I've always found her to be professional, easy to work with and I enjoy the added bonus of cuddling her pup when she's there. And I feel lucky and exceptionally pleased that the therapist who I was assigned to in that moment has ended up being an unequivocal positive party in my life. I adore my therapist and I am so happy with the care and work we have done together. I have grown in leaps and bounds in different areas of my life, so much of it thanks to her guidance, support, and systems she has helped me build for myself. I am not ashamed of being in therapy, in fact I tell just about everyone about it and the things I am working on in my sessions. I think just about everyone could benefit from counseling and therapy, but I understand that there can be a stigma or it can be overwhelming and scary trying to start the process and find a good provider. I encourage you to face that fear and anxiety if you have the capacity, because I was afraid of it too, and I am so glad I am where I am and with my choice to continue with care. After having had some exceptionally negative therapeutic experiences in the past, I was nervous about trying to find a therapist that was a good fit. Dr. Barnes is certainly one of the great ones - she seamlessly combines deep knowledge with warmth and compassion in her practice.
