I had called about three or four different locksmiths before I luckily found Alex. I accidentally locked myself out of my apartment when I was rushing out the door with my dog and I got distracted. I wasn't able to get a hold of my landlord so I was a little panicked because it was about 5:30 on a Friday evening but Alex picked up got my address and quoted me a time and then followed up when he was on his way and he probably came a little bit earlier than I anticipated. He said he ordered a part for me and then 5 different times I called and he said he was busy on a client and would get back to me in a couple hours. Never once did he ever call back. I accidentally locked myself out in January and found this company on yelp. The guy came and worked on the door for over an hour. I was freezing cold outside and Alex ended up having to drill through the doorknob and still charged $80! And he said because he couldn't pick the lock, he'll install new doorknobs for me for free. Well, the landlord wants the keys to all match or get copies of the new keys. Instead, he made excuses about how the doorknobs were too close to the door jam and etc... and ended up not installing the new doorknob nor making up for the damage he did after charging the full price for not being able to pick the lock successfully... I'm pretty upset. He gave me attitude and I never spoke to him again. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this...Let me know. I only came across this company again because we are locked out again...but don't think I'll call him... --------------------- Replying to the owner's comment: No you did not! You did NOT come to my home and install the new lock! I had a handyman friend come do it. And I did not threaten. Alex, the owner was very nice, easy to talk to and knowledgeable. My elderly parents car key was stuck in the driver's door lock of their older BMW X3 and they were worried. My dad didn't who to call to fix it so they were planning to bring it to shop which will probably charge them and arm and a leg. I went to Yelp to see if I could call a locksmith and this was the first place that popped up when I searched for car/ automotive locksmith. I called and Alex answered. I briefly explained the issue and Alex said, " that's a common issue with older BMWs". It never happened to my Toyotas or Lexuses. Anyway, Alex was confident he could fix the problem. Here's the clincher the price he quoted was reasonable. I wanted to make sure, so I called another locksmith. After explaining the issue, the other guy said he can't fix it but he knew someone that could. Ok so who? The other locksmith said call California locksmith!!! I called the gentlemen to see if he could provide me with a quote and he did. He answered right away and confirmed the copy of the key that I needed and within ten minutes he arrived at my house. He inspected my key and realized I had the wrong one, he had a spare fob and completed the copy of the key without any issues. I called the next day and he told me He would call the distributor.. I called California Locksmith Company ten days ago and was told by Alex they could make me a replacement 1992 Lexus LS 400 key in a few hours. I provided my VIN and within an hour I was told they were en route to bring me my key. I did not receive contact for 24 hours after this so I called again and I just got the company's full voicemail. A week ago I did get in touch with another person who said Alex was not working that day, and asked to put me on hold while he contacted him. While I was on hold the line disconnected and since then the company has not responded to any of my phone calls. I waited until today to go with another company because I know it does cost money to make keys and I did not want to put this company out. I think it is very irresponsible for any company to waste a customer's time like this, and I would not recommend anyone try them if they can help it.
