I also appreciate the welcoming calm of the fitness studio; the idea of a big open gym with people coming and going always intimidated me. Finding Y.E.S. was the turning point in my battle to stave off the ravishes of PD. I feel truly empowered for the first time since my diagnosis, fifteen years ago. She works me out to my absolute max, but never more than I can take. If you think of Pilates as a "soft" work out, just to "Center" your core, you will be in for a big surprise. If I had the time and budget, I would have sessions with her three times a week! I used to wonder if just once a week was making a huge difference, but when I stopped for a month, I lost my strength gains and lost tone, as well. So definitely, once a week is better than doing nothing because you don't have enough time. It also puts me in a good mood afterwards, because Maya is such a pleasure to spend time with. She is very sunny & warm, nicest soul you could meet. Tip: In my case, she gave me a promotional price for the initial workout, so I would definitely ask for that, can't hurt. The studio is lovely - on the second story of a historic building on Bank Street right in downtown New Milford - with big windows and a great view of the mountains. They have a great variety of classes, and classes both in the morning and the evening. All of this is great news for yoga enthusiasts. But. The thing that is going to make you fall in love with Ah Yoga and keep returning (even if you live 1500 miles away) are the instructors. Anne and Elora and all of the teachers are so caring and so dedicated to their craft - you are made to feel welcome and secure from the moment you walk in the space. Good comradery among the students too. It's a great little community and one of the things I really look forward to when planning a trip back to New Milford.

Ed takes all of the guesswork out of planning workouts. All of the equipment and support you need is there. Only 45 minutes and I burn over 450 calories every time! The routines change so my body doesn't ever get used to the workouts. There's different times that you can go in the morning and afternoon/evening so it works very well with my schedule if I have a day off and would prefer to sleep in. I used to feel very insecure and didn't want to workout in front of other people, but since I've started bootcamp I am a lot more comfortable. All of the other women who go there are very welcoming and helpful. I never feel judged when I'm there. As someone who used to dread going to the gym and not even get much done while I was there- I am happy to say I found something that works the best for me!
