I was inclined to find a non-surgical treatment for a disc herniation and finding some relief but the options were limited. His methods may work well, but I didn't like that I had to go to two sessions before they would give me a clear diagnosis. I also didn't get much advice on stretches or exercises to do at home after the first visit. Had to really fight to get more details on what was wrong with me and I didn't like that. Went to some other place that didn't waste time with finding root cause, diagnosis and take home exercises, stretches and posture tips after only one visit. Another doctor found how extremely tight my hips and hamstrings were and I'm disappointed Calispine didn't tell me this right away! Calispine does warn you that they take a holistic approach, but I didn't realize how much time and attention these psychological and vision tests were going to take away from treating my back. My other chiropractor is just as concerned about giving you the tools to stay healthy long term but cut to the chase much more quickly. read more

Between my Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Hyperadrenergic Dysautonomia, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome I never knew if I was coming or going. I've been to Dr. Harper twice now, both times with tight muscles and terrible neck and shoulder pain. Dr. Mike and his team are absolute rockstars! I've been to several different chiropractors in my lifetime who I almost feel like wheel and deal you into a "Plan" where you keep coming back for 10 min sessions, three times a week, costing you an arm and a leg. Both my wrists started hurting (thumb-side) after having a baby. It hurt every time I lifted her, and when doing many other things. I was referred to Dr. Mike by a friend, and was attracted to an approach that didn't involve temporary solutions such as pain shots. Dr. Mike diagnosed me with De Quervain Syndrome, and performed Active Release Technique and Graston's Therapy over the course of the next 3 weeks. He also gave me a regimen to do daily at home. I noticed a big improvement after a week of the therapy, where morning tenseness had almost dissappeared, and my range of motion without pain increased as well. By the third week I was nearly back to normal, and with continued at-home stretching, etc. I am confident that I will be back to 100% very soon. Earlier this year, when I tore my lateral meniscus, I was sent to a mediocre Physical Therapy practice, which didn't help with my recovery. Hands down the best chiropractor I've ever been to...and I've been to a few. Dr. Josh is not into "quick fixes" -- though he knew how to get me out of acute pain quickly -- but is realistic with you about what it takes (commitment on your part) and helps you understand why you're having the issue(s) in the first place. They will do their part to get you there, but you also have to do yours. Dr. Josh is more comprehensive than any other chiropractor I've seen, taking a holistic approach. I originally came in for back pain. Not only have I seen tremendous improvement after just 10 visits, but I feel like I now have the tools to get myself out of pain on a regular basis through (1) exercises they have taught me, and 2) helping me be more cognizant of my movement patterns and how they contribute to my pain. Through these visits, I've realized that back pain is a lot more complex than I originally understood. I happened to mention during one of my visits that I had been struggling with some GI issues as well, so Dr. Josh had me fill out a metabolic assessment form. Based on the results, he strongly encouraged me to start the Repair & Clear detox/cleanse program which involves aggressive dietary & lifestyle changes for a number of weeks to see if diet is playing a role in my symptoms. I'm in my third week of the program, and I'm already seeing results. I have to preface this all by saying that I'm a skeptic -- I'm a veterinary practitioner so I rely strongly on western medicine -- but I could not be more pleased with how I've been feeling on this cleanse. Not only did my shoulder get better but I started PRing! I got back up to my push press weight, increased 20# on my overhead squat, increased 40# on my box squat and performed a max weight of a back squat with zero shoulder pain. All while being 3 months pregnant! In total, I had 12 sessions which included adjustments and rehab. While I felt that the rehab was rather boring it was definitely necessary. Dr. Josh is a true professional and has helped me a tremendous amount. I have had back problems in the past, but in the beginning of March I hurt my back playing paintball. Playing paintball is what I do for a living. I spend most of my year traveling around the world competing in paintball tournaments at the highest level. Back in March I hurt my back at a practice right before the first tournament of our season which I was unable to compete in, shit I couldn't stand straight up. When I got home I looked up several chiropractors in the local area trying to find the best fit for me.
