At first she seems professional and very nice. When she arrived at my wedding she showed up with a cake that was no where near what I asked for. It was a sad excuse for poorly placed fondant. The back of the cake was not finished and had a huge seam on it and the top was sinking! The only thing she got somewhat right was the color we asked for. When I asked her why the cake was not finished she sayed "oh no one will see that it's in the back of the cake!" Also the cake was very dry and know where near the cake she presented us at tasting. She was very unprofessional and very rude with my wedding coordinator and guests. She is now blacklisted from the venue we had our wedding at! We were devastated! I wish I could leave pictures! My friend just had her wedding and this woman RUINED her wedding cake. It was supposed to be a beautiful ombre red 3 layer cake that was painted, and it turned out to be nothing like what she wanted. It was all half stuck on fondant that looked incomplete and tasted bland. It honestly looked like play dough on the cake, and the seams to what was supposed to be paint, but it ended up being 95% fondent were not even all the way wrapped around and falling apart. My friend will never get that day back and she didnt even find out her cake was messed up until the day of the wedding. This woman refuses to refund my friend and she almost ruined her wedding day. I've ordered cheesecakes from here twice now, and they were both stunning, both in appearance and taste. The first was a chocolate raspberry cheesecake. I asked them to decorate it with something nice (I had no ideas). They decorated it with beautiful flowers of all different colors and a pearl ring around the base. Everyone that ate it just about dropped to their knees. It was ridiculously good. The second was a chocolate amaretto cheesecake. This time I asked for bird decorations. They decorated it with a canary on some tree branches, with green leaves. Again, beautiful and delicious! There are a couple negative reviews about their wedding cakes. I can't speak to the wedding cakes, but their cheesecakes are grand slams. read more

Carolyn was a preferred vendor of Amici's Catering, and she was great. After going through the whole wedding process, we couldn't have been happier with our selection. She made a great white cake with cannoli filling that our guests couldn't stop eating. She also held our tasting session in our apartment, which was so convenient with everything else we had going on during the wedding. She was really great and you can tell she loves what she does. The worst wedding cake baker my husband and I visited when searching for our wedding cake. The store floor was dirt and was small. There wasn't enough sitting room to sample cakes, so we had to sample on their tiny sample table for their cake decorating books. The cakes themselves were terrible. The cake tasted like it was out of a box and those with a fruit swirl turned out soggy with whatever preserve/jam they used to swirl the cake. To top that off, the bare minimum was included in the cake package that was included in our catering. For what we're paying for, we didn't get much from this place so we went elsewhere. read more

They did our wedding cake a year ago and people are STILL raving about it! We got a two tier cheesecake- the top was amaretto, the bottom was raspberry white chocolate and both were out of this world. I would pass on their standard cakes, as they weren't the best, but if you're looking for a cheesecake, this is THE place to go. My sister got her wedding cake from A Better Cheesecake. Two tiers were white cake with raspberry filling and one tier was chocolate cake with raspberry mousse filling. We were really thankful we decided to get a chocolate tier. The chocolate cake was moist, light, and fluffy and was complemented nicely with the mousse filling. However, the white cake was a bit dry (an unmemorable white cake) and the raspberry jam filling had a completely artificial look and taste. The raspberry jam filling was bright red and looked like blood, surely the result of much artificial food coloring. The texture was gelatinous and the flavor was artificial and medicinal. I'm not sure the white "buttercream" frosting was made with real butter. In fact, that's the impression I had from all the cake I tried. I assume it was made with shortening, because it reminded me of Publix cake. People commented that it was "a really good wedding cake". But I didn't agree. On the upside, the frosting detail was beautiful. My sister chose really simple dots and diamonds with white icing that was to be complemented with fresh flowers. The first one was for a baby shower; I ordered the turtle cheesecake and all of the girls were raving about how good it was! This time I ordered a coconut cake for my mom's birthday that was just as good! They also do a very well job decorating the top of the cakes. They did it exactly what I asked them to do plus more! Can I just say, HOLY COW BATMAN THAT CHEESECAKE. Our cheesecake wedding cake is something we'll never forget. The only complaint I can make is that we didn't get to eat more of it at the actual reception!! =P That was not Carolyn's fault though, ha, we were just too damn busy. She makes DELICIOUS creamy cheesecake and our wedding cake was truly stunning. Looking at it, you wouldn't know it wasn't traditional cake. She gave us a top tier to keep for ourselves which is in our freezer and it's only been a month but we want it now! She came TO OUR HOME for the tasting. I will say, a few days prior to the wedding she was the only vendor that didn't "touch base" with us, but she reported she did send us an email (we didn't get it), but it might have been an honest mistake. It was slightly unnerving, but we touched base and everything was cool. And one bite of my heavenly white chocolate raspberry cheesecake made me forgot my tiny woes. I do highly recommend her if you want a cheesecake wedding cake. It was outstanding and nothing like anything else I've seen or had at a wedding. read more
