Panel not flush in closet island
    Lily B.

Update 7/27: No update. No one reached out or responded to my email or text. Business more concerned about responding in public and defending image than actually solving problems. Honest mistakes happen. No big issue. Lack of accountability is deafening. Original review 7/26 (shortened to comply with review length): Designs were good but implementation and client service leave much to be desired. We hired them for 5 areas in our home and it was a 3-day installation. Multiple issues arose that could've been avoided. One panel in a closet island was not placed correctly and as a result, is not flush with the rest of the island, with a corner sticking out. This should've been an easy mistake to catch, had any of the installers done a quick quality check of the piece after it was competed. Apparently they were too flustered as this piece was completed on the very last day and they were supposed to depart at 2:30pm every day, but had to stay until close to 3pm on the last day (and it was a Friday). Apparently no one bothered to do a necessary quality check. On our media center wall, the installers made a mistake and originally tried to install a floating shelf on a spot that was lower than where it should've been. Of course, they did have all the designs with precise dimensions so this should've never happened. This mistake left a very visible and ugly mark that's unfortunately centered right above the TV. Remarkably, when we asked about this and they told us what'd happened, and even one week later now, not a single person from the company ever apologized or showed any vestige of accountability. We do live in a two-story walk-up and they had to carry long panels up the stairs. Unfortunately they scratched the wall by the stairs at one point. Then, they scratched paint in two small areas at the bottom of the closet they installed. Our installation was Wednesday through Friday. The Friday afternoon prior I called the designer for some questions and was then informed a few doors in our project wouldn't arrive on time so they'd need to come back at a later date to put those on. Apparently I was "on her list of people to call" that day so I would be informed. Shall we say that would've been... quite a funny coincidence? If I hadn't called myself probably they wouldn't have bothered to inform me and we would've had the even more last minute nasty surprise that the entirety of our project would be delayed indefinitely. We sourced handles and knobs ourselves and had to drop them off at their office beforehand. They demanded that we drop them off 2 months prior to the installation date because it was critical to measure them for the glass doors. Come to find out, more than 2 months later and the doors are nowhere near being ready. It made zero sense to begin with since all the dimensions of the handles are clearly spelt out on the product's page online. Secondly, the installers gave us back those very handles and they were never even unpacked. So they made us go through the trouble of driving an hour to their office to drop those off 2 months in advance for no apparent reason. One thing about dropping off parts with them: please make sure they do a count with you in person and get it recorded. I'm positive they lost one of our handles. I bought everything in one go for the first batch from Home Depot and still have the receipt so I know I'm not crazy. When the order was delivered to our home we made sure everything in the order was there, then literally put them all in a bag and drove to their office with it, so there's no way a 16" handle could've gone missing before it got there. It's a big piece and not easy to lose. We dropped off 2 batches of parts with them and both times the person just took the bag without looking at the contents before putting it in the back. If they say something is missing later on, you'd have no proof. Another strange thing was they told us we were missing one knob and just needed to have it ready on installation date. So we did. However, all 3 days went by and the installers never asked for the knob. We assumed they'd just ask us for it when needed. But the days came and went and no one said a thing. We realized this after they left, and somehow they managed to complete all the pieces without it? Very strange. It's been 11 days since I found out - for myself, not that I was reached out to and informed - that the doors would be delayed. No one has contacted us to give an update for a date. It's been nearly a week since the media wall mistake transpired. No one proactively acknowledged the mistake, let alone apologized or showed any signs of accountability and goodwill to make it right. Now we have a glaring eyesore right above the TV that's impossible not to look at. On the contrary, they were very quick and efficient to request 90% of total payment immediately after the *incomplete* installation.

We used California Closets for our son's nursery and were very happy. Also happy with the new foyer install - minus the one drawer that was designed to open into the hooks, according to designer's measurements; that the installer didn't notice when he installed it (we caught the error). However, we are sorely disappointed in the product delivery for the largest install of a bedroom (a big boy room with two closets). We chose Adriatic Mist, which looked gray on the sample. Unfortunately, it's appearance is beige in the room - which is painted a pure gray. Unfortunately, neither we nor the designer thought to view the sample in the actual room. I wrongly assumed gray would be gray and trusted my designer. We were told nothing can be done. Our designer talked to David, who spoke to Julie, and said it was customer error. That we own the product and if we don't want it installed then we can "have it piled up in a corner in our garage." And we can "pay for a new one." That "no one else has ever complained about this in 20 years" so we must be wrong. There is zero recourse for an unhappy (repeat) customer. We spent almost $3,000 on custom closets and our only option is to junk it; or live with it. Customer satisfaction is not guaranteed. Lesson learned. The install was a bit trying, as well. They sent one guy (very nice guy) for three closets on two floors. Installation took roughly seven hours. On a Saturday. They couldn't send two guys? We also had damage to our freshly painted walls and closets. And pencil marks left behind on the fresh paint. They have offered to repair or reimburse, which we will do, but that's still more time spent on this. Stick with basic white, use Elfa, or hire a carpenter if you want to color match with satisfaction. Avoid this branch of California Closets if you want to be treated respectfully should you voice concerns. And if you expect any effort to be made to make sure you're happy with your product - definitely go elsewhere. I wish this review could have been different since I do think our designs are smart and helpful. And we had two more closets to do next, which also had strong designs. But this was a trying experience, at best. A bit combative. And so expensive.

You have one of the BEST employees I've ever had the pleasure of working with! I would dub myself a shopaholic. I have shopped all over the world and online. I am a true lover of clothing and shoes and wanted a space to house my favorite items. I have NEVER had such an exceptional customer service and sales experience before! First, the owner of the New Jersey store contacted me very promptly and connected me with Donna Infantolino for my design consult. Donna called me immediately after I hung up the phone with her boss and had my custom Martha Stewart closet designed within an hour of my initial call! She listened to all of my ideas and helped me make the best use of our space in our new home. Every single thing I wanted to accomplish, she made it happen. I cannot express how nice it was to have such an expert helping guide us through the design process. The closet is my favorite room in the house! It is functional and GORGEOUS! Every time I walk into the space I smile! I've never seen a prettier closet before to be honest! Donna was an absolute joy to work with! Any hiccups that came up, she took care of them and made us feel completely taken care of! She answered her emails, phone calls and texts promptly and kindly. She was very open and kept us updated on everything! Like I said, I've NEVER worked with someone as professional, kind, courteous, efficient, AND funny! I've been referring her to all of my friends (and even strangers) looking to upgrade their closets. I can't wait to reach out to her for the next space we design! We will highly recommend Donna and California Closets to anyone asking our opinions! We haven't completely organized our closet just yet and are waiting for a few more pieces to complete the space, but here are a couple of photos to visualize the magical space Donna helped us to create!

It's a pleasure to work with Linda and her team. Linda is very experienced and professional. She designed my closet with precision and it turned out to be exactly what I wanted! And the installation process was very smooth as well. I will definitely choose California Closets again in the future.

We worked with Jeff Rambaldi who took such good care of us from start to finish! He helped us find the right cabinets for the pantry and island and helped us design a coffee nook. We wanted a pull out drawer microwave and he got us the specs for the one we wanted to ensure the measurements were exact. Everything beautifully fit in, including the updated stunning hardware included in the set. Jeff even threw in extra handles for all our existing cabinets so we could have continuity to tie them together and we couldn't be any more pleased with how it all came out! We still need to update the backsplash but it turned out into a gorgeous, upgraded space so far!

I'm amazed it's not surrounded by angry villagers with pitchforks and torches, it took them three months to get my cabinet order straightened out and fix their very odd measurement mistakes, and I had nothing but arguments all the way despite the supposed "professional" measurement and design services they sold me on. Part of being a professional is taking responsibility for your own mistakes. Eventually they remade those cabinets but they made sure to take as long as possible, because they were so angry that they had to absorb the cost as per their $250 measurement fee. The resulting kitchen is slapdash and sloppy, and their attitude is "but we gave you a discount". That discount was nothing compared to the cost overruns their delays cost us, not to mention months of no working kitchen. I have to live with a slapdash kitchen; I have to live with my poor choice of cabinet suppliers but I'd advise any friend of mine to steer way clear of this ridiculous klown kar posse. Professional? You'd be better off with Home Depot or even a bunch of 2"x4"s and a hand saw. Look elsewhere if you value your budget and your sanity.

He showed us the different types and styles of cabinets and how they would fit and look in our kitchen. He did a great job of explaining the benefits and limitations of the different styles and how that would affect what options we'd be able to have. Once we decided on what we wanted, the cabinets were ordered and a delivery and installation date were set.  The head installer, Eddie, came with his installation crew. They really knew what they were doing and had no problem working through any of the problems you inevitably encounter when doing this kind of work. I was really impressed with how careful they were with the new cabinets. They really treated everything with care. I've seen other people spend a lot of money only to end up with scuffed up cabinets because the installers weren't careful. Once complete, they left the kitchen clean. They thoroughly vacuumed the area, not leaving a mess behind. From start to finish, everyone we dealt with was pleasant and professional. They met the expectations that they set. They were able to confidently deal with any speed bumps that arose, and they left us with a great finished product. I can't recommend them highly enough!

I had originally designed two closets using the online tool. I asked to speak with a designer, and she called that night. She was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. She liked the design of my simpler closet but had a lot of very good suggestions for my wife's walk-in. I took all of her suggestions (and I'm glad I did). The closets are for a townhome that I just bought but had not even moved in yet. I needed them to delay the shipment of the product until a certain day. She took care of that, and it arrived just when I wanted. I received 30 --- yes, 30 --- boxes ranging from small to very large. Every box is labeled with what parts are in it and, importantly for me, which closet the parts are for. Every box was amazingly well-secured, and the strengthened cardboard packing/protection did its job. Long story short (ha!!): I prepped both closets --- took down the old hardware, spackled the walls, sanded the walls, and painted the walls. Then I took about 8hrs to build the simple closet and about 12hrs to build the walk-in closet. I was *never* frustrated or led astray by the amazingly clear, well-illustrated, and well-organized instruction manuals (that are personalized for each individual closet). The resulting closets were beyond my hopes for what they might come out to be. I feel a sense of accomplishment and I felt like EasyClosets was an amazingly supportive and competent partner in the whole process. To be clear, if you get frustrated by the complexity of putting together IKEA furniture, or if you have a hard time sticking with a project for more than a couple of hours, then you should go a different route. However, if you think you are up to it, then you will not be let down by the pros at EasyCloset. Great price, great service, great product. Thanks. I'm glad I found you.

After reading the reviews, I figured this would be a good place to comparison shop. Best decision I could have made!!! From the moment I walked in, I knew this was an amazing business. Everyone was super friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Another very important point for me was that there was absolutely no sales pressure. That's a HUGE plus! Long story short, I had received a quote for over $46,000.00 for the cabinets I wanted. This quote did not include any extras like pull out tray/drawers, lazy susans, utensil cabinets next to stove, etc. The price I ended up paying for all of the same cabinets from the original quote from the other guy plus additional cabinets, special pieces, drawer pulls, lazy susan/utensil drawer/pull out trays/drawers, etc. was just under $21,000.00!!! This price was for the exact same manufacturer (Fabuwood) and same exact color as quoted by the other guy...That's a $25,000.00 difference! (If my actual cost seems like a lot please note I got an insane amount of cabinets/pantries, etc.) Also, I don't know how I was so fortunate as to work extensively with Furkhan, but he was incredible throughout the entire renovation process! Despite the fact that I knew what I wanted for our renovations, I knew nothing about the actual process/details. Furkhan was pretty much available 24/7 and spent an endless amount of time with me going over every detail, making sure I didn't miss anything I might need, and answering my never ending questions. He took the time to learn exactly what I wanted and went above and beyond to ensure the desired results! He also came up with ideas that seemed minor but ultimately made the difference between me really liking my kitchen to absolutely loving it!!! (I still just look at the kitchen when I walk in and smile at the results). Another huge plus was that he worked seamlessly with my contractor and everyone else involved in the project (plumber, appliance place, etc.) to ensure the smooth flow of every aspect of the project. Even when I had a small problem with an outside vendor, he took care of it for me and made sure it was resolved immediately. He kept on top of everything going on and kept me updated accordingly. I cannot possibly thank Art of Kitchen Tile & Bath enough for all their hard work. Everyone who has walked into our house cannot stop talking about how beautiful it is and about the quality of the work! And I can never thank Furkhan enough for his insights and suggestions and handling the project with such professionalism as well as following up on every detail to ensure the incredible results we achieved!
