For $600 for four months it seemed like a…read morereasonable deal, given that it has decent facilities which include a couple of well-maintained indoor tennis courts. Unfortunately, though, these courts have an odd surface that I've never seen anywhere else. I can only describe it as 'soft and mushy'. It wasn't bad to play on, and was probably easy on the body (much of the clientele appears to be of an older demographic here, and maybe the choice of the surface was made for their benefit), but I assume that playing here often would make it hard to adjust to typical hardcourt surfaces, where the ball bounces harder, faster, and higher. I'll continue looking for a place to play tennis this summer... As for the other facilities (gym, pool, etc), they're all decent, but I've seen better elsewhere in town. The star attraction here is the tennis courts; it's unfortunate they're so strange...

I am writing this review specifically on the Golf Academy…read more The hubs and I got this living social voucher for 5 buckets of range balls at the indoor golf facility, which was perfect, as I wanted to get practice before our Palm Springs trip. We went around 3:30 on Wednesday and there was maybe 3 other people there. So lots of space, could still have a convo and not distract anyone. They have numerous boxes to practice swings at, as well as a whole other area for putting and short game. The features looked nice, sand trap and some water so you can get a true feel for how a lot of golf games end up. They also have the simulators there too, so you can practice a whole game with your friends and have a couple drinks. They offer lessons and have a mini pro shop if you need to pick anything up. Being new to the indoor golf world (personally it's still ski season, I want to be outside, not in) the facility seemed good and they have parking there too.

Many Calgary restaurants close on Mondays so the club turned out to be a great alternative. I have bad memories of mediocre food at clubs around the world. The don't seem to have enough business to keep creative chefs. The meal last night at Glencoe was excellent. One of my friends and I both had risotto with seafood. It was as good as any risotto I've eaten outside of Italy. The other friend had perfectly grilled salmon. It looked yummy. He ate every bite. The three of us split two desserts. Both were great. The service was very good. While the room was full, but the tables had enough that we could catch up with each other after 25 years. Everyone at Glencoe from the receptionist to the other patrons was very both friendly and helpful.

The staff is amazing too with being available for thing like last minute printing and even supplying name tags. Everything is professional and follows my banquet event order perfectly. Lastly, the acoustics are great and our and the having 3 screens available gives us lots of visual options.

Elizabeth is always nice to me, and has gotten me to start going back to gyms after a 2 year hiatus to pursue calisthenics. When Shakespeare wrote of the transcendental beauty of Olivia in Twelfth Night, it was highly likely the mental image he conjured up was that of Elizabeth. I get sad when I don't get to see Elizabeth. In fact, the customer service she has provided has been second to none. If I was an employer, I would model my entire employee training structure around how well she handles customers. Frankly, I would be surprised if Elizabeth did not find herself rapidly ascending the ranks of MNP and taking on a very high level position. It would be a discredit to MNP if that did not happen. Elizabeth is absolutely 100% amazing. The GOAT. I think Michael Jordan writes Elizabeth fan mail. I could go on. But I won't. But I could. You get the picture. You BETTER get the picture. Elizabeth -- you are the freaking coolest, and if you read this I hope you know that seeing you really is a highlight of my week.
