Elite Pup Training - Funtime on the Hill X 2

I cannot begin to explain the amount of relief from anxiety training my dogs with Ricky has brought me. No amount of therapy could touch how I felt previously. I have learned patience, clear communication (with my dogs), and appreciation of the minds ability to change after years and years of ingrained unwanted behaviors. Ricky does not sell a one size fits all package - each of my dogs are VERY different, and while the fundamental approaches and concepts in training are the same - the method and timing in which we applied and reinforced these were vastly different. Ricky is able to connect with two leggers and four leggers alike - he gives clear feedback to dogs and human and uses metaphors that we humans understand (driving the speed limit and getting speeding tickets haha) on how the concepts of his approach effects dog behavior. I couldn't be happier. I am humble and I know I need to continue management (and one of my dogs I am holding to higher standard so we are going to continue our own sessions based on what I have learned) but my dogs are completely different. I'm getting complimented by family, friends, and people on walks - impressed with how well behaved my dogs are. I smile and tell them "thank you it's lots of continued hard work" and move along. This morning in particular we walked during trash pick up, had lots of people distractions, and both dogs stayed heeled and attentive to me on their separate walks. Do not hesitate to consider Ricky for your training needs. Also, if you feel alone with your dogs behavior - please know you are anything but alone. The fact you are looking at reviews for dog trainers is a clear indicator that you want the best for your dog and intend to give them them best. :)

We have tried a lot of dog trainers. Ricky is fantastic…read more Apart from learning a lot at EPT, my dog now somehow seems a bit more mature, in a good way! Highly recommended.

This time around, my pup was due for his three-year "double whammy" vaccination of both DHPP and rabies. I made the appointment online several weeks in advance (recommended since appointments go fast) and was able to select by my preferred date and time. I followed the clear instructions by arriving 5 minutes early, parking in the lot, then walking past the shelter building to the vet clinic. Julie welcomed me and Chester with a smile, while going over what to expect. She also offered him a kennel cough intranasal vaccine at the same time. The appointment was brief and required me to only wait about 5 minutes total. Not to mention that it only cost me reasonable $25 (there's discounts for senior citizens too). Julie walked Chester out and told me of possible side effects to watch out for. Although my pup was excited to escape, he also got a lot of good smells and pets in. We left all set for another 3 years. Keep in mind that both the DHPP and rabies vaccinations are required for dogs over 4 months of age in order to license them in the state of California. This helps protect all dogs but also reduces stray pets from roaming the streets. They also offer spay/neutering, deworming, flea treatments, anal gland expression, nail trimming, microchipping and an all-encompassing examination.

Perfect Puppy Academy - Pearl being a good dog!

Anne Swan of Perfect Puppy Academy is simply the best! I first met her about 12 years ago when she…read moretrained my sister-in-law's goldendoodle, so naturally, I called her to sign up at Perfect Puppy Academy with our new golden retriever puppy. We took 2 puppy classes with her and have also engaged her to come to our home for some private classes. She is helping us work through some oddities with our puppy, like figuring out how to get our dog to get in the car... something she isn't keen to do. Or figuring out why she becomes scared when you sit something on top of her crate, like a shoe! Anne is amazing at putting herself into a dog's mind and understanding what they may be thinking. Anne's all about positive puppy training, which jives with our values. She is really incredible at how she has such firm control over our puppy in such a short period. She is literally the dog whisperer. She whispers to our puppy, who stops everything to listen to what she's saying. I've never seen anything like it! Anne's classes and home visits are both fairly affordable, but it's important to practice at home the things she teaches you. She packs a tremendous amount of information into her lessons, so pay close attention and take notes! If you can consistently do what Anne says, you will wind up with a well-behaved dog who is a good citizen that people will want to hang out with. That's really the bottom line and the best thing you can do for your pup. It's easy to give Anne and Perfect Puppy Academy my highest 5-star recommendation.

I was used to traning Bernners and Golden retrievers so this was a brand new experience for me. We took three of her classes so far and I have to say Anne made me feel 1000% welcomed even if I wanted to do puppy class two over. Our JR was not food motivated and I had a hard time training her with toys. Even though my puppy was not the perfect puppy in the class I gained so so so much helpful information from Anne. I considered it a mommy and me class just for puppies. If you are looking for a puppy class or a trainer perfect puppy academy with Anne is the way to go.

With Eric's guidance, we've watched our cattle dog gain confidence and transition into a much better state of mind. She is able to focus better, listen to commands, and make better decisions even with distractions around her. She has become a much more happier, playful dog and will even play with our friends and family, which is a huge change from the scared dog she was before. The progress has been incredible and everyone around us has noticed the difference. Eric continues to work closely with us, tailoring his training to fit both our dog's unique needs and our daily lives. As our dog grows, the training evolves too, helping us navigate new challenges and build on our progress. The Follow The Leader K9 team is outstanding. We can't recommend them enough. Reaching out to them was one of the best decisions we've ever made.

She showed signs of separation anxiety, crate aversion, general nervousness, and didn't seem super comfortable around other dogs. Right away, after reading positive after positive review, I enrolled her in this training program, and it's been an absolute game changer! After a short overnight board and train, she came back crate trained -- like magic. She settled into her crate that first night back at home (relatively no drama!), and now she can sleep pretty peacefully in it whether we're home or traveling. She's also now comfortable staying alone when I'm at work vs the constant supervision that was needed initially. Any time I run into a roadblock with her training at home, the team is always there to offer off the clock recommendations and methods to try. She now does off-leash pack walks with the group and coexists with all the other good dogs there. It's honestly more progress than I could've hoped for this early on. She still goes to daycare and occasional training where I get to join and learn alongside her. We continue to work on new things and ways for her to be a better and better dog and I can see it resulting in her being happier and happier as well! Eric and the whole team (Katia, Alondra, Jeff...you guys are awesome!!) are simply fantastic. I'm so grateful I found this program -- it's made such a difference in both of our lives! Highly recommend.
