He was given a deposit so he could add the project on his schedule and then 2 1/2 months later he requested money si he can start purchasing materials for the project. For the next 7 months after he received the payment for the materials he continued to have excuse after excuse why the project hasn't been started/finished. At that point I canceled the project completely and requested a full refund. He claimed not to have any of the money I gave him and that he would need to pay me back over the next 7 months. He made 1 payment and then reneged on the 2nd. He then decided to take this to a judge in Kane County since that's the county I dwell in, because now he can't pay me the amount he originally agreed upon. Court date is coming up next month.

Disclaimer: I have never met the owner, Jakhari Williams, personally. I know from Keiwaun( business partner) that they were young entrepreneurs who were trying to grow their business. I was truly proud to do business with them. I used them originally when I moved from PA to SC through Uhaul. From that move, we anticipated the next move & what it would entail & they advised they could do it & at the same rate as before if I book directly with them. During my moves, I had damaged broken items & I have tried on several occasions to rectify the situation. On the evening of my move 7/22/23, I notified the owner Jakhari Williams of my issue with his partner Keiwaun Ravenelle. I had an expensive mirror broken (1st move), my daughters bed completely broken & unusable, my dresser damaged, my subwoofer damaged & broken) & speakers dropped. Allegedly, there was an emergency & owner was out of town. Per our text, I requested he call when he returns. I didn't want to take cash for my insurance deductible as I wasn't sure what my insurance covered. Thankfully, I didn't because when I tried to file a claim, the coverage wasn't for moving damages. When I left a message that my insurance didn't cover it, there was still no response. I paid them fully & I expect some communication after a complete 30 days of being patient. I was kind & expected professional behavior based on my dealings with them & the reviews. This company shows up as woman owned, minority, & small business. It's disparaging to think a small business with such an integral part of the community behaves with no integrity. I try not to assume anything, but even if i say take some time & come back & handle business, there should be some communication from the woman business owner, the owner, or business partner. Someone should reach out. I'm extremely disappointed by the treatment of this company & extremely angry that I tried to be kind in their time of need. Anything can be resolved with communication.
