Our experience at Sides was a good one this last spring! My husband nearly totaled his SUV, and…read morethankfully he wasn't seriously injured! Geico came to our home to do the estimate and I got on the phone to find a body shop that could complete the repairs in a reasonable amount of time. Many folks are repairing their vehicles instead of buying new ones when they are wrecked, and all the body shops are backed up. Seriously backed up! Sides made the most sense to us and within a couple of weeks we had a drop off appointment. The staff are friendly, cordial, honest and thorough. We knew going in there was a shortage of parts for Mazda [our SUV] and I think Subaru. Plus, Geico had to go to the body shop to perform at least 2 supplemental estimates updating the original estimate. This is because additional damage is often found during repairs, for example, the front seat needed replacing. Time was not a critical issue for us, as we bought a replacement vehicle in the interim. Sides took about 8-10 weeks to complete the job, which they told us up front. They quickly updated me at every follow up phone call and they offer a text messaging status service which is not really accurate or dependable. Do call them, they will talk to you and help you on the phone. We were pleased with all the work including the paint job, when we picked the car up and I've enjoyed my "new" [new to me, it is a 2016 model] car ever since. I highly recommend Sides! You can double check me, but I'm pretty sure there are 2 Sides shops in Athens.

I dont normally leave reviews for things, but after mulling this one over a while I had to. Simply…read moreput, this place is incompetent. It took a month to get my car in, I told them, not them, I told Cole that I'd been hit, where I'd been hit what damage was under the surface. They got my car, then ordered the parts. So inefficient. Shuffled around their numerous locations on town which each must do a specific job. It was delayed first cause theyre paint guy, guy, 1, was out. Second time for the alignment guy. GUY, then he sees the damage I already told Cole about. Now more parts and delays. Took 3 weeks. Technically they were still waiting on a part, but I said screw it and got my car. Haven't heard since. I'd heard for years how good Joe hudsons was,but it isn't true, and since collision repair shops are a dime a dozen here if I need one, it'll be someone else. P.s., just noticed the body work was shotty. See photo.

They drove off and left me on my own. I made a gamble and took it to joe Hudson's repair in south parkway. I told them about these 3 things only and left it there to have done as they were confident these would be covered. my absent had confirmed this as well. I came back a couple weeks later after they called me and I saw that it was all fixed except the passenger side mirror which was put back on and looked as if the casing was repaired but the mirror and the mechanism inside that mirror wasn't repaired. I asked why this was and I was told it was damaged in A prior accident and that I had to pay for it out of my own pocket. I asked who said that and I was told my agent had said this. I left immediately a bit ticked and called my agent and was told he never said that and all 3 things were approved in the repair. I thought to myself why would you put on a new mirror casing and not repair the mirror itself and the mechanism within that moves it? Well they called back after 10 min or so and said it would be repaired asap. i think what had happened was they screwed up and blamed it on my insurance and didn't take the blame. joe hudsons manager lied to my face and this is what really upset me. I wouldn't be so upset if he would have just said we made a mistake and corrected it instead of making up a story and lying to my face. This is the last time we use them.
