Went there for a simple piece of flatbar. Got to the counter, purchased the piece and walked out to the yard with my receipt. Waited about 15 minutes before "Carlos" took my receipt to retrieve my metal. I was standing there before several other customers arrived with their receipts. They handed their receipts to other dudes, but not to Carlos Well, those dudes all came and went with their purchases while I still waited. I asked Carlos how long it would take, he said he had to get the metal from the back area because they didn't have any up front. He then proceeded to cut metal (not mine) on the saw there. After waiting 45 minutes and still no metal, I asked Carlos for my receipt back and went back inside for refund. A manager asked what the issue was, he checked the product and time on the receipt and then said he'd handle it. He went out to the yard, said some stuff on his radio and within 5 minutes, he came back with my metal and apologized for the wait and poor service from Carlos. Time is money and Carlos could care less. Anyhow, quite annoying but glad I found the manager and he solved the issue. read more

They Schorr know what they're doing! Okay, but seriously, I love this place. As you drive into the back lot, with the right set of eyes, one beams with a torrent of creative possibilities. You can have just about anything custom built, from a small bracket with laser cut art to a large skater park. I came in for a small job, customizing my motorcycle's sissy bar to be shorter. They precision cut it, drilled and tapped the new holes and made it look as if it were made that way. Now it rocks! And it was very reasonable: about $50. I went to Schorr Metals as a uneducated women and left a happy customer. The great service began the day before I arrived at their Placentia, CA location when I called and spoke to a very pleasant and helpful women. I asked a bunch of questions and she was patient and informative. The next day I arrived and was told where to go to find metal that I might use for the project I was trying to complete. After looking through the racks it was clear I needed help. I started to panic because normally when I am a female in a male dominated environment trying to get assistance I am ignored or marginalized. I saw a worker approach and asked for help and he was awesome! He asked the questions needed to find exactly what I needed and then he set me up with the laser technician who made the custom laser cuts. Everything was done quickly and professionally. Scales are few and far between in Orange County, and most of them could care less about your business. Schorr Metals makes it simple - drive right up onto the scale, bring your VIN# inside and $10, and one of the office ladies will have your weight certificate for you in a few minutes. If you've ever had the pleasure of getting a weight certificate at a truck stop, you'll know that this experience is much, much better. I hope they stay in business for a long time. I placed an order here a while back. I was told it would be ready when I got there and it was not. I waited about 40 minutes for them to cut the metal which was the extent of the job. Just cutting. The waiting was not reason enough for a horrible review but it should have been reason enough for me to avoid this company. Well my bad I guess.. I placed another order for the same type of job.. Just cutting 4 and 4 1/2 " pipes. When I arrived the order was ready!!! But it was all wrong. They handed me 1 1/2 and 2" pipes. Well they so kindly offered to have me wait the 45 minutes it would take to cut the correct size and thank you so much for the offer!!! Since this place is over an hour from my home... and my 1pm meeting... I could not wait so I asked them to deliver it to which they replied "Oh we don't go out there" "Oh we don't have the staff" Meanwhile there are about 20 guys standing around. After wasting the drive time and the 15 minutes arguing about how they should maybe make an exception in this case and just deliver the Correct order, to no avail of course, they informed me that they don't even have the 4 1/2" and I would have to go up to 5. WONDERFUL! Yes I lost it. I have not seen the refund in my account yet. Please do refund~ The total cost of the job that wasn't done Gas money And most of all please give me my 3 hours of wasted time back. read more

Most every piece of Aluminum I bought was scratched, some pieces had the ends bashed in, so I have to cut 1/8-1/4 of the end to clean up. Not much care is taken to prevent scratches when pulling off the rack, and yesterday I had to watch my my material being thrown onto the saw, and then onto the forklift arms, adding extra scratches and dents. I go to Schorr for many of my projects and they are very helpful. I've been to other places like this and they usually give the worst customer service unless I'm buying 100's of dollars worth of material. Camilo is great with multi-tasking and keeping things rolling. I'm very picky about detail and sometimes have to get things re-cut. All the workers were ready to clock out, but a few walked up to me to ask if I needed any help. 5 minutes later I had found the right size 30ft x.120wall mild steel tube. Back in June 19, 2019 I was buying at SCHORR METALS INC. purchasing some materials finally I was in line to pay and all of the sudden an spider black widow came from the roof in landed in my face I told the cashier about this accident and he said that he has working 10 years and never has a spider bit it, the fact that I was bitten doesn't mean you never will. To make long story sort I end up and E.R. and the consequences concerning my health were very serious at a point that till today I still taking medications to recover my health. The sad part of this is that I tried to contact the owners, so they can report this incident to their insurance and the insurance see my case, unfortunately, they are ignoring me and rejecting my calls, I sent medical reports to them so they can see and acknowledge this incident for further accident reference and so they can contact me back, but seems like they don't care. I am advising you if you go there for shopping and you have suffer an accident you may not going to have any warranties. read more

Obviously Chris has screen envy! The manager is not there for your convience purchases. He is there for the more technical purchases. The guys in the yard DO understand English and are very helpful, if you need help. The whole organization is very informed and professional. If you do go elswhere for better pricing you will probably be going to several different stores. For most metal fabricators Schorr Metals has everything you need.
