This is not who you want to hire for vacation house cleaning. They are not thorough in their cleaning and are very expensive to boot. The first time they cleaned my condo not only did they leave the door unlocked after service, they left it wide open. Unbelievable! read more

We have rental properties that we rent by the week. For a few years things were great. If we had a problem, we could communicate that and it was taken care of. Now the owner has stepped back. Her new manager gets defensive if you have a problem, and makes it your problem. No one inspects the jobs. And they insist that you use there linens, which are cheap and stained. Had issues with some lying, and since the manager is also cleaning and inspecting, there is no point in complaining. Started out strong but can't trust them any longer. read more

Ray hired Calico Cleaning of SH and here is my review: Joyce Joyce 2023-02-24 SO disappointed My husband booked a DEEP CLEANING for $650 as a surprise Valentine's Day gift for me with thoughts of continuing their services in the future. Came home to what I might call a regular, albeit, perfunctory clean. There was actual grime on the kitchen faucet, surfaces were not dusted like inside of crystal cabinet, ledge over sink, top of nightstand. Shower floor had rust stains and dirty grout. The bathroom faucet was grubby. The kitchen sinks had actual food particles in the strainers and baskets. I had asked that the floor of the attached greenhouse be vacuumed and it wasn't touched. I had requested that the antique dining room set be cleaned with Murphy's Oil Soap instead of their bottles of Red and Green cleansers, which I provided along with a rag and bucket and the bottle was never even opened. Two light bulbs in a fixture were broken - one missing, the other on the counter. Simple things like waste baskets were not put back in place. A silk flower arrangement was in total disarray. I am furious, my husband is beyond disappointed and depressed that his big surprise present backfired. read more

I met with Kathy and signed an agreement with her on February 2nd for summer weekly cleaning service and had kept her updated on my schedule continuous. Today, two days prior to my first cleaning of 7, I receive an email from her saying they are short-staffed and cannot do any Saturday cleanings! Very unprofessional and needless to say, undependable! Used calico for some cleaning of our offices for a few months while our normal cleaner had surgery. They did a great job, I felt much more comfortable than I expected. Communication was great and everything was done properly. Our normal person is back and taking care of us again, but if the opportunity ever opens up again I will switch right back permanently. read more

Unfortunately after being a very satisfied customer of a Calico for short term rental management I have to recommend that anyone steer clear of Calico for cleaning services. The owner, Kathy Merchant required that everyone enter into a signed contract with her months ahead of the summer season. That contract included a 15-day notice period to sever service. 5 days prior to our first cleaning we received a bulk email telling us that they are not able to provide service this summer leaving those of us that were reliant on this for our businesses high and dry with little to no time to recover. Adding insult to injury all emails and phone calls have been ignored. I understand that these are trying times for everyone but we would have been willing to work with them toward a solution. Unfortunately that was not afforded to us and now we have to scramble to find a replacement. Bottom line, you can't count on them, and in this business, that's a deal breaker regardless of how well they clean. Highlighting the tone deafness of her actions, she ended her email with "Please don't forget about us and check back with us next year if you would like." Yea, no chance. read more

I want to start by saying that the young lady who cleaned our house, Brittany, was great. But I was really disappointed with the leadership of the company. First they charge by the hour, so your house never changes but if the person cleaning is slow you get penalized for that. Additionally during the pandemic I offered to continue to pay a 2 hour charge every other week to support them. I had to remind them multiple times every other week to bill me. I finally gave up. And here we are post quarantine. I've contacted them twice about when my house will be back on the cleaning schedule and no response. I've hired another local company and already had my first cleaning. I think Calico might be more interested in rental and commercial cleaning than personal residences. read more

This is a terrible company, not reliable, should be strictly avoided. Our rental manager (not us) had hired them to clean and prep our South Haven rental home for the entire summer rental period -- after each renter checked out. Finally, after numerous weekly problems, we banned this company from our home. The final straw that was the breaking point: the Calico employee that had been working in the home was asked why the beds did not have blankets on them. She got "huffy" and walked out! The place was not ready for the next renters, Calico never reached out to us or to our manager to apologize. The next renters checked in with the beds unmade, the kitchen cabinets in disarray, the laundry still in the dryer, etc. This is inexcusable. As far as the general experience with Calico Cleaners: here are just a few examples: 1) Foodstuffs left over from prior tenants left in fridge and cupboards 2) Missing sets of towels, missing blankets, missing glasses, missing tableware, missing kitchen items -- none of which were ever reported to management. Many items are supposed to be sets of 8 -- yet they are now sets of 6 or less! How can this go unreported? 3) Dirty pillowcases on beds ( lipstick and make-up smears!) 4) Beds made without any blankets -- just bottom sheet and top sheet 5) Beds made with wrong-size sheets (and blankets, if installed on occasion): queen sheets on twin beds, twin sheets on queen beds! 6) excessive sand on floors, rugs, etc 7) doors not locked properly: renters can't get in if inner door is locked. Yet, cleaners locked the inner door. 8) Furniture rearranged differently each time, blinds and shades askew 9) many other problems that I won't bother to list here You can do much better than this company for your cleaning/prep needs in the South Haven area. read more

Terrible job. Owner showed up first time then sent a horrible cleaner who did an awful job. Don't use them!
