I do not recommend this place at all, he told me one price and then he was charging me a different price, he did the smog and i asked him did it pass he acted like he didn't hear me he made me pay full price and then told me it didn't pass and threw me out of the shop no explanation no why no nothing, horrible bad customer service read more

Another 20 year plus satisfied customer. Like others have said Mr Tran doesn't have much to say but is very polite and does an excellent job. He is very mindful of making sure your vehicle leaves the way it got there. Protects paint. Covers the seat and is clean. That alone is worth the money spent. He's my "guy" for smog checks read more

Tan the technician should have checked the car's computer for error codes before testing the smog check, I called 5 different smog testing stations and they all check the computer for error codes before doing the smog test. He charges full price again for the smog test and you end up paying twice for something you should only pay once. read more

I would never give a bad review to someone just because they're not friendly and this guy certainly isn't friendly whatsoever. After he tested my car he asked me if it was recently jump started which it had. He mumbled something about driving it more. I didn't know it didn't pass until I asked him. If I hadn't I would have left there and paid the registration fee not having a clue my new registration wasn't on its way. I asked if I have to pay for a retest and he said yes and went to another customer. Now I have to figure out what the heck he was talking about when he said drive it more. Screw this guy. read more

Looking for an honest, hard working smog inspection center guy? Try Mr. Tran. When I get that DMV notice, I start to tremble. Just like going to the dentist. Our cars are getting old. But he and his assistant, Jon, 'git er done' in a flash. We have been going there for a decade or more, and never had any complaints about his service. Your test results are electronically sent to DMV when you pass! We rely on him, and he knows how to get your car to perform right. I wonder if he doesn't give a little tweak here and there. Downside - he's hidden away in the back of an old commercial building, in an open garage. No air conditioning and just a few chairs while you wait. So either drop off your car, or walk across the street to the donut shop and cool off until he's ready. read more

This guy failed me for tampering because my CARB EEO decal fell off my state legal, factory installed intake, and he still charged me full price for the smog check. Then, after I got a new decal from the manufacturer he refused to run my test again and flat out told me 'go away.' He should have simply turned me away and told me to get the new decal, rather than flag my VIN as tamper/fail, but he just wanted the points for his license cause he's a crook. It's almost impossible to get another shop to run a smog for you when you have 'failed for tampering' attached to your VIN. Bottoms line: this shop is crooked and deserves a visit from DCA. read more

The older Asian man working there is grumpy. He didn't acknowledge me just asked for my keys and took my car .. finished smogging the car, doesn't tell me anything again , ask how am I going to pay .. Thinking I passed , he runs the credit card , charges me then says "car wasn't warm enough, converter failed" .. so I ask why didn't he just let me drive the car a few more miles .. doesn't say a word and walks off to another customer.. horrible customer service ..wish I would of read the reviews before hand read more

There are a lot of false statements on here and people who obviously don't read. Been here 3 times already and Phillip is awesome, he's quiet, straight to the point, and just does the job. People are mistaking his quiet, straight forward attitude as rude. He's not there to bend over backwards for you. Prices are clearly listed in his shop, he has signs for stipulations and other fees, yet he's still the cheapest smog check in the area. This guy is a crook. My check engine light was on and they ran the test anyway although they told me that is an automatic fail. So I had to pay him $50 When I challenged him on it he mumbled something about if I had any questions I could call... no I told him that the test should not have been run. You robbed me!!! read more

I have coming here for years. This time will be the last time. My Nissan truck didn't pass because the OBOII computer wasn't ready. So he tell me to come back in 10 days or less for a recheck and do some more driving. He never said that I will be charge again, especially FULL PRICE! When I mention the price board in his shop that says retest up to $30 he says that sign is not correct . The paper work says "AT A DISCOUNT" ...ya a discount of $1. The other bad point, he has no help, and he move so slowly. read more

Phillip has been smogging my cars and trucks for years. He always smogs them right away and I have never had any issues. If you want it done right bring your car or truck here! I've seen people post that he's rude. He's a very nice older man. He's been here since 1984. People these days want to be treated like kings and queens in order to get a great review. We went to Cal Smog in Norco to smog our RV, when we arrived, the owner upped the quoted phone price by $20, when we got upset and left we unknowingly left our registration and smog check documents. When we retuned 10 minutes later the one and only employee, Mr. Tran, stated he never received the latter documents even though four witnesses had seen him take possession of them. Upon leaving the second time, we overheard another customer complaining about not receiving the quoted price. If you are thinking about using this facility, and he tries this scam on you, please report this to the Norco Police Department, so as to stop this unethical business practice. MrTran, is betting that most people will not take the time to report this kind of practice. I told Mr. Tran I would report him, he stated, "fine." read more

Located behind Brake Masters so it can be difficult to locate. Fast service! My whole family has taken their cars to get smog checks here over the years. Nice older gentleman. He's not super friendly, but also not rude at all; just very quiet. He gets the job done quickly so you're in and out within 15 minutes. read more

Took my truck to this place and it failed. I noticed the tester did NOT follow the rules on the computer screen. The screen said "Maintain 15 MPH." The tester drove at 16 MPH. The vehicle failed the test. I took my truck to Inland Smog. The truck passed on the first try. No repair needed. My advice, avoid this place. read more

Been a customer for over 10 years. Used their services at least 20-30 times (lots of cars). One time Tram called me to remind me to return for a re-test so I would not have to pay extra. i thought that was pretty cool of him. I suggest calling ahead to ask how long the wait will be if you are testing on a Saturday. I gave them 5 stars because they are state certified and there is not much they can do different than any other shop regarding the testing or pricing. read more

This place was terrible. I'm getting my car worked on at the shop next door to this smog check shop. Which is convenient since my car needs a smog check. I walk over to the ask what they charge to smog check my '96 Civic. The guy stares at me then mumbles something about having to put it on the machine that spins the wheels and that sometimes the RPMs go to high. He was not friendly and absolutely no help as to why my car was a problem to smog. They are only getting one star so I can post this. read more

Sign outside says Test Only - IT IS NOT. We walked in, were not greeted - as the only man working there SNATCHED papers right out of my husbands hands without saying a word!! Then grunted that we needed to go somewhere else, since he's NOT a test only smog. Do NOT go here. read more
