Coors is run by assholes. Called them 30 minutes before I get there just to make sure they are open on NYE and was told they as open til 5. Get there, again 30 minutes later and no one is there. Call the Cutler store and they said they are closing early at 1 due to weather (sending employees home in the MIDDLE of the storm). I advised him it's 12:30 and I just spoke to Coors at 12 and his response was "I dunno man I guess they wanted to leave" I'll take my $2000 elsewhere. read more

I've been to both locations, both are super friendly and helpful. But, I favor the one on the west side. They are insanely friendly, super knowledgeable, the establishment itself is very large, clean, well laid out, has a great selection and the fine folks there are always happy to answer all questions you may have. I went in Today and was assisted by Josiah- who I might add was a SUPER awesome guy. Super friendly, super knowledgeable, super nice. I told him I hadn't shot a handgun for awhile and had a new one with me to use on their range. He explained everything to me, was very friendly and even offered to step out on the range with me to show me the ropes, explain how their range works and made sure I was shooting properly and safely. Not only that but when he saw my gun he got really excited and told me to see him when I was done shooting. Turns out he had just recently gotten the same gun himself! The whole experience just made my day an awesome day. I highly recommend Calibers to anyone looking to buy a gun, gun supplies, ammo or even look around and ask questions. read more

I have been in the store three times since I moved here two years ago and have walked out empty handed every time. The sad part is this place was recommended to me before I moved from Oregon. The most recent I was looking at buying a S&W 500; $1,500. I work graveyards and so I sleep during the day, so unfortunately, I do most of my buying as stores are closing. I'm always polite about it and explain my schedule and most are understanding. My wife and I got to the Coors location about an hour before closing time. I told the guy I was interested in looking at the S&W 500. The person said we stop doing background checks after 5. I explained my schedule and asked for some information and to look at it. Instead of showing me the firearm him and another person were tying their hardest to talk me out of purchasing it. I told them I was looking for a protection handgun when my wife & I are in the wilderness and feel my 1911 won't do the job if needed. Without knowing my 43 years of firearm experience I felt they were judging me that I couldn't handle such a firearm. He went as far as placing a round on the counter in front of me and said this is the round for it. Again, not knowing I've been looking to buy a 500 for a while. He did eventually hand me a rental to hold. He continued to bash the firearm on how heavy it was etc., not knowing I prefer heavy weapons. The other person was suggesting a 10mm but instead of showing me anything they continued to tell me how horrible the recoil was on the 500. At that point I was done, my wife and I walked out, as we were getting in the car my wife said Well, they apparently are making enough money to not need our business. They never offered to show me the new 500, or the 10mm. I was not welcomed to come back the next day to even finalize a purchase if I decided on one. Absolutely zero for customer service and wanting to sell anything regardless of the store closing time. Three strikes and you're out! I will not give Calibers another chance. I took my bag of money and will continue to take my bag of money to Sportsman's. I ended up buying the Performance S&W500 and accessories and they got a $1,700 sale. We're full-time RVers and when we get somewhere with public ranges we try to practice shooting. Through an Internet search, we found Calibers. We went in on a Monday afternoon and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The range time was reasonably priced, everything worked the way it was supposed to, and we were able to shoot without any problems. No one hanging over our shoulders but available for any questions. We're in Albuquerque on vacation now, although we used to have a second home in the area. Been to Calibers twice. The first time we were buying a few items, and Caiden, who waited on us, was absolutely lovely to us and tried to help us in any way possible. I'd highly recommend him to anyone coming in to the store. The second time, I was trying out some specific ammunition against the ammunition I'd brought for our trip. I think the range fees are quite high (although in all honesty, the ranges I go to back home I go on memberships, so the fees for individual range visits are zip), but as a veteran I went on Monday and paid half-price. The facility is extremely clean and well-kept, and honestly, if I lived here, I'd be scraping the bottom of my financial barrel for the membership costs. I am very pleased with this place. read more

Calibers is a great ABQ establishment with a couple of convenient locations. I only gave them 3 stars as they tend to be on the expensive side, i.e. full list price for their guns while other guns shops typically discount. They started doing some price matching but I am not sure who they will let you price match with. I got a mysterious call one day from someone verifying the price I sell a gun for, as if they were price matching. The other knock on the place is like another reviewer said, and that had to do with the staff. Some are great, some others act like they are superior and you are lucky to get any attention. Even when there are no other customers needing their service, they would rather watch what is going on at the shooting range or talk amongst themselves vs. being more attentive. If they don't think you are going to drop a bundle, you are on your own. Wonder if they are commission based? read more

I happen to get a gift card and a super shooters card from this company as a gift. I'm moving and I'm not going to be able to use these cards, so I call them and they tell me that they can't refund. DJ is amazing! The staff here is attentive, informative, and friendly. My brother and I are visiting from California. We've never held a handgun before. We felt very welcomed by everyone. DJ was our instructor. He made us feel safe, was patient, and provided clear direction. My brother consistently hit the target. Couldn't have done it without a great teacher. I went there to shoot about a week ago and had a lovely time. Signing in is done on a tablet and it goes quickly. Loved that . The range was reasonably priced and it included two zombie targets, two paper targets and ear protection. You can stay for the day if you wished. The man who checked us in was so nice- I forget his name, but has has white hair and glasses. Go to him. He was very sweet and informative. The range was clean, except for the brass on the floor- but that is unavoidable. Nice place, nice staff. read more

I am a veteran of OEF and OND in Afghanistan. I appreciate when a business tries to make veterans feel welcome. This place is not those places. Calibers has The most unapologetically awful customer service. I have had better customer service in a pawn shop. Don't shop online because they will not call you when your order arrives - like it says in the confirmation email. Do not shop in the store because EVERYTHING is over priced. Three guns peaked my interest while I waited 30 minutes to receive my pistol that was already at the store and they were all more expensive than almost everywhere else in town. I was recently in the market for a new firearm and have never purchased from calibers before, been in a few times but never bought. I had tones of questions on new models, brands etc... and got excellent service, one gentleman even went as far as to let me shoot his personal firearm just so I could get a feel of it and see exactly what I was purchasing. I've never had that kind of service from a gun shop, ever! Being in retail over 7 years I understand customer service and respect businesses who show and give it proudly. I wear suits everyday to work and on my days off I dress casually, I usually get judge based on appearance but did not get that here. I was very pleased with the visit and ended up purchasing my firearm with them. I will continue to shop at this location and hope to receive the Same treatment every time. read more

***Coors location*** Do not go there! First of all we were extremely patient with the long wait. So I purchased a $415 gun. My party of three and I were accused of firing into the wall. The manager got in my friends face embarrassing us all. He said he was going to review the cameras and charge someone's credit card for the damages. We all said go ahead it was not us. Then he says NO MORE SHOOTING until he looks at the cameras. We had just got into the lane. Then I went out to see what was going on and again he said, "no more shooting!" I was like really we just got in the lane and there was only 15 minutes left to shoot. They closed early because it was Calibers Christmas party. I was like I purchased a gun from you guys and waited patiently and this is how we get treated? He continued saying until he reviewed the cameras which made us all feel like he swears we did it. Here's a thought how about you check your cameras first before jumping to conclusions? Never have I ever been treated this way. So a brand new .380 Smith and Wesson damaged your wall? When before us there was a couple of guys shooting an assault rifle? It's not rocket science sir. Everyone go to the outdoor shooting range it's cheaper and they have great customer service! The range and staff were helpful, so I got two memberships. This is where it went from 4 stars to 1. We decided to cancel our membership, I sent an email through their website for information on cancelling. A week goes by with no response. I called the number for Cutlers, went through the phone tree and got the voice mail for the membership person (Dave). Another week no response. Called again, same process and of course no response from anyone. What good is it to have someone over memberships, if they do not reply to members (those paying their salary). I went into Cutlers and spoke with a polite young man, filled out the cancelation request, that they never tell you about, and moved on. Then I got an email saying there will be one more withdrawn from my account, due to the 30 days cancelation policy, that they do not tell you about. If Dave would have called me back in an appropriate manner, my 30 days would have been satisfied. I recommend CAUTION with memberships. read more

My fiance and I went here to shoot this week. I have only shot a couple times at Calibers and am still a little rusty in my technique. We were having a great time until I accidentally shot too close to the ceiling. A very rude employee named Preston came into the range and proceeded to speak to me very condescendingly and told my fiance that he needed to keep an eye on me. I explained that it was an accident and he gave me a very dirty look and blew me off as he spoke to my fiance about what had happened. I was so embarrassed that I was too afraid to shoot much after that. I usually never post about things like this but to be treated like a child when an honest mistake was made is just not ok. Because of how I was treated by Preston, I will probably never go to this location again. read more

The worst customer service I have ever endured. The counter service was rude and argumentative from the start. It's a gun shop and range. So treat it as such. I carried in a tac vest with an unloaded 92 fs and the guy behind the counter who was already stalling because we asked for two lanes side by side told us we cant do that until we register. Then he treats me like shit and demands my vest which I gave to him. I told him the 92 was unloaded as well as the magazines. No worries lets register. Then its a lecture about open carrie in the shop. No worries. But they open carry. So after being lectured, and there is no signage saying no open carry, about my 92 fs we are like were ready to go. The counter help was no you're not go to the Ipad and sign in then we can proceed. This was wasting my time and being really weirdly controlling. So we register give up our IDs and go too shoot. We proceed to set up start warming up and having fun. Then bam you can't shoot that ammo here. Its steel core. Again signage so we get kicked out. At the counter thehelp was trying to explain the expulsion. No we get the facts of expulsion. I want my money back or some free passes for the next time. (These guys were fucking rude and acted like my money doesn't matter. Well I know that the reason they don't want steel is because they recycle the copper and brass.) So the manager comes over and is so rude. The entry fees are nothing to his over head of the day. And I'm a life ling shooter. I will never set foot into the Calibers on Washington or any one of them ever again. They're overpriced and I spend money on guns. Worst idea ever to have fuck heads running your shop. I work in a professional field. These are not professional people and don't act like it. They prey on non shooters fears. read more

I will NEVER go to Calibers (West side) again nor will I recommend this place to friends family or acquaintances. About 2 weeks ago on a Saturday 2pm myself and my wife went to Calibers to buy a 1911. As soon as my wife walked in the East doors she was overwhelmed by most of the male employees asking her if she needed help with anything. Even the person at the cash register who was checking out a customer offered to help my wife. This caught my attention as this has never happened to me when I went to Calibers prior. My Wife who is a shooter walked over to the holsters as I went on to look at the handgun display. The person who helped me (Heavy set with glasses) was more interested at looking at what my wife was doing than helping me buy a handgun. After about 5 mins we decided to leave. As we walked back to our vehicle my wife told me the staff made her feel uncomfortable with the excessive and un-wanted attention she received. Strike 1 Today 5/20/16 I returned to Calibers (West side) with out my wife and was greeted very professionally by a employee named DJ who I never seen there before. DJ and I talked about a 1911 I was interested in. DJ asked if I was a member of the Law Enforcement Community (as I had my firearm in a holster with my badge) I told him yes I was. We went on talking about 1911's as I was on the fence on purchasing a $1,100.00 E-series, DJ was telling me his experiences with that weapon when we were interrupted by another employee (Thin guy with a cap) who walked up to me asking me if I had a CCW. I told him no I don't have a CCW. The unknown employee responded with "I can't have you in here". I told the employee I was a cop and showed him my badge. DJ waved his hand and told the unknown employee "I got it". The employee turned around and began walking away from me appearing as if he was irritated saying "I would like to know too!!!". I was appalled by the actions of the interrupting employee and decided to leave the store never to return. Strike 2!.. I did shake DJ's hand and thanked him for being very professional and personable. There are 2 other great gun stores just up the road in Rio Rancho both are located on Southern Blvd. My wife has always been treated with respect and felt comfortable at both Rio Rancho gun shops. The actual Bull Dogs at one gun shop were more respectful to my wife than the staff was at Calibers. read more

I recently bought a gun here and the young man who sold it to me told me I had free range access, for life, for buying my gun there. He gave me a punch card with 2 places to punch and when I asked him about it he again told me it would work. I went and bought some shells for it today, 4/3/16, and told the guy checking me out that I have a "life" range access for buying a gun there and would be back in a while. He took a look at my id and my card, looked it up, asked if I had a membership, told me how the picture of the gun was for a discount on a handgun course, and the target picture was for a discount on a membership. The card had both punches for the range punched, but he never said a word about it when I told him I would be back in a bit. He did, however, sell me $115.00 in shells and said okay. When I went back in at 7:20 PM to shoot a few rounds THE SAME GUY told me "oh I'm sorry I misunderstood". I was very quiet and ask him again why he didn't say anything and he said I needed to speak with the manager. When the manager got there he told me it was only good for two visits. I explained everything again and since he was adamant about it I said "then I would like to return these shells I bought here a few hours ago" and he asked if I had a receipt. I said yes, but I had to go to the car to get it. Then he told me the receipt says they have a NO return policy on shells. I then asked him why the other man would sell me $115.00 in shells and never tell me I only had two visits to practice, which were already used, when I told him they sold me the gun with the promise of a lifetime range access. The man that sold me the gun lied to get me to buy the gun, and as far as I am concerned, the mans silence that sold me the shells was lying to me just to get me to buy the shells. Had he told me then that the card was only good for two visits I would have never bought the shells. The manager said "because I took the shells home he had no Idea what I might have done with them". I then said "I am a gimp and what am I going to do with them? Reload them with something else?". I said here is the bundle and you can count every one of the 250 of them. Again NO return. I told him if he couldn't train his employees in good business I would never be back. Unfortunately, it is too late to take the gun back. Because I am handicapped, and because they are right down the street from my home I would have purchased all my shells and equipment from them for years to come. Since they have to lie to the customers to make big purchases I will never darken their doors again. BOLD FACED LYING TO CUSTOMERS IS VERY BAD BUSINESS GUYS. VERY BAD!!! I suggest anyone reading this think twice before purchasing anything there. read more

Wonder why there isn't a YELP site for the Cutler Calibers.?? Just had an incredible experience with the gunsmith there. When asked him is he was able to get a "go" gauge to close on a rifle (which I couldn't) he became defensive and said "If you want to argue go someplace else...this is what I do for a living"...What a dope. Who talks to a customer like that ? Especially since he didn't know who I WAS and that I WAS going to buy a suppressor there. I guess I'll buy it somewhere else..Oh by the way, he sucks at his "living" because rounds shouldn't swell in the chamber and jam the gun even if the gas system is shut low or off (grenade setting) He told me that is normal for a FAL..WHAT ? ...Guess you should find another "profession". BTW I've built over 25 FALs and know a thing or 2 about head spacing and I have a postgraduate doctoral degree so I'm not a dummy like this "gunsmith". He shouldn't be in the customer service business. BTW this wasn't my gun, its a friends I said I'd fix but since theres a return issue, he wanted a "professional" opinion...What he got was a bad opinion. I sure hope it doesn't blow up in his hands...believe me if he's injured, I'll testify against Calibers incompetence !! read more
