Brett and Carl will consider small jobs. I had 8 handrail brackets and they plated them and brackets look great. I was looking for a chrome plating place and I contacted W.F. Scott & Co. in Pico Rivera. Turns out they don't do chrome plating and referred me to Cal-Tron, specifically Brett and Carl. Cal-Tron did the plating and I couldn't be more pleased with the results and the price. At first I was seriously put-off by the terrible reviews on Yelp but I think those are phony reviews put there by their competitors. They do that kind of thing on Yelp, competitors try to damage the reputation of their competition with bad reviews. Anyway, I'm happy with Cal-Tron. I am sure you will be too.. read more

What can I say other than Brett and his crew are the last of a dying breed! They are the best chrome shop money can buy and the fact that they are family owned makes me glad that I can take my business to them and know that they are going to take pride in their work and go that extra mile that most shops just won't go. The job they did for me was flawless even though it required extensive skill and knowledge to execute. Furthermore, Brett was very responsive and updated me as the project went along. Lastly after Brett gave me an estimate that was already lower than the 5 other shops in the area I went to he still gave me an additional veterans discount when it came up that I'd served. I sent my Supra valve covers to Cal Tron to have them plated with Black Nickel (Black Chrome). Although it took about a month to complete it was worth the wait. The black nickel plating is flawless even with the issues with the polishing. They were very responsive to my phone calls and kept me posted on the progress of the valve covers. I was able to pay them cash on delivery which was really convenient for me. The prices are very reasonable. I would recommend them to others looking for valve and great quality. I will be going back to them very soon to have more parts plated. read more

I don't understand why the negative reviews. This place is still family owned and run. Every time I take small projects and pieces to be plated they give me an unbeatable price and service. They have an extensive operation that although it is geared towards large orders and companies, they don't ignore servicing individual folks. I am used to getting guitar things and other small things plated here, and in this regard they stand way above the competition in the area. I have compared their prices against the competition and whether I am stripping an existing finish or plating a piece, Cal-Tron always seems to stand on top. You have to persistent yet patient, but they stand behind their work so if you are not happy, they will accommodate you. read more

This place is horrible!! It took them 8 months to chrome my parts. They lost half of my parts. My light bezels were destroy. Then he tells me "this is the way you drop them of" wtf! I call them everyday asking about my lost parts. They tell me will call you back. read more

BEWARE OF CALTRON PLATING!!!! - - - - - - If Yelp had a negative Star rating it is the only one CalTron deserves . Carl is a piece of work. He lied about the status of my order stating that they shipped my items. When I asked him to double -check I had to call them 3 days later for a return call. At that point he found my parts and he said "they are being plated as we speak" 2 months later after multiple run arounds he claimed these same parts were shipped even though i sent him all the packing slips that backed up the fact that he did not ship them. I tried to call him twice and and he cursed at me and hung up on me. The bottom line is it will cost me $1050 to replace the parts he lost and in addition he butchered my parts I did receive in which 15% of what he touched he ruined. He claimed those parts were "damaged in shipping " when it was clear there divots in the surface from the buffer. This will cost me an additional $805. His initial cost to me if things were done properly was only $1500. Now I have to explain to my client what went wrong and why their products are being delayed. Kind of like me saying "my dog ate my homework" But no I will take responsibility it was my mistake for hiring Caltron Plating. The worst Experience in my 30 years in business! If you value your items CalTron will either lose them or damage them beyond repair and then treat you like a piece of garbage. read more
