutest, most down to earth, humble couple. They had a caesar salad that had so much garlic, your husband would know what you had for lunch as soon as you walked in the door. They invented the Thai chicken salad that jammed the phone lines every Thursday and sold out by 11 a.m. They made the most delicious, inventive desserts, soups and sandwiches. Then, a million wineries moved into town and their catering business exploded. Now, they only have 3 Yelp reviews. I am probably breaking some sort of locals' code of silence by writing this right now. They are the best caterers in North County, for any size event. You can go out to their place in Jardine and pick up beautiful and the most tasty party trays with the freshest cheeses, homemade hummus loaded with roasted garlic, steamed artichokes with house made aioli, charcuterie. Or you can have them out for barbecue with all the trimmings. Whatever you serve, make sure you have the Thai chicken salad! read more

I have been working my way through their TO GO Menu in 2020-21. All I can say is that you NEED to book a time to experience their food. I have ordered their "Dinner Party Helps" many times and it is like pushing the Easy Button!! Stop wondering if your main course will turn out well and just trust them to cook it to perfection and have it delivered perfectly ready. We ordered the ribs, chicken, Farmer's Market tray, dessert tray, and Mac & Cheese. Everything was delicious, and the guests eagerly filled to-go plates with the leftovers. We used Cahoots Catering for a birthday party at Denner Vineyards. I met with Lisa ahead of time to plan the menu and she was wonderful! She made suggestions and worked with our budget....but that was just the business end! Now for the best part - we decided on starters of 3 kinds of passed pizza...asparagus, goat cheese, & prosciutto and wild mushroom, pancetta, and smoked blue cheese and last but not least, margherita. I was told that the perfectly spiced tomato sauce on the margherita was Jim's recipe...SO YUM! Also, cheese board w/ fresh fruit, veggies (amazing...full artichokes, herbed potatoes, plus a whole lot more) It took up half of a large table! For dinner we selected mixed grill kabobs, a watermelon/feta arugula salad and Jim's favorite salad, gourmet mac & cheese (AMAZING!!!) and assorted artisan breads. For dessert...chocolate w/carmelized cocoa nib ice cream & spiced grenache syrup over berries w/chocolate sauce. Again...AMAZING!!! Lisa and Jim are gastronomic geniuses!!!! People are still talking about the kabobs and watermelon salad! How was Lisa able to keep 4 different kinds of meat juicy and tender for 70 very satisfied guests? We have always known Cahoots food is really good. So we called them for a celebration of life gathering, only to find out it was Zinfandel Festival weekend. They were booked up and so was everybody else. However they said, we may be able to help with are food to go program. They prepared all the food then delivered it on time, hot and delicious. We had the prime rib with potatoes, which was amazing, Jim's Favorite Salad, the Thai Salad, Tapas tray and dessert. All the food was absolutely delicious and made for a great day.
