One of my neighbors recommended Cotton to paint my new house and he did not disappoint. I had my entire house painted, including all the crown molding, coffered ceilings, and base boards. Everything came out amazing and even quicker then promised. Because of the amazing job he did I recommended him to my friend who just bought a house and he had her entire house painted, cleaned the carpets and upholstery for such a reasonable price and just two days after she hired him. Horrible experience. Chris came to my home to do an in person estimate. Everything that needed to be done was made very clear and he pretended to have the expertise to get it done. First red flag- after contractors arrived, the scope of work was not as extensive as first estimated, but Chris came up with excuses to keep the pricing the same even with the amount of work required being far less than he initially thought. After adding two 2x4's to fully stabilize the French doors, the doors were not flush when closed. No one on his crew knew how to fix this. Second red flag- more than once Chris and his crew just did not show up. He would give us a date and time, we'd adjust our schedules, and no one would show up or call. We'd have to call him only to be told another job had to be done and he'd be there another day. Third red flag-no one knew how to install basic privacy door knobs. I had to end up getting dummy knobs because Chris repeatedly said if they tried to install the privacy knobs on the French door and damaged my door he would not be held responsible. Of course, I would not give him the ok to potentially damage my door-especially with the complete lack of competence demonstrated. I asked Chris why he didn't say in the beginning that he/his crew did not know how to properly install universal French doors OR install door knobs. This was explained fully to him during the walk through/estimate. His response was that he's only worked with French doors where one was stabilized. He also stated he did not know what kind of door knob I wanted installed when he told me he could do it. In addition to all of this, the carpenters tore out the carpet and padding without asking. They were not able to properly put it back in place. Chris actually duck taped the padding and tried to lay the carpet over it. I walked in the room to find one worker pouring glue directly onto the slab and attempting to lay my carpet on the slab. I had to make them stop and eventually took out the carpet myself because what they had done could not be fixed. The only pro out of this entire nightmare were the two ladies who came to mud the wall. I regret everything else about this experience and wish I could get most of my money back. It is clear to me that his company is a paint and drywall company only. He knew exactly what I needed and confidently said his crew could get it done. This was far from the truth. He was definitely paid much more than deserved and I didn't find him to be fair or honest. I would not recommend. read more

Cotton and crew did excellent and quick work on a whole-house paint job, at a very reasonable price! They primed and painted everything (walls, doors, trim, ceiling). We purchased the home knowing it had a smoke smell, and they were able to use an odor-blocking primer to get rid of it. Feels like a new house! Great communication and easy to work with. I hired this company to paint interior rooms, hang doors and replace carpets. The owner gave me a fair price. The paint job was sloppy, with paint splatter on furniture and windows. There were many paint drippings on tile floors and walls. There were many areas that needed touchups. The owner told me to mark problems with painters tape. The doors were hung crooked, and left unfinished. Unfortunately, after several weeks of me calling and texting, he wouldn't even return my calls. I am now paying someone else to rectify what was left undone, and correct what was wrong. read more

Hired Chris to do painting, crown molding, raised bathroom sinks, tile 4 bathroom floors , and carpet cleaning. We paid approximately $5,000 for the which included removing and replacing 4 toilets for $35/each. He subcontracts his work. Overall, the work was well done. We had a few minor issues that needed to be addressed and they were taken care of without any issues. However, one of the toilets had a leak the next day after installation ...Thursday. I called Chris, he stated that he would be come on Monday to fix it. He came Tuesday, he replaced the wax bowl. Same leak happened that night. This time he states that there is crack in the tank, which he said happens sometimes when older toilets are moved. My husband and I bought a new toilet without asking him to pay for it. Chris agreed to pick it and install it the next morning. Well, to make a long story short, I picked the toilet up. Chris and his worker show up about 3:00 in the afternoon. Chris started a conversation about the manufacturing company and the liners are know to crack. He proceeded to say that he has made 2 trips to try to fix the leaks and that he is not a fault for the cracked liner. Basically, he wanted us to pay for the toilet installation. I asked Chris, if he wanted us to pay $35 again? After a few words back and forth the states that he was not going to install the toilet. After paying Chris approximately $5,000, it came down to a simple toilet installation to turn him in a one star contractor. If a zero was possible, I would give him that. Poor customer service ruined everything. I overlooked his unprofessionalism with not showing up on time. But being rude, dishonest and double talking is unacceptable.
