01/02/24- Came here to cash a check. I had tried at Local Walmart but they "couldn't" process it. I was helped by Anne to get it cashed. Due to some issues that I had at Walmart, she had to take some extra steps to get authorization. She took the time to make sure it was ok and received the authorization. I think the ladies that work here are very nice they have always acknowledge me when I walk in even if they are helping another customer they let u no that they will with u as soon as they can . I dont really ever wait long of at all before I go in I look online and it shows the least busy times and I try to go in at those times if I can. I've never waited longer then 5 to 7 min, these girls are fast and knowledgeable. I m not sure were the 2 stars come from on there site ratings? However, I do think the reviews should only go back so many years because this is 2026 and there's most likely a hole new staff then there was in 2019 like some of theses reviews are from so it seems to me they should mabye fall off after 5 years to atleast give the place a chance to redeem itself alot can change in a solid five years . Just a thought . But I disagree with the 2 star rating. I've been to antioch and straight got into a fight with the lady behind the counter she was rude trying to keep my check and I finally got it back and she yelled at me about it being fake till I walked out ths door and she was totally wrong I cashed it no problem after I left there. Anyways that placed closed hmm i wonder why ? Pittsburg is slow as shit always a line and I waited 40 min last time six girls working only two helping people once u get up to counter they are nice and fast its just getting up to counter can take a minute. Definitely felt like I was racially profiled here today.I went to cash a payroll check and the lady treated me like I was committing fraud of something.She asked me a million questions including what brings me to the area .She even said that she was calling me and to show her my phone to make sure my number was legit.Not all black people are crooks and scammers.I work full time and was disgusted at the way I was treated.I'd never had this issue before and was made to feel like a criminal.I would not recommend coming here to cash checks or receive any service from these people. read more

Please do not use this place. My wife and I went in there to Western Union money To an International dog breeder who we've used in the past who lives in Serbia. We were paying a stud fee which is a normal thing in the dog breeding world. The Western Union employee said that are transaction was suspicious and refuse to give us service with no explanation other than that period we were upset and we asked for the manager who initialy told her to do that She came to talk to us was as rude as the worker who is originally helping us. They called Western Union on our behalf and told them that what we were doing was suspicious and they would not facilitate the transfer. These women are rude. They spend more time gossiping than they do working, and are ALWAYS chatting or giving dirty looks! They NEVER SMILE! Do they actually have to make you feel like you're beneath them?! I went in to cash a personal check from my aunt and it took half an hour!!!!! The funny thing is that they're ALL young and ALWAYS LOOK DISGUSTED with their customers!!!! I have had at least three appalling experiences with California Check Cashing. Three strikes they're out. The first was when my former land lord issued two $600 checks to me, months apart, as a refund for a security deposit when I moved out of the apartment. The total he owed me was $1,200 but at first he only paid $600, so I did not want to cash it until he paid the rest because as I understood it, if I cashed partial payment that could be interpreted as paid in full. So when he finally coughed up the remaining $600 three months later, I needed the money pretty bad as I don't generally have $1,200 to blow. The check cashier made me stand in front of her teller window for AT LEAST one half hour where apparently she was conducting some sort of fraud investigation into me and my former land lord right in front of my eyes, then informs me she cannot cash these checks. I was livid. If she wanted to conduct a fraud investigation, she should have taken her criminal investigation to the back room instead of doing it right in front of my face. So, I decide not to give them any more business, for many more months. Then I need a pay day loan, and it is the only local service in this area. I take out a pay day loan with a bare minimum of complications. Great. I pay it off when do, then utilize it several more times, receive a larger than expected check, go in to pay them off early, and hope I am done. But I wasn't. I needed another advance, and went in, and AGAIN, the teller (the same one or not I do not know) from before makes me stand in front of her window for A HALF HOUR while she apparently conducted some fraud investigation, when I had been taking advances and repaying on a reliable basis. The do want my interest payments, right? Because if financial service is going to become a gambling operation, they need to the post the odds of the difficulty level I will encounter at the door. If my odds of getting through the process without being accused of being a criminal are 1 in five billion they need to tall me that and in return, I will give them THEIR odds of getting my business...ZERO!!!! The last episode, after which I went absolutely ballistic, was when that creepy fraud investigator teller had been telling me over the course of many months that I could "fill out an application online." I had told her, and the staff REPEATEDLY that I did not want anything other than a simple pay day advance. The online load application was for a loan of $600 or so which I DID NOT WANT. But the fraud investigator was committing fraud against the elderly herself, in my view, when she tried to dupe me into believing the online loan was for a pay day loan. IT IS NOT. The online loan is NOT A PAY DAY LOAN. Nice try lady. How many times did I tell you I did not want that loan? FIVE times, at least. So, not quite understanding what was going on, I go online to fill out the application thinking I am applying for a pay day loan instead of going into the store. What could go wrong? Nothing, right? WRONG! The stupid application gets stuck in a loop and I click a few buttons and unclick them to get it stuck out of the loop. Next thing I know I get an email informing me my loan has been DENIED because I checked off that I am in active military. So I fly down to town on my broom stick, give that fraudster a major piece of my mind, and then I report her to the feds for trying to get elderly, computer-illiterate people to part with their money. read more

The manager Rosa doesn't seem like she cares, they have an I don't care attitude, they are always talking amongst each other and make the customers wait, they have no clue how to run this bussiness!! WORST PLACE EVER....so disappointing. I've been coming here since 2006 probably 5-6 times a year to send money to my younger siblings in Philippines and UAE. Over the years, I noticed that the girls are not very professional but I've learned to just ignore it. Today was an exemption and I will never go back to this place. I went today 1/ 15/19 at about 4 pm and there were no costumer at all. There were 3 girls at the window, 1 at the back on a desk. The first girl was talking to the lady behind her, glance at me and didn't say a word and then opened her drawer and started counting chains. Second girl ( middle) was In the middle of counting large amounts of bills which I totally understand probably didn't want to be distracted. Third girl was talking to the other girls, the a minute later grab the phone and dialed. I stood there for 5 minutes, looking for a sign that maybe they can't be distracted. No "hello" "hi" we'll be with you in just a few minutes, they saw me and acted like I wasn't there at all. So I left and went to Safeway. At Safeway, there were 2 people in front of me and the worker immediately acknowledge me. She was very professional. I would rather stand in line and wait but treated well than go back to that place again. I was going to call and talk to the manager but I think the manager was one of those girls. read more

They have the worst service of check cashing places. I went here the other day to get a check advance. The lady's said that they need a check from me before i can get an advance( when I been to others check chasing places they never asked for a check they just needed my back info and they take it out auto out of my account the day i get paid) I told the lady's I don't use checks. She said sorry but for us to give you and advance we need a check. So I went to my bank to get a check for I can get the advance. The lady said you can came back on the day you get paid to give us the money. I told the Lady i don't live in Tracy, I live more then an hour away, not going to come here just to give you the money when you have the check i gave you and my bank info. The lady said okay Ill note that in your account to cash your check. Now they are calling me telling me that my payment is pass due when I told them in the first place to cash the check b/c I live to far away. How can you become pass due when you tell them in the first place you don't live in the same city. I never had a check chasing place tell me that I'm pass due, all the other places have taken the money out of my account the same day I get paid. NEVER GOING TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN. I WISH I CAN GIVE THEN 0 STARS. read more
