The knowledge of the products, the relationships with the vendors, they pure joy of conversations, Michaels was all mine for an afternoon and what a home it created!! He used the CAD system to make sure everything fit properly, and to help visualize creative ideas. My home is truly beautiful empty, I was afraid nothing could add to it's beauty, but somehow, White House Designs made it happen for me. In April of this year (2023), I purchased a table from White House in Wayne New Jersey. It was delivered in June and there were no issues with the delivery and everything was fine. Shortly after getting the table, I placed a couple of plastic bottles on it. Later, I noticed scratches where I had placed the bottles (see attached photo). I thought the scratches might just be marks on the surface and tried to rub them out. I used a plastic scrubber and only made matters worse. I contacted the sales rep at White House Furniture and their response was basically, "oh, well." They would do nothing to help me repair the damage aside from giving me the name of a refinisher. This is a DINING ROOM TABLE but now I am now afraid to put anything on it because it scratches so easily. This table, plus delivery cost me almost $2,000 and I am stuck with a table that needs to be covered to be used. I might as well have gone to a Bob's furniture store and purchased a cheap one if it is going to be covered all the time. I like working with the smaller vendors but will not support vendors who do not stand behind their products. Avoid these people. read more

Ordered window treatments after moving into the area based on a previous positive experience with Hunter Douglas elsewhere. Would recommend avoiding this specific location. It took around a full year to receive and have the products installed. The installation technician had to come out 4 times because each time there were items missing that precluded him from finishing the job. When contacting the store about these issues they either were non-responsive or sometimes provided bizarre and unprofessional responses including suggesting I go to Target to see if they would have any of the missing hardware. Another time it was suggested I pick up the products from their internal workroom to expedite the process. Ultimately this was a very frustrating and expensive experience in which the service provided was completely unacceptable. read more

Loving our bedroom set and counter stools. We can't wait for the living room set to complete our new home. From the beginning of the shopping process after Covid openings were permitted, Karen, the owner gave personalized attention. Sanitizing station at the front door and all employees wearing masks made us feel totally safe doing in store shopping. Karen has the patience of a saint; helping to narrow down the selections for our new home. From ordering to follow up on wait times and delivery, Karen kept us apprised every step of the way. We can't wait for our living room set and window treatments to arrive so our new home will be complete. I can't recommend White House Living enough. read more

SOFA IS POORLY PERFORMING; SALES STAFF WAS NICE - I bought a King Hickory sofa about 2 years ago. And, immediately I noticed the cushions were not cut properly. One whole section of the sofa was sent back for repair, and the sales people at the store we very helpful in that regard. But, when the sofa came back to me, it still wasn't cut right. There's a huge gap between the cushions and there's a huge gap at the back of the cushions. And, oddly, because it is the lounge cushion, it also over hangs in the front. It was just poorly manufactured to begin with. So, even though the sales folks are good, you might want to shop elsewhere if you're looking for a sofa to use everyday and want one that will stand the test of time. read more

Overpriced , good quality but slightly Mediterranean in style. Pretty competent designers but stay away from doing any upholstery remodels. They outsource the upholstery work and greatly markup their cost for this service. Plus they nickel and dime on things like $300 delivery charges to bring the finished goods to the home. So if you are careful they are ok for select new furniture but stay far away for curtains, shaded and upholstery. read more

"Let's ask Sue" is our new mantra for all of our decorating needs. I'm being total honest. We recently went shopping for new master bedroom furniture and décor and my wife and I got totally overwhelmed with the myriad of choices available. Dazed and confused from a long day of wondering around all the big box stores and being stalked, we finally stopped in White House Living. We walked into an amazing showroom that had unique pieces throughout. We stopped in the doorway not knowing if we should go inside (and be overwhelmed, again) or run! Then Sue greeted us. Having told her about our day, she reassuringly sat us at her desk and talked to us, not at us. She asked about style, color, functionality, and budget. Her repour eased and focused us. With her many years of design experience, Sue is very efficient in her approach to the process. Her advice and guidance were invaluable. She met with us for the afternoon and helped select furniture and accessories for our bedroom. "Let's call Sue" We had such a pleasant experience we decided to meet with Sue for our living room and dining room remodel. We built-up such a nice relationship with Sue that this time went smoothly. We had paint color anxiety and Sue said: "well you have a beautiful grey in your bedroom, how about this color? It's called Griege." Perfect match to our new floor. On to the furniture. Easy-peasy! All the designers at White House Living are pleasant and approachable. You can tell they truly love designing. As they walked by they would stop and discuss our selections and give their advice and speak honestly. "Shopping" at WHL made us feel like part of a design team that collaborated to make our decisions easy. No more big box stores for us. Veronica was our designer for our home renovation, and we are extremely pleased with the process and results. We started out with a family room and we were so happy with her plans that we expanded to include the dining room, living room, and master bedroom. She designed our home down to the last detail, including furniture, roller shades (Hunter Douglas), artwork, lamps, sculptures, lighting, and even offered suggestions on things like paint color and carpet. This resulted in a custom, integrated, and unique look to our home - everything looks like it was designed just for us. For example, when we couldn't find a dining room buffet to meet our needs, Veronica had a vendor make one for us to our design specifications. And most of what we purchased was American made, which was important to us. We found that Veronica had an uncanny ability to understand our style preferences and propose designs that we loved. She was committed to our complete satisfaction, and she and White House Living stood behind every product they delivered -- in the event something was not to our satisfaction, they made it right. In terms of her working style, Veronica is highly professional and communicative. All information regarding pricing, timelines, quality, dimensions, color, etc. was clearly communicated to our satisfaction. At our design meetings, Veronica was always prepared and focused on accomplishing our goals for that meeting. Finally, she was very accommodating to our pace of work (some decisions we needed more time to make, and others we made quickly and needed items ordered and delivered within a tight time frame given construction timelines).
