Many Calgary restaurants close on Mondays so the club turned out to be a great alternative. I have bad memories of mediocre food at clubs around the world. The don't seem to have enough business to keep creative chefs. The meal last night at Glencoe was excellent. One of my friends and I both had risotto with seafood. It was as good as any risotto I've eaten outside of Italy. The other friend had perfectly grilled salmon. It looked yummy. He ate every bite. The three of us split two desserts. Both were great. The service was very good. While the room was full, but the tables had enough that we could catch up with each other after 25 years. Everyone at Glencoe from the receptionist to the other patrons was very both friendly and helpful.

In one case, our the per person cost didn't go over room fee and we were credited back with goods. I book many events across the country and this one is the most reasonable venues ever...also it is so beautiful. They have so many choices in high quality food, and delicious coffee. The staff is amazing too with being available for thing like last minute printing and even supplying name tags. Everything is professional and follows my banquet event order perfectly. Lastly, the acoustics are great and our and the having 3 screens available gives us lots of visual options.

No limit on court booking, but maximum of one booking per day - Friendly staff working the front - $20.00 labour for re-stringing Bad - Extremely poor layout in the bubble to get to your court. The only way to walk through is the MIDDLE of everyone's courts. Never seen this at a club before. Wastes several precious minutes of your court time - For non-members, it's an additional $10.00/person fee. For two non-members, a court booking costs $45.00 + GST for one hour - No out of town membership options - Have to commit to a full year membership (and can't cancel early) - Ball fluff is everywhere on the courts - Divider nets are poor quality; holes in the net and doesn't fully cover the court openings - Men's locker is cramped Good if you're a member, not so much as a non-member. 3.5 stars.

Ball Hockey for little munchkins in the early morning all the way to grown ups playing some sort of men's league hockey. Next to the hockey area, they have two full size basketball courts and soccer which they play league games or tournaments I'm guessing. As well as a couple work out areas where I've seen them throwing footballs in some sort of training programs. Overall, the facility is in very good condition even though the building looks old. Read on their site, you can book the facility for whatever you may need. I would recommend looking into this facility if you need to book sporting events or hold league games as it's a pretty nice facility.

We were there for a kids basketball game. 2 basketball courts, a ball hockey rink and a dry land training area. A little off the beaten path, but worth checking out! Do note the parking is a challenge in front. They have a small lot to park that is very busy. They also have an over flow lot so don't get discouraged looking for it.

Many of our games are booked at the Calgary Jewish Center, so after a number of years in this league, I am quite impressed with this facility. I haven't seen the entire centre, but the area that I frequent has a very large gym, well-equipped change rooms, and our games are played in a fully stocked gymasium, where we play volleyball, basketball, dodgeball, floor hockey and soccer. I have also taken some yoga classes there, and their yoga studio is very impressive as well! If you live in the SW, definately check out the programs at this center. It is open to all to take fitness classes!

The only thing I think that this library does not have is the stationary computers that you can print fro because with you library card you get $5.00 of free printing a month and I couldn't find a printer for that here. Also their kid zone is a little smaller than the others. They have great programs. One program that I went to on a Thursday was the science program that is in the afternoon and they did a segment on optical illusions!

They also have a universal locker space which is shared by all genders and ages. The YMCA offers plenty of swim classes, but relatively low number of options for land classes given the price of the memberships. The Remington YMCA building is also home to the Quarry Park library which is quite lovely. You do not need a membership with the YMCA to access it.

There are gymnasiums to work out gym to ice rinks and party rooms. Swimming is my main focus as that it is the warmer of the ones in Calgary. Wave pool and water slides. Room to bring out your bocce ball set, kick a soccer ball around with some friends, or hit up the tennis courts. What I thought was neat about the playground is that instead of pebbles or sand or even shredded up tires, it's got this flooring that's kinda bouncy and soft. Can I have that for some gym flooring somewhere please? I might just go do laps around there :p.
