The only option suggested could trigger a cash advance fee. After being left sitting for 15 minutes while she "checked with a manager," I walked out. Because of that, you may find yourself circling the lot a few times waiting for someone to pull out. If you're coming during peak hours, just prepare for that. I usually stop by when I'm already in the area running errands and just need to get in and out. For quick transactions, deposits, or basic banking needs, it works perfectly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Now let me say this -- the staff here are super sweet and very friendly. They really do try to take care of customers in a prompt and professional manner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've never had to handle any major financial matters here, but for everyday banking needs, they've been solid. They also have an ATM outside and a drive-through option, which is convenient if you don't feel like going inside or you're short on time. Overall, California Coast Credit Union is a great credit union with multiple locations throughout San Diego County, plus access to shared branch locations in certain areas. That flexibility is a big win for me because I can bank pretty much anywhere I am in the city. If you're on the fence about joining California Coast, don't be. If you're looking to establish checking, savings, or just want a reliable credit union with accessibility around town, they're definitely worth giving a try. She has been working since she was 15 now at 17 1/2 you can not pay for nothing more than $200 if you buy something thats $500 being under 18 your card will get declined no matter if you had $2000 in your account! When I first opened my account here they are concerned at my complete lack of credit, I explained I had been incarcerated for a while there and all that nonsense. I opened a savings account with two separate CD's. I sat down with a banker called Carlos and informed him that the safety and privacy of myself and my monies where the number one concern to me with any companies I do business with. I informed him that I only wanted sent to me by mail what is legally required by the law & nothing else. I even went into detail with him No debit card, marketing or anything else. These items I listed are not legally required. What do you know, I receive mail from him directly & and few days later a debit card! I also informed him that if I did I would take my monies out of the bank. When I first received the personal mail from him (not yet the debit card) I contacted the bank manager and discussed it with her. I also asked her about the debit card and she informed me that since I opened up a savings account and not a checking account I wouldn't receive a debit card. Guess what I just received today? Yes you got it a debit card. I just got off the phone with the MGR. and she looked into it and found that the banker Carlos opened up a checking account without my knowledge or permission and that is the reason I received the debit card. I'm not talking about a small amount of money he put at risk here as it was over $200,000.00. I WILL BE CLOSING MY ACCOUNTS WITH THEM ASAP!! read more

The service at this branch is phenomenal. My fiancé and I had planned to open a joint account at Chase Bank but their policies and general attitude was not very service oriented. So we looked into California Coast Credit Union due to their lower fees and proximity to our home. The difference between this Credit Union and Chase was like night and day. Tamra helped me and my fiancé set up the joint account. She provided us information on a non profit business account my fiancé needed to set up, and assisted me with some issues related to cashing US Savings Bonds; she cashed the one she could and arranged for someone at another branch to contact me regarding certification of signatures. Tamra went the extra mile and we are now seriously considering moving all of our personal and business accounts to this Credit Union due to their amazing customer service. I am done... I started with this credit union when it was called "Teachers Credit Union" in 1994. I loved it. They were welcoming and it felt like a great honor and privilege to be a member. I recommended many people to join and was so happy with them for years. With that said, the past few years have been a struggle. You are no longer a member, your once again a number, like a bank. I will say that the branches are fine, but this is for the main call center and corporate offices at 9201 Spectrum Center Blvd #300, San Diego, CA 92123. They have simply drove this company into the ground and have made so many bad choices that I am forced to stop doing business with them. In particular, the Fraud Department is managed by Kim Reeves and she has no backbone and is spite full. If you challenge her and ask for her manager she will freeze your account and all your mobile access and ATM access. They will tell you that there is a NSF check on your account although having access to the issuing banks records you can see that they were paid. She is condescending and I truly hope that Gary Atkinson, the Board of Directors, will look into her actions. Quite frankly, they do not care nowadays that you will leave their "Bank". No more, they are no longer concerned about the members, they are "to big to fail". I feel bad for the branch employee's and managers as they do have a genuine concern for your financial health & customer satisfaction along with the few front line customer service rep's on the help line. I urge you to look into an alternative choice especially if you are Military or DOD. USAA and Navy Federal Credit Union have some great programs and options. 23 years, Kim Reeves. I had an issue with a deposit yesterday and with my account. I initially got Veronica who was not helpful at all. I asked for a supervisor and got Vicki. She was kind and helpful. My initial issue had me so upset, I left work and went to the branch in La Mesa. Tamra was the rep who helped me. I was crying and she was so helpful and calmed me down. I met with her twice today and she took the time to show me solutions to some of my account issues. Each time, I was there for over 30 minutes and I had her undivided attention. I had a fairly decent standing with california coast credit union and they seemed like they wanted to help as much as possible. With covid and other factors I had fallen delinquent on my checking account. At this point they naturally closed my checking account and sent it to collections. That is not where I had a problem with them. My savings account remained open and when I was able financially, I contacted them through their website and they called me, at which time I explained the situation and that I wished to pay waist was owed and bring my account current. The gentleman kindly explained that if I were to come in and deposit the check I was expecting into my savings account and they could bring my account current, then I could apply to reopen the account. As a good faith gesture I deposited some of what was owed. I went into the branch where I opened my account check In hand and at that point they gave me the run around. Apparently I can only bring my account current with cash, Can't deposit the check into savings. Can't cash the check and then deposit the cash. I would have to go cash the check and return with cash and then maybe I could reopen the account. Another classic case of working harder to not work than to just do what the gentleman explained to me was easily possible. I requested to transfer what was in savings to credit toward what was owed and now even more hassle. So now that I want to close out the account I have to go through the collection agency which could take 30 days then I can come pay the remainder of what was owed with fees. And the money in savings Can't be credited until I pay those fees. WOW! Seems a whole lot more complicated than need be. Final note, with what was in savings, $159.08 the difference in what was owed was $55 and some change. The check I came with to deposit, from AAA, was $2700. Does customer service not exist anywhere?!!! If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I was making a cash deposit late this morning on a walk up atm machine at your San Diego La Mesa location. Once I inserted my deposit the machine froze then restarted leaving no trace of the money I had just deposited. The general manager Janette comes out to later refer me to Tamra. Tamra was incredibly helpful, reassuring, and empathetic. Because of her I had a good experience today. In contrast Janette didn't say not one thing to me that was helpful in fact the words that came out of her mouth were unhelpful verging on disrespectful. This is an issue for me not because my feelings were hurt; her tone left me feeling like I couldn't trust that the issue would be resolved properly. That's not the way I want to feel about my local bank. I'm sure she's a decent manager but she has no business communicating with customers. read more

I had a car loan with CCCU from 2014-2019 and they gave me an amazing rate at the time. I paid that loan off and decided to purchase another car. So, I went back to them first and they were offering great rates (especially when you use their free car buying service). But the part I was really happy about was my customer service experience with Catalina. With everything going on, she took the time to address my needs in a professional way with expert knowledge. She was able to complete what I needed very quickly (which was different than my online contact who was delegated to emergency loans and sort of got distracted) My experiences with this branch have always been good, but after this last experience, they have a customer for life. read more

This place is old and has a bad smell. Their financial dept is the worse. They claim to want to help City Workers but unless you have collateral they don't care to assist. They also have great communication service. They ask you many questions and want responses but they never want to explain why and how to get the loan approved. It's a useless banl thay I will not refer to people and will not continue our business. We have 790 fico scores and they still make it difficult to get a small loan or credit card. All under the age of 5! She gave them coloring books! Was never impatient or short. She completed my application process with professionalism and class! After trying to make a purchase and having my card declined I had to call into customer service. I was told that my card had be deactivated because of fraudulent activity. When I questioned when/where the fraud occcured they would not tell me. They said a new card would need to be issued and I would have to keep an eye on my account for any future charges that were not made by me. The next day, I go into the La Mesa branch and there is a line of 30 people getting new cards for the same reason. They obviously had some sort of breach with their system or atms. I refuse to do business with a bank that isn't honest with their customers and who expects you to continue to deposit money meanwhile they can't seem to keep their systems secure. read more
