I keep trying to find a massage place that is closer to my house in St. Paul but I honestly can't find someone who does a better massage than the Calla Lily. They even got me in early at 8:45 am when I was stressed for time. I would recommend anyone in the metro or Wisconsin to check them out. I had a 60min massage and 30min happy feet. My session was only 1hr and 15min. My massage by Caroline was more like a skin rub. There was no pressure even though I asked for deep pressure. She did not workout any knots but only provide a very slow rub of my skin. Very disappointed. read more

My friends are always looking for a good day spa to have a girlfriends day of relaxation, so when we saw the LivingSocial deal for the Calla Lily Spa we knew we had to try it out. When I initially made the appointment they said that we could have a small room to bring in food for $10. I didn't think this was a good deal since I haven't heard of other spas charging this to their customers. Then I called back the day before the appointment to book and they changed the rate to $10/person. I decided we didn't need to have a room to ourselves. I guess the spa decided differently. They decided to go ahead and move us into the "private room" - it wasn't really that private - and charge us $10 to use the room. The receptionist said that it would be more "convenient" for us if she moved us into the private room. Normally it wouldn't have been a big deal but they didn't even tell me until I went to pay the tax and tip. It was "assumed" that I already knew. Had I known they were going to charge us for the room, we would have brought food. We had just brought presents to exchange for the birthday girl. Their explanation was that they wouldn't have any other place for their other customers to sit. There were 5 of us and 2 of us were in services at a time. There were at least 5 places to sit in their main waiting area. We saw one other couple who had to wait and there would have been plenty of room for everyone. On a different note, the waiting rooms were freezing. Not sure if they turned down the heat or what. We got the massage and facial special and Danielle and Kayla (I believe?) were great. I have no complaints about the services themselves, just how we were treated about this extra room. If anything receptionist should have confirmed when I checked in. And the extra room? It was just through the next hallway and had the same amount of seats and it was right next to the couples massage room and our friends could hear us giggling. I thought it would have at least some more privacy? They also offered us additional services but when we asked about them, the receptionist said that there was no one there to perform them. Maybe she could have said that to us beforehand so that we didn't have to think about it? I don't believe we have any reason to come back and they have lost hundreds of dollars in potential revenue. read more

I bought a Living Social coupon for the Head to Toe package and had a great experience! My massuese knew exactly what she was doing. For once, I didn't have to tell her to adjust pressure. She took her time and actually went over the 90 minutes. I also really enjoyed the aromatherapy. Afterwards, she didn't rush me to leave. I took my time, showered in the private bath, lingered around and drank tea. I will be going back. read more

My sister and I have been members at the Calla Lilly Spa for quite a few months now and have been customers for a couple of years. Their service and staff is excellent. It is a nice, relaxing environment conducive to relaxation. I have been to many places calling themselves "spas" and find that CL is one of the better ones. read more

Don't do it, it's a waste of money! My fiance and I went over the labor day weekend to have a couples massage, we thought it would be romantic and relaxing. We paid $245 for a sixty minute massage and then 30 minute foot massage. Way too much for what we got. The staff are not friendly and the massage therapists are mediocre at best. We were promised a gift which we didn't receive. The walls in the couples massage room were very thin so you can hear everything going on, so don't count on getting too relaxed. my husband got me a spa package and when I called to schedule they were booked out pretty far. they did make some arrangements to get me in for a appointment but I'm currently going through some major health issues as i need to cancel that. after that I booked another appointment but still got booked a month out called two weeks prior to cancel due to taking a chance to have my tumor surgery that day. the owner was hard to get I. touch with and when we finally did connect she didn't have openings that worked with my availability. my surgery is in the neck region and therefor I'm not sure when I will be able to go post surgery therefore I asked her if I could get my money back for the gift package so I could go somewhere else and get in somewhere before my surgery so I could relax and unwind beforehand... she had people coming into the spa while I was on the phone with her and was talking saying I'll be right there while I was speaking to her and she missed what I was asking her so I repeated it again and then she said well we usually don't do that so I'm gonna have to think about how I want to handle that and then the phone went click and she hung up without even saying goodbye or anything!! Now I have to wait to see what she wants to do which is hopefully give me a full refund due to the circumstances but I would not say that this is a very pleasant or professional experience I am having. read more

I was at the Calla Lily Day Spa in Afton this weekend, I got the head to toe package and a facial. I was there for about 3 hours and was so relaxed when i left. Everyone who helped me there was so kind and helpful an truly wanted to help me get the most out of my experience at the spa! The Calla Lily in Afton, MN is a great place to go to relax. My wife and I have been members for a few years and love getting regular treatments here. The two therapists that I can recommend as awesome are Kale and Emma. They are always friendly and professional and truly care about my health and well-being. Michelle, the owner, sets a high standard as I have occasionally booked with other therapists and the service has been outstanding. I just prefer to schedule with the few I know well. For us, it is about a twenty minute drive and we bypass quite a few massage offices on the way. I find those places too clinical. So, if you want a unique, friendly place to relax and spend a few hours, make the drive. This place is worth it. read more

I bought a trubate certificate for a head to toes package (massage, back exfoliation, aromatherapy scalp and foot treatment). I did not have any problems with Calla Lily. I was able to make an appointment the day of, the staff were friendly and the masseuse did a good job. But I don't think the masseuse gave me a foot treatment; it seemed like it was just a short massage. What I didn't like was that the spa was far; it was a scenic drive, but I'd have preferred somewhere closer. I have another coupon that I have to use, so I'll be going again. read more

This past weekend, I took my boyfriend to Afton for a night away from the cities. I booked us a couples' massage after a recommendation from the Afton House Inn (the spa is right down the street and super convenient!). Kael performed my massage and was wonderful. She was really responsive when I asked her to change pressure and I was so relaxed, I even fell asleep on the table. My boyfriend said he really enjoyed the massage he received from Lisa. Everyone we met there was really friendly and accommodating! We are already planning our trip back to Afton. read more

I came to the spa for a facial with LeAnne Erickson. This facial is a new kind of facial called infused oxygen lift. My face was dry before I had the service. This facial was amazing. It go on white and disappears as your skin takes in the oxygen. My face turns clear when the recess is done it is so cool to watch it work. I am in my 50's but my skin on my face makes my look younger than I am. How nice. LeAnne has a special gift with her hands. She is a master Esthetician. I can not wait until I can return for another facial from LeAnne. read more
