It leaned more savory undertones without the lightness, tart and sweetness. More meh. I tried adding more sugar. Was it the lemon in the jar instead of fresh squeezed? The batter? The whipped cream didn't help. Oh well, we tried. All in all folks seem to like it, but I wouldn't really say it's a Parisian cafe or a patisserie that I'd make a long drive.
