Fast, simple, and friendly. They arrived 20 minutes after I called them. Very impressive. First time calling a locksmith. We accidentally locked a bedroom door from the inside. Looked on Yelp for a Long Beach locksmith and GoKey was one of the first to pop up. Matt answered the phone right away. I quickly explained the situation, asked for a quote and time frame. He said to text him the address and someone will come in 15 or 20 minutes. His co-worker, Alex, called when he arrived right on schedule. We recently moved to LB and and our house key was badly bent and needed to be copied. I called GoKey and spoke to the owner, he was friendly and welcoming and informed me to head over to his current location and someone would help me with copies of my key. We arrived and spoke to one of his employees (Jordan)? and he first looked at my key and said he probably wouldn't be able to copy a bent key. I politely asked if he could try. He was also friendly and fixed the key and then made a few copies. I thought the service and most importantly the communication was excellent. They came out quickly. I had broken a key off in the shops door and the door would not close. What I wanted was the old lock as decoration and a new lock installed into the same door. There was one functioning lock in the door. I wanted a second deadbolt to replace the one that was broken. I handed the tech the new lock to replace the old one that was broken. No matter how I tried to explain it, the tech could not understand what I wanted 2 deadbolt in the same door... THAT DID NOT MATTER. The tech pulled the broken lock out. He replaced the functioning lock with the new lock. There was nothing wrong with the functioning lock. He then processed to re-key the tumblers in the old lock ( now just decoration) as if the lock needed a key. He spent hour. They never gave me an estimate. $220.00 later I am just about in the same place I started. Very unhappy store front owner. So I am giving a 2 star rating because they came out quickly. But I could have pulled the broken lock out myself for free. read more

If you need quick and hell of fast service call them. I just moved in my place and my crusty deadbolt front door locked on it's on without a key. I went outside to allow the utility rep in and the dam lock locked on its own. Yep it was past it's life expectancy. I made the call and someone was on their way within 15min and I was back in my place in less than 30min. My grimmy landlord tried to say I locked myself out. Unfortunately, they allow their after hours staff to do as they please with very little professional communication. The dispatcher answered the phone with "hello", then asked me to contact the driver myself. I was promised a 15 minute ETA from the dispatcher which turned into waiting and calling for an hour and a half. The driver wouldn't answer until called multiple times in a row, after which he proceeded to tell me that he knew the building and my manager would let me in (though this is the locksmith listed in the Security procedures for locked out residents). You cannot rely on their ETA, their professionalism, or their services. Call anyone else. read more

My "Senior" friend, who hired this GoKey Locksmith, wanted to make sure this Locksmith's encounter is noted and shared as a warning to really consider. I anticipated sincerity and truthfulness (not received) from "a veteran and owner of a business" that promotes quality with his veteran's message of trust and transparency. Be very careful in his pricing tactics, make sure the total cost is in writing, not just casually stated with slight increases, (and when you get home) "look out" for the final E-mail receipt (after he enter his total on his cell phone with your credit card inserted). He does not mention or provide a hard copy of his total cost before starting the job or stating any of his advertised offers. Also, his work was not treated in a complete and caring manner. I wanted to contribute work to a veteran, but he disappointed me with his work ethic and his entire process. I will never use his business services again. read more

This past 4th of July was a total nightmare, dealing with this company. We called this place because my daughter was locked out of her place at about 11:00pm. The female dispatcher sent out a guy Alex. Well, Alex quoted a price of $200.00 to unlock both door and change the locks of one door. My daughter asks if he had the replacement lock and Alex said, no, that he would need to come back tomorrow with replacements. At that point she asks him to just get her inside, how much would that be? He says $100, she says ok and let's Alex know that she'd be running to the bank really quick, 10-15 minutes. Alex agreed, she leaves and upon returning, Alex is gone. No note! No call from dispatch! Then, she calls Alex's cell and there's no answer! She call dispatch, they have no clue of what's going on. They "SUPPOSEDLY" can't reach Alex either. The female dispatcher tell us to give her a few minutes and she'd try to get us another technician out. We waited 15 minutes and called back, this lady now tells us, there are no other techs available and there's nothing that they can do for us. Remind you, Alex has drilled holes in the locks abandoning the job. I told the dispatcher that GOKEY would be pitching in on this bill due to starting the job, not finishing it. I told her we would be sending their company the bill and she said, ok. Be sure to send us the photos of what was done. I said, no problem. I called them the next morning to forward the bill to them that was generated by Long Beach Locksmith "Nick". But they did not answer and have not answered MY NUMBER. Moving forward, we called LONG BEACH LOCKSMITH AT 562.387.8576, a very PROFESSIONAL guy arrived and he was shocked at the fact we were left hanging like this. He begin picking and twisting at the lock and had the door open in about 2 minutes flat. I had a set of extra locks, he took those and replaced them aaaaand reset them in about 20 minutes. We were amazed at how fast and precise this guy was. He told us that he felt bad that we were done like this and he gave us an amazing price of $125.00. Nick over at LONG BEACH LOCKSMITH IS THE BEST.
