Great service, amazing food, very quick, comfy place. 10/10 recommend specially for tourists! Cash only btw

    * Cash only * 30-45min line (Saturday) * Mediocre food * 2 stars because it was edible Let's just be honest this is not anywhere near a top restaurant. I don't know how it has such good reviews. Chocolate and banana pancakes were too dense. Crispy chicken pancakes was an absolute disaster. Lettuce, tomato, Caesar dressing on pancakes. The potato dish I got was the best. But still nothing I would order again or come back for.

Perfectly fluffy omelette. Lightly browned on the outside, tender on the inside.

A genuine California style breakfast in Munich was such a surprise. Great, friendly, fast service. Light, bright, breakfast cafe decor. The omelette was great, with fresh ingredients, and attractive presentation. The fruit cup is actual fruit, and not just melon cubes. The latte was rich and dark and piping hot. I can't wait to go back.

Disclaimer: This review is strictly based on the food and not the service! I genuinely need someone to explain to me how this place has such great reviews because I'm so confused. This doesn't make sense. The menu is overpriced for what turned out to be very mediocre food. I ordered the California Crispy Chicken, which was three stacked pancakes with a fried egg, bacon, and a piece of fried chicken, served with French fries. Sounds promising, right? NOPE. The chicken was dry and slightly burnt. The fried egg? Completely fell apart, ummm how does that even happen?! It somehow blended in with the pancake. Neither the chicken nor the egg had a pinch of seasoning. No salt, no flavor, NOTHING! Just dry and bland. The lettuce in between the pancakes was wilted and soggy. Gross! The pancakes... no condiments, no butter, no syrup, just dry stacks. I didn't even bother asking for ketchup for my fries because that's an American thing. As for the drink, I ordered a honey iced macchiato. The honey settled completely at the bottom and wasn't even mixed/blended in. My first sip was like drinking straight honey, overwhelmingly sweet! Also, this place is cash only. They were upfront about it upon arrival. I only came here because we saw people lining up in the morning for brunch. Tourist trap? Overall, I don't recommend this place at all and will not return.

a really good american breakfast spot within Munich. It honestly felt like I was home back in California. Food was amazing and two of us kept asking for more of our coffee drinks. The ambiance was amazing, clean and pleasant. Definitely adding this to my list of places to get food in munich

Wanted to switch it up with something American-style. We had sausage & eggs with French toast, and a smoked salmon cream cheese sandwich. The taste was okay, but the overall experience felt bland--especially if you're from somewhere in Canada or USA, where brunch is taken very seriously. Summary: Works for homesickness, but not especially worth seeking out. Meal type Brunch Price per person €20-30 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Reservation Varies by time / day Noise level Moderate noise

Quick and convenient, this cute eatery names their dishes after California locations, mainly famous beaches. Staff was very accommodating to our tight timeline and packed up our take out pretty efficiently. To note - Cash only! Hermosa Beach Shoestring hash browns with fried onions, mushrooms, cheddar cheese and a couple slices of bacon on top. The hash is wilted and so thin so at first, you might mistake it for sauerkraut. It complements the saltier items on the plate however. Palm Beach Coconut chia pudding with fresh fruit (lingon berries, grapes and apple slices) and coconut slices on top. Quite refreshing and mildly sweet. Manhattan Beach Simple omelette with pan fried vegetables. There's not a lot to this - a smattering of tomato, green peppers and sprouts. Choose wisely. Cappuccino Well made and nicely sized. Overall a solid choice with decent menu items and great friendly staff.

This spot was around the corner from our hotel so proximity and the California themed menu drew us in. Arrived around 9:30 on a Wednesday and we were seated immediately. A smaller/cozy dining area with a mix of regular and high top tables. Decor was Cali themed also (I.e Palm Trees) We scanned our Digital menus to order which had an English option. Ordered a Cafe Crème coffee (bold and strong) and a large Cappuccino. Freshly squeezed Orange/Apple/Ginger juice was delicious. For breakfast, it was Hermosa Beach-went with soft scrambled eggs instead of fried. Hearty given the hash browns and bacon (crispy). An abundance of fried onions on top of those Hash Browns. Redonda Omelette filled with cheese was tasty and the side of hash browns was a generous portion. Service was pleasant and engaging-offering suggestions as well making sure we were pleased with our meal. Seems they don't take credit cards? We were told there are issues with system so cash only when we walked in. (Mentioned by other reviewers). Overall, just the right meal and fuel for a busy day touring Munchen.

Wow! As a native Californian, I was delighted to find an authentic CA experience. The food was excellent! I like my scrambled eggs with cheese scrambled in, which is something Europeans don't generally do. They nailed it. I did not expect a great bagel, but they totally delivered. Super clean. Very friendly staff. Owner is a delight. She goes to CA every year, apparently to reconnect with the vibe.

Everything about our experience was great! We were visiting Munich and had to have breakfast here because we lived in California for years. The owner was so kind and puts so much into her restaurant to make it the best!

Outstanding breakfast spot with very unique menu! First they make their own juice!! I had an orange, apple, lime juice and it was amazing! They also have a full coffee bar with cappuccino, espresso, lattes, etc. The service was great, English speaking staff and very friendly/courteous! But the real star is THE FOOD!! The pancakes are out of this world! I had a savory pancake special of the day and it blew my mind. Check it out! Cash only.

"Love at a distance" on gluten-free focaccia. Delicious!

Friendly wait staff who all spoke English and they were willing to make adjustments to the dishes, such as making things without cheese. Lots of gluten-free and vegan options. I really liked the "love at a distance" (basically avocado toast) that I got, and the gluten-free focaccia was great! Definitely recommend this place! Note that they do not take reservations and it is cash only.

Had some time to kill before check in so I walked down the street to this place. As a once Californian, now living in Texas, it was nice to see the names and think of home! The staff was so kind it felt like home :) the place is cute and easy to spot. It's cash only but there's an ATM across the street. The food is super good! Both my friend and I got this and felt very full after. The combination of veggies and eggs and bread and bacon (add on) were perfect! We also got fresh squeezed juice. So good!

Excellent service. I arrived a bit early and was seated (30 mins before my reservation time). Was promptly asked if they could check my coat for me. My server greeted me right away and took my drink order. I speak English and she was very friendly to me, and gave me an English menu. I had some questions about a specific cocktail, and she was patient with me, and took the time to go ask the bartender if they knew how to make it. She was able to explain very well the menu and answer any questions I had. The food was delicious. I ordered a filet mignon and a side of the seasonal vegetable (asparagus) and truffled mashed potatoes. So delicious! I ate every bit. I did not get a sauce in the steak because as per my server's recommendation, the steak itself has plenty of flavor and does not need a sauce. This is true! Tip when it comes to the al la carte sides (the steak did not come with a side). The sides are very small. Not family style. So don't expect to share them unless you aren't very hungry. You can see them on the background of my steak photo. The steak is about 8 oz. For dessert, the Juicy Piña is a must try! So delicious and so Instagram worthy. Overall, 10/10 recommend this place!!

The table next to us had spotted the mouse and then we quickly saw it running around in our section. For this nice of a restaurant, it was quite a surprise! Another couple came to join our section and the mouse ran up the guys leg! After talking to our hotel about this they said it's very unusual and dirty for a mouse to actually be inside of a restaurant. We lost our appetite and did not finish our meals. When the waitress asked if we would want another glass of wine she would pour it over our already existing glass with wine still inside filling it up to the original amount not giving us a proper pour. Our bottle of water was also charged at 18€. Overall, I do not think it was worth the price. Our bill was expensive for a mouse to be running around our feet the entire dinner!

I'm glad I had the opportunity to dine in this beautiful 150 year old restaurant. My review comes after its closure but it serves to honor the restaurant in hosting my visit. The Building is amazing where the walls and ceilings act as palettes for beautiful painted art. Stepping into the restaurant feel as if one is stepping through a time portal where one feels they are dining 151 years ago which is how old the building is. The ambiance is quite lively and energetic. Although the highlight is the space, the food is also very good. Their pretzels are served warm and fresh with a firm exterior and an interior that melts as it enters one's mouth. The soup is flavorful and healthy with not even a drop of oil pooling to the top. The schnitzel is as tender as it gets. The servers were knowledgeable and fast but it is always so busy that the restaurant should consider increasing staff as to improve customer service.
